hey everyone. this is maggie. up until recently on here i was known mostly under the url anthonycrowley, and then a few other urls before i chose to delete and try to go anonymous, to have a bit smaller platform. idk, maybe you’re familiar with some of my posts. frankly, i’d like nothing more than to continue to have a smaller platform, but something happened to me recently that makes me feel that i need to exploit any goodwill people may have for me on this website. sorry for that, i guess.

last week, my aunt was diagnosed with leukemia. while we originally thought this was a chronic form of the disease that is relatively manageable, we learned a couple of days later that this is, sadly, a much more aggressive and deadly form. i’m not going to pretend that i’m particularly close to this woman, she lives across the country from me. but it’s throwing my mom for a loop because it’s her baby sister and, more importantly, she’s got two young kids.

i’m not asking for money here, not really. (if you find you have some extra money and really want to, feel free to dm me, as what she really wants is food coming in for her family in the next few weeks, and if you have your heart set on that i’d be fine with discussing it, but that’s not really why i’m here.) i’m asking you, if you are medically able to, to donate blood, particularly if you are in seattle, where she lives. she’s had more than four transfusions in the past two days, and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down. if you can, do it for her and people like her. blood donations at the blood bank i linked currently require an appointment, so if you are so inclined please make sure to make one.

please understand, i wouldn’t be asking this or coming out of anonymity if i wasn’t very very scared. but this isn’t about me, and this is how i think i can best help her in this situation. if you’re there and you can and you choose to donate, you’ll be helping me and my family more than you could know. if you’re not, please circulate this post so people who can do that see it. thanks so much and love you all.
