YOUR LOVE I want to know, Do you think you love me, Like really truly love me? Is it enough to can withstand storms In Times of my hurricanes? I want a person who can feel things deeply, the kind of person whom with we can go out and set this world alight I need a kind of you with whom i can watch our wrecking ball go up inflames as we make love under the light of the stars Can you be that person? I want a guy who will understand when he says I love you and I laugh because of disbelief, someone who will be OK with me when I don't believe it if they say they love me more than I do them, not because my kinda love is greatest but because I don't believe it when people say they love me even if I want them to believe I love em all the same. I want the patient kind, someone willing to repeat the things they told me when we were the most happiest, because I'm the kind that need reassurance, I need you to keep saying things even when you know am in disbelief I want the kind of person who I know I can ring when my 2am personality has me believing I ain't worth your time a kind of person who is willing to sit with me even if I don't feel like talking so are you my guy, I ask yet again Are you the kind that has a love so strong it can break on my defences, yet soft enough to hold me down when my demons are raging through? Can you really love someone like me? INNER VIEWS | KLFR

So my friend's birthday Bokbeats was on the 30th of May and excited as I was about it I created some visuals and posted them on Instagram to celebrate his day and it was all just for fun and I thought nothing of them until I got a call from KLFR (Chef as I call him) asking me who did the visuals that I had posted and the moment I told him that I did, he got way excited and then asked me to do a bio insert for him and that gave me a chance to talk to him about his music and food when we liaised over instagram and emails. That's how I got to my first INNER VIEWS which aims at getting inner views and create a platform to put my friends and different people I meet on to the world. This is how it went. WHO ARE YOU?  My name is Keoikantse Modisaotsile Lephadi, my stage name is KLFR pronounced clifa. I'm a singer/songwriter and I make new age RnB and I'm also a culinary arts student. DID YOU GROW UP IN A HOME WHERE THE CREATIVE ARTS WERE ENCOURAGED? I was raised in a house that has a strong faith in prayer, at first my family wasn't supportive of the creative arts but after the effort they saw me put into my food and music they allowed me to express myself in my own way. WHEN AND HOW DID YOU START WITH THE MUSIC, AND WHAT ARE YOUR INTIMATE MUSICAL INFLUENCES? I was highly influenced by my brother and sister when growing up, they introduced me to hip hop generally, I only started writing music in 2009 when I was at boarding school in Klersdorp. My musical influences would have to be Mabi as he helped me a lot in finding my sound cause he was more of a mentor than anything else, he has a strong belief in my talent and always encourages and challenges me to do better than my previous song. He introduced me to a new wave of hip hop that is emerging from Mafikeng that merges Trap, Hip Hop and RnB. WE'VE ONCE HAD A CONVERSATION ABOUT YOUR MUSIC AND YOU TALKED ABOUT MAKING LIVE MUSIC, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO MAKE LIVE MUSIC? Well I want to make live music cause I honestly believe that live music has a greater impact on the human soul than any song ever recorded. It also gives an element to interact with the crowd and that kind of element can only be harnessed on stage and nowhere else, it's also a platform for any artist to truly state that he/she is making music for love or money and you can only see that through live music. TELL ME ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING EP 'RECORDED CONVERSATIONS ' IS IT COMPRISED OF ANY LIVE MUSIC? Ahh man... the EP was recorded during a very transitional point of my life, the first time I genuinely felt heartbreak and progression at the same time so every song has its own story behind it. And no, this EP isn't comprised of any live music but the second one will.

LET'S TALK ABOUT FOOD, HOW DID YOU FIND YOURSELF IN THE CULINARY ARTS, WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN? It started where all good things start, at home. During my high school years my mother would make me cook everyday except on some Sundays then I just fell in love with cooking. Thereafter I saw some cooking shows on TV such as Cake Boss and Master Chef and that was when I got inspired by them so much that I wanted to become a chef, after I was done with my matric I enrolled into culinary school and I'm still in school and only graduating in 2018. WHEN YOU TOLD YOUR FAMILY THAT YOU WANTED TO BE A CHEF, WASN'T THAT RECEIVED WITH RESISTANCE? Of course there was, my father didn't see any practicality in it, he believed that it would be a waste of money and my schoolmates as well also believed that my dreams were too ambitious, but after proving my skills they all became believers in my craft.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN THE WORD 'FOOD' COMES TO MIND? Well I think cheesy garlic bread stick with sweet chili dip and T-bone medium rare steak with reduced red wine sauce. WHAT ARE YOUR COOKING INSPIRATIONS? Ah man, it would have to be my mother and fast food, but genuine good fast food such as Rocomamas. IS THAT THE CUISINE YOU WISH TO CREATE?

Yeah my king, honestly I genuinely think that fine cuisine is overrated. Well I would like to make Things like monster waffles and crazy cheese fries, honestly the menu is crazy hey, and I like ayyy. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE YOURSELF DOING AFTER GRADUATING NEXT YEAR? 

I want to see myself open a Cafe named Concoction, either in Johannesburg or Mafikeng. SO WHAT IS THE SYNERGY BETWEEN YOUR MUSIC AND FOOD, DOES ONE INSPIRE THE OTHER? 

Man I can't cook without singing, and I can't record without thinking of munchies. [Grin emoji]
