What do you wish you knew more about?

     “things we don't really have access to. like the deepest depths of the oceans - what kind of sea creatures live there, and is it some pacific rim bullshit waiting to happen? or space, are we truly the only ones out there, or are we all just waiting on an alien invasion? and, though i fear death, i'd like to know if there's an afterlife. will i become a ghost, will i be reincarnated, or will i just be gone forever? damn, now i'm probably gonna be stuck browsing conspiracy theories websites all night again..”

What takes up too much of your time?

     “eating. everyone who knows me also knows i'm a bit of a foodie. i like to take pictures of all the food i eat, but that aside, i'm just a slow eater in general. i wanna savor it, you know. my coworkers really hate me at dinner parties. it only sucks 'cause i'm a busy person but i gotta make time for my food. i love food. food's great. bring me food and i'm yours. dumplings. bring me dumplings. god, i'm so hungry right now...”

what is your dream city and why?

     “to be honest, i've never even been out of south korea. i've pretty much been busy my entire life that i haven't even thought about visiting other places, or even where i'd like to go if i ever did. plus, y'know, money was tight, so i couldn't even afford the luxury of thinking about that. that's sad as hell, i know. so i'm not sure - but from what i've seen, i'd love to visit europe! paris? venice? amsterdam! those cities look gorgeous.”

what was the most recent vivid dream that you had?

     “other than that great dream i had last night of, uh, something— the most vivid dream i can remember is the one i had last week, of taemin and i working on a cf together. i have no idea what the cf was even for, but in it, taemin and i were dancing to uptown funk. what was so memorable about it, though – other than the fact taemin was a better dancer than me, because ha, as if — was that the background kept changing to different parts of the city, like we were teleporting all over the place. it was all very trippy. i also woke up with uptown funk in my head and have been singing it all week.”

What was one of your most defining moments in life?

     “it’s definitely when i was offered the internship at my current place of work—it opened so many doors for me, and all these possibilities i never thought i’d have! being able to use my voice for good, i don’t know, it’s amazing. i go to my job with a smile every day, i feel like that’s not a luxury a lot of people my age have.”

what are you scared of most? how will you overcome it?

     “this is a difficult one. i think i'm most scared of dying. the thought of having to leave this world, leave my family, friends and loved ones behind… it's not one i want to have to entertain until i'm as old as a bat! teehee. actually, did you know the average lifespan of a bat is up until 20? though the longest known lifespan of a bat in the wild is 30 years. so probably a bit older than a bat. maybe when i'm as old as four average lifespans of bats.”

Who do you consider your best friend? And if you don't have a best friend, who are your closest friends?

     “not to be picking favorites, but of course it's my platonic soulmate, jihye. she’s one of the most beautiful people i know, inside and out! plus, she’s an amazing cook. if i ever need a pick-me-up, she's the one i go to. i’m lucky to have her.”

(...)                after queueing up a list of songs to keep the crowd entertained, as well as letting the club’s manager know she was taking a break for a bit, suhan’s heading down from her booth and pushing her way through the crowd. swiftly IGNORING any attention given her way, and instead focusing on the sight of noori— letting her own heated, determined gaze lead her to the direction of her former lover. she’s already thankful for the lack of leather gracing her arms that night, due to the fact that she was practically SWELTERING beneath noori’s stare already— but she supposed the leather pants she opted for wasn’t exactly helping either. “hey,” she greets the other as soon as she’s close enough, completely [ DISREGARDING ] whoever previously had a grip on the girl and slipping her own arm around her waist instead— gently pulling her flush to her front soon thereafter. “so were you purposefully trying to distract me from my set just now, or—” she teases, quirking her head to the side with a small, taunting grin. suhan’s boldness was certainly new, and perhaps unexpected— even for herself— but she supposed the surrounding thumping beats of her OWN mix helped with that.

she’s always considered herself to be level-headed; to be able to think straight in dire situations. but somehow, hani has the amazing gift of making her throw that – along with any kind of ‘straightness’ (though there’s not much of that left) – right out of the window. noori knows this isn’t a good idea, in the long run. there’d be an aftermath to deal with, feelings that might’ve best been left buried. it’s just that… right now? she doesn’t care. she wants this, whatever this even is between them, even if it’s just for this moment. because right now, she knows she looks good, in the tight mini dress she’s worn a total of three times, and right now, she feels good, her entire body thrumming with anticipation when their eyes meet. right now— all of a sudden, the music abruptly changes into something that could be considered a little more bubble pop. It’s a bit jarring at first – definitely an accident, and noori covers her mouth to hold back a grin, but ends up throwing her head back with a laugh. at least now she knows she’s leaving her mark, but what she’s really waiting for is for suhan to come down and leave a mark on her.

fortunately, the wait isn’t long.

her heart’s so loud, and it feels like she’s swallowed it – as though it’s stuck in her throat, beating in tune with rhythm with the song. it’s been a while since she’s last felt like this, completely enraptured. it’s insane how suhan even looks amazing simply walking towards her, longing for them to be near. “took you long enough,” her ‘hello’ is much more coy, instantly moving to crowd hani’s space without hesitation. she doesn’t bother to see the reaction of her previous ‘dance partner’, too intent on the girl in front of her now. she knows she doesn’t need to answer because hani already knows – of course she was purposely trying to distract her – but she wants to; she wants to tell her – or better yet, show her. it’s been so ridiculously long since they’ve been close like this, but it’s pure instinct that drives her; her fingers splay over the back of suhan’s neck, pressing closer as her gaze drops to her mouth. despite the heat in the club, despite the heat between them, the kiss that follows is surprisingly soft and tentative. the slide of lips is almost experimental, it’s to test the waters – to see if they’re truly on the same page and it’s what hani wants, too. as much as noori wants to whisk her away and take her home with her, she doesn’t want to jump to any conclusions. when she draws back, it’s with the taste of hani on her mouth and rosy cheeks, her grip still secure. “does that answer your question?”

i am SO SICK of people (including other girls) putting girls down for everything they do. y’all won’t let us win. you’ll make fun of a girl who like starbucks and victoria’s secret leggings for being too basic, make fun of an athletic or muscular girl by saying she “looks like a man”, call any girl who likes nirvana or classic rock a poseur but girls who like rap music ‘thots’, and harass “art hoe” type girls for liking popular, talented artists or yellow fucking backpacks. i swear to god, anything a girl likes becomes a meme. young girls are a joke and it’s time we get treated with some fucking respect.

time and time again have i heard “why don’t you just be original and do things you actually enjoy?” like what??? the fuck??? is this??? no girl can EVER enjoy anything that anyone else has ever enjoyed, EVER. absolutely not. and honestly who gives a shit if she developed her interests based on somebody else’s? that’s how we learn and grow and discover ourselves. i guarantee you that you wouldn’t enjoy shitting in the toilet unless you saw the rest of the world do it first.
