on the naming scheme for the Lodger, Humerus Bone, I burrowed the latin word humerus directly meaning shoulder or upper arm, i decided it was fit for him to have thick, stout arms.
Regarding Centurion, while I cannot pinpoint its exact location in the Milky Way it is within the boundaries of Proxima Centauri, the nearest star to our Earth harboring an exoplanet named Alpha Centauri B, which is where I derived the name for Centurion.
An Exoplanet by definition is a planet that orbits a star outside of our solar system.
In my concept's time period, space travel is accesible by means of sub-ftl (faster than light) travel;
Proxima Centauri is about 4.25 lightyears away (about 45 trillion kilometers)
With the fastest ever spacecraft currently made in the real world, the Parker Solar Probe which can reach about 724,000km/h , it would take roughly over 6,500 years to get to the nearest solar system at top speed.
In my concept, the FTL methods the spacecrafts use for travelling from star system to star system depends on a mechanism of compressing and expanding reality
This insightful article gave me more of an idea of how ftl travel may work.
The Bone Colony is Monarchical State, standing as one of the nations making up the Unitary State of Humanity.
Centurion is one of the planets the prestigious Bone Colony have claimed. It has a population of about 20,000,000 people and is home to diverse vegetation and wildlife.
It is just a little bit larger than the Earth, and is located in the right spot in its orbit around the star in its solar system.
Similar in some aspects to Earth. Different in many others.
Concept for the Home, The Home Owner and The Lodger
The Homeowners I have decided to create for this module consist of three lively individuals: A minor, a Swordsman, and a Mage
The Minor:
Takaro Himura. 17 Earth Years old. Abducted at 16.
Known Abilities: Can fire bursts of energy from any point of body.
Dislikes oranges. Keeps to himself but is pretty talkative. His father was a war veteran.
Inspirations:
The Mage:
Kuina. Born on Earth, Somehow winded up on a Lunar Colony. Has an obsession with her origin planet, Earth. Loves travelling. Wants to become a High Priestess someday.
Inspirations:
The Swordsman:
Radius Bone. Officially on the Bone Colony Network Watchlist. Disowned since childhood from Royal Family on suspicions of murder of the Queen. Raised in Centurion's North Pole by a nomadic Ice Weaving tribe. His scarf is not made of cloth. Always alert. Is often asked by the ship cook to chop up vegetables because of his blinding speed.
Radius is currently a lieutenant dispatched onboard Fleet 24's Roswell Carrier.
Inspirations:
The Lodger:
Humerus "Smiley" BONE.
Uses deodorant with a hint of citrus
Has a short temper. Is humanity's first truly genetically modifiable Human Being;- A team of scientists monitor his every action through surveilance systems, and are able to control specific genetic features like height, weight, bone density, body fat and muscle mass. In some cases he is known to develop his own features (he grew a tail after he hit puberty, Research and Development is still figuring out how that even happened and how he independently changed features).
In other territories Smiley has been classified as a criminal (the registration system AI automatically did it the moment his birth was registered, as it did with every other Bone Royal Family member)
Humerus Bone is on the hunt for the person that murdered his mother. And after receiving intel about a squad from fleet 24 being dispatched to the colony, he begins his hunt for the killer.
Managing to sneak into the ship, Humerus pries open a sealed door, revealing a corridor leading to a startled Takaro who was tasked with checking the data server room. A tension boils in the air. Takaro readies a finger-gun, extremely cautious.
For the home I'm deciding that it should take place in a spaceship. I feel like it fits in with the concept.
This is a reference image from Artstation, I used this as the base to get a feel of what the ship would look like. Similarities could be seen in the twin thrusters in the sides.
For the corridoor the scene takes place in, a small detail I've added is a guiding rail that is seen in several sci-fi tv shows and anime where the characters move in and around spaceships where zero gravity is enabled.
I'm still contemplating on whether or not the scene extends to the Data server room as the situation escalates.
Somewhere in the 2050s, Earth's population has slowly started to dwindle. A vast amount of individuals have begun to disappear at at an alarming rate. This is the third time Humanity's numbers nosedived without any explanation as to where they went.
There had been humans living outside of the Solar System long before life on Earth began; a more advanced, unified species of Humans called Proto-Sapiens who have split and sprang up in colonies across the Milky Way. With a portion of the Proto Sapien population consisting of humans who have escaped the Earth officially and illegally, they are obviously seen as somewhat lower than Proto-Sapiens because of their lack of qualities and adaptability.
The Humans who had been taken from Earth, however, are different. They are specifically selected for military or commercial purposes by a special body.
Takaro Himura is one of those humans that dissappeared in what the Humans beyond the Solar System calling "The Third Taking", the "Second" being approximately in the 1600s.
Takaro has been recruited by a cross-galactic military organizaation and met Radius Bone and Kuina of Fleet 24. He seems more than happy to leave his life on Earth behind.
