This is very urgent so please share however you can. Islam, the mom of this family in Gaza, is eight months pregnant but has a fractured pelvis and therefore cannot give birth safely. She needs a C-section, but the conditions to perform those no longer exist in Gaza. For months women in Gaza have been getting C-sections without anaesthesia. We need to get her out before she goes into labor, which could happen at any time now. We're halfway through the goal and even if everyone just chipped in 5-10 dollars it adds up quick!

Hey yall, so I'm Decol and TLDR version is: I can't work cuz I'm disabled meaning my trans gf is our family of 3's only income.

Less tldr version: I'm a disabled native parent living with my trans gf who is the only one of us who can/does work. She needs to support the 3 of us and now that her checks are being garnished it's harder than usual for us to keep up with bills. We were already relying on Tumblr for support before garnishments happened and now we hardly have anything left after bills & groceries. So any money we get from this goes to the secondary bills that we've have fallen behind on and/or things like restocking water, tp, paper towels, soap, etc; basically any non-urgent needs that we had to go without to pay rent, utilities, or get groceries. Garnishments have taken $150 from us PER WEEK which really affects how much we have to exist especially when we didn't really have that much to income begin with.

after some thinking I think i finally hit on why I'm so irritated with a lot of modern horror being so deeply self-referential and insular. and its like. the whole concept, the idea of 'final girls' and playing on tropes and stuff is the same sort of consumerist navel-gazing that spawned things like ready player one. you aren't doing something different just because your 80s movie references are different 🙄

The UCP government introduced a bill on Tuesday that will break Alberta Health Services into four separate organizations overseeing mental health and addictions, acute care, primary care and continuing care.  Bill 22, the Health Statutes Amendment Act, enables a vision for an improved health care system that is "ambitious yet attainable," Health Minister Adriana LaGrange said. [...] NDP health critic Dr. Luanne Metz said the bill is another example of how Premier Danielle Smith is trying to centralize control in her office. She said that when the plan was leaked to the NDP last fall, the document listed several risks, including "service disruption/failure" and "potential to fragment care delivery." "This is a blueprint to escalate the chaos in our hospitals and clinics and will do nothing to improve results for patients or support staff," Metz said in a written statement Tuesday.  "Danielle Smith wants to control everything, everywhere, all at once, and this Frankenstein of a bill will continue the dismantling of Alberta Health Services and stuff patients and providers into ineffective silos."

It's so funny when TERFs do biological essentialism and take it to some insane extreme I never could have imagined on my own. You'll be scrolling an LGBT or feminist tag and suddenly see a post that says "Women prefer milk chocolate colored pretzels while men prefer dark chocolate covered pretzels due to Female Socialization," and some other TERF in the notes is replying "Men eat dark chocolate covered pretzels because they have angry, rage-filled souls. Women are incapable of eating dark chocolate covered pretzels, the flavor is too harsh and wicked for their gentle tongues." and not a single person in the thread realizes that this is fucking balderdash
