The Story Behind GeoSPELL
Before I get more in-depth with various topics when it comes to geocaching and the stories behind our journey as geocachers, I would like to share the story of how my family came up with our username.
I can recall it being an evening, everyone gathered to brainstorm ideas on what our name could be. We looked at other usernames on www.geocaching.com and played around with names in that aspect. Many of the combinations didn't work the way we wanted, so I continued playing around with a couple of names. After sometime later, I had come up with the name GeoSPELL.
I thought, how was that going to fit our family?
My mind went back to thinking, and it finally clicked.
The first three letters of our username are GEO, which is pretty self-explanatory, however, if you are unfamiliar, we use geo as a shorter term for geocaching, and means more room for other cachers to sign logs.
To the remaining section of our username, I used the word SPELL, which spells out SPELL. As an experienced geocacher, I still have moments of getting puzzled, and the reasoning behind it fits perfectly with us.
But, that is not why I initially thought of the word SPELL to incorporate into our name. There is a deeper meaning.
The S in SPELL is for my father, Stacey.
The P in SPELL is for my brother/dog, Petey
The E in SPELL is for my mother, Emily
The double L's pertain to me, as I go by Lady Lindsay on social media and my other blog.
