                                           FIRST FALLIN, NOW TRIPPIN

WHEN: Day One. 10am Standard Time.

WHERE: On the surface of the Alpha planet, in a rainforest. 

As the ship barreled towards the lush green planet, there were a few fortunate circumstances. The first of which being that Monty, overzealous about the newfound opportunity to show their talent for piloting, took over in place of Cabbie. This allowed him to be at the helm, and with his hands on the steering mechanism while Breville’s rebooted the ship’s systems. Leading to the second fortunate circumstance, Vorna, who’s arm and leg was somewhat affected by the shutdown, was still able to use her bio arm to renege the shields before the ship crashed. And third, the ship dived directly into a massive rainforest, with trees towering over 300 feet tall. Between the thick canopy and the net of sturdy vines, the ship’s velocity slowed before making contact with the planet. 

The front half of the ship is damaged, but the crew who were strapped in or holding on tight all remained safe inside the vehicle. Some may have been thrown forward and sustained sprains or bruising, but no broken bones, and surprisingly, no death. The initial scans of the planet’s atmosphere indicate that it has enough breathable air to make it safe to go outside, which is a good thing since there’s a tear in the hull of the ship which exposes many of the hallways. The bad thing is, while the ship was crashing through the forest, it managed to hit what looked like seed pods. These seedpods exploded into plumes of neon blue particles and dispersed into the air. The crew, relieved to be alive paid no mind to this occurrence at first. 

But now that they are on the ground of an unknown planet with a ship damaged beyond repair, it’s starting to matter. Tergi insists on rebooting Cabbie and sending a distress signal, even through HQ is undoubtedly following after them. This, however, is proving difficult because the hallucinogenic effects of the blue seed particles are beginning to kick in. The sky is swirling, mirages are appearing, and everyone is absolutely tripping balls. Strangely, except for Melara, who seems to be immune. Can the team survive this planet while high out of their minds? 

THE OBJECTIVE: Reboot the system and send a distress signal, while fending off hallucinations.

                                             FREE, FREE FALLIN 

WHEN: Day One. 10am Standard Time.

WHERE: Entering the atmosphere of the Alpha Planet.

When Cabbie turned on the landing lights, all the halls of the ship glowed a dim red. This is a common occurrence in the landing sequence which notifies passengers that it’s a good idea to get to a seat and strap in just in case something goes wrong. But because it’s such a frequent occurrence for nothing to go wrong, some just ignore the lights and continue about their business. 

On this occasion, only a few seconds after the landing lights come on, a loud sound cuts through the ship. Something akin to tearing, breaking, and crunching. It roars through the hallways and the red lights flash and then die. All electricity within the ship cuts out immediately, including some android and cyborg internal mechanisms. Cabbie sits in the pilot’s cabin, at the helm, completely deactivated. The ship has passed through the first layer of the atmosphere, and the hull is on fire because the shields are down. Anyone looking out of the front window can see the planet’s surface coming at them fast, coming into detail with sickening suddenness. 

The ship is crashing, the pilot is dead, and all systems are down. The team needs to find a way to reboot the system within the next few minutes and point the nose of the ship up so that they don’t turn themselves into dust before ever breathing the air of this new world. 

THE OBJECTIVE: Reboot the system and land the ship safely.

i loved your application! the idea of a diplomat from a toxic planet who joined the nebula corps just because it’s exciting is so fascinating to me. the balance between the party girl and genuinely cunning socialite is something i don’t think we get to see a lot in science fiction. i really look forward to see how zix adapts to an undiscovered world and how she relates to the team! the idea of a person from a planet that is so lavish and rich going on what is essentially an unsactioned camping trip is so good to me! i am so glad that you applied for this rp and i can’t wait to see your golden girl on the dash!

                                                PART ONE : FLYING HIGH

WHEN: Day One. 7am-10am Standard Time. 

WHERE: On the way to the Alpha Planet. 

It’s been two hours since The Pilot turned on the engines and flew the ship out of the loading bay and into the dark oblivion of space. Due to the early morning departure, there wasn’t lot of security there to stop or question the crew. So they made it out of the bay while only a couple of engineers and flight coordinators stared and yelled at them. After about fifteen minutes of peaceful flying the higher-ups at HQ finally got the memo that there was an unsanctioned departure. 

HQ repeatedly hailed the ship for communication, but no one answered. Either because of stubborn refusal or a fear of being chewed out, no one aboard the Proxima ship picked up. A collective decision was made to turn off the comms system until they all agreed on whether or not to go forward with the mission. After a half-hour of bickering it was settled on that they’d continue with the mission. They were already in trouble, they might as well try and make it worth their while. 

So now they drift towards an unknown planet, The Pilot maintaining their course at the helm. They are in uncharted territory and going against their employer’s will. This means that they don’t have the proper background information to safely explore the planet. And if something goes wrong they don’t have the safety net of the Corps on their side at a moment’s notice. But for now, there are three more hours to go. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight. There will be no complimentary peanuts or pretzels.

THE OBJECTIVE: Make sure everyone is on board (mentally and physically) and prepared to explore a new planet.

Lilah, we were so happy to see your application reach us. I am so intrigued by Yul’na and how he might grow as the plot unfolds, especially after reading your plot ideas regarding his emotions and his silver tongue. I was so eager to see the reasoning behind The Scout’s behavior and psyche, and your take on it - with its touches of emotion and nuance - did a great job at showcasing your understanding of them. We cannot wait to see him on the dash, I think it will be super exciting to have him around!
