This animation was quite interesting, surreal, and kinda creepy. I am not sure exactly what made it creepy, other then the way it was animated, but its an interesting short. It has a singular idea/motif and it handles that one simple motif really well. I feel there is a lesson to be learned here, that executing on a simple but strong idea can be a really good thing.

I really enjoyed the animation and visuals of this video. The way the different clips from movies interacted with each other was really well done and is a really cool idea. There is a sort of 2D combined with 3D element to this piece that is really creative. This whole thing is just incredibly creative, and the craftsmanship that went into this is insane.

Rabbit is essentially an animation of a very twisted children’s storybook. It reminds me of old precautionary tales for children you hear about, that have some strange monster that punishes bad children. This video is somewhat unsettling, most likely due to this mix of children’s story visuals and a feeling of danger present at all times. I am curious exactly what technique was used to animate this film, as it is quite interesting.

Lewis Klahr’s “re-animations” are a really unique with how they use cut-out animation. I think his use of cutouts are really clever and interesting. This is a good example of how to use a medium well and play to its strengths. I think that his surreal usage of cutouts is really neat, and it helps to reinforce the idea that I should be considering the strengths and weaknesses of a medium that I choose to use.

I really enjoy this video. I love the way it portrays this as a pitch, and how at first it seems that the video we are watching is a project that has been completed and is now being pitched. However, it becomes apparent that the video and the pitch are happening concurrently, and influence each other. This is an incredibly creative project, that is aware of itself in a very neat way.

This short film is really cool. I really enjoy the animation/photography, and the miniatures are cool. These visuals go along with the music really nicely. This is clearly a very political piece. I think that this video handles its message in a very artistic way that I enjoy. I also like the song itself, the vocals and instruments are both very nice to listen to.

I like the pieces shown in this video. The interaction between 2D and 3D is quite interesting. This video feels very dreamlike, which is supported by the dreamy music played in the background. I like that I feel I don’t have to think very hard with this video, instead I can just feel and react to it. It is a very nice experience.

I really liked this interview-like video. I find myself to really enjoy absurdism, and it is very entertaining seeing Aki Sasamoto talk about different pieces and performances. This video was a ride to watch through, which was a pleasant surprise going into it. I also like that this video seems to have a few lessons about creativity and expression.

This video is a very interesting journey through what to me feels almost like a strange fairy tale. I particularly like the music in this video, it helps to portray a certain tone that causes the viewer to feel like they are a helpless observer on this journey. This video ends up being a very fun and engaging “ride”.

This video is very strange to me. The use of the dated computer graphics gives this video a weird atmosphere, along with the monotone narration. This video feels hypnotic, I feel like I should be closing my eyes and meditating to this. I am really unclear about the purpose of this video, but the visuals are interesting.

Pipilotti Rist is certainly a very interesting artist. This interview of hers is interesting but I have trouble following her and understanding what she says at times. The way her train of thought goes, or at least the way the interview is edited together makes it difficult for me to follow along. Due to this I did not particularly like this interview, even though I like hearing her speak about things.

This interview with Bill Viola is quite interesting. He has a unique way of looking at things, and he seems very friendly. He seems very thoughtful and down to earth, which is quite endearing. His worldview is very interesting, I enjoyed hearing him share his experiences and talk about them, relating them with principles from different belief systems.

This video has a really nice anti-bullying message. What I like about this video is the pacing of it. It has a very quick pacing that makes everything feel snappy in a nice way. Doing this it is able to show all these different situations without going on too long, and getting to the point in a very reasonable time. It also gives it a bit of a style which is nice. It helps the message of the video really stick with you.

This video was nice. It is a nice inspiring message, about a man thinking about the possibilities of his future, and using this dream of his to motivate him and empower him to get through the mundane life, so that he can get to his fantasy. What I really like about this video is the footage itself. I don’t know how to describe it, but the camerawork adds something very unique to this video. I think that the shakiness of it makes this video feel very personal.

This short film was incredibly creepy. It does a great job of immediately making the viewer unsettled by the threatening whisper of Luis. The voice over for Luis is so good. The other thing that makes this scary is the stop-motion animation. Stop motion can be effective in horror as the odd movement of things are very unsettling to people. The visuals in general were fantastic, and I love how Luis moves along the walls and interacts with the room.

This video was nice. It is an interesting look into our potential future as we gain the ability to expand from Earth into the rest of our solar system. The visuals in this were really nice and they help to paint a nice picture of what might lie in wait for humanity. As I said before, I like this video but it doesn’t amaze me. It doesn’t necessarily do anything too clever, it is just a nice thing to watch.
