✪ Thoughts on voice: For a CV voice, she is surprisingly clear and handles well at high ranges. I mean, that's kinda a given considering she's recorded at C4. The samples themselves are very long in the vowels, and considering she's so clear and stable in her tone it actually works in maker her sing better, and she doesn't fade out too much towards the end of a long note unlike a lot of other long vowel-ed CV UTAUs.

Her pronunciation very obviously English, as the r samples are English, as well as a few notes where the a vowel is pronounced "aa" instead of "ah"

What I find pretty unique is the addition of three scream samples. They're much more muffled compared to the rest of the bank, and don't have an oto on them. Then again, how do you oto a scream? (lmao). It's certainly not a super practical addition to a voicebank, but then again, I keep seeing voices that include coughing and laughing sounds, so it's honestly not really that weird to have a couple screams.

There are a few technical problems regarding the oto of the bank, as some of the more English-oriented sounds like "va" and "ti" haven't been oto-ed at all, but considering she's a CV bank, as well as the fact that normally these sounds aren't even used in Japanese songs, if the need to oto them came to arise it'd be fairly simple. I also noticed some samples that are oto-ed cut off or don't include the whole consonant, as well as the overlap being the same location as the consonant line. That being said, it's a CV bank so it shouldn't take too long to fix.

✪ Thoughts on design: (note: I had a detailed thing typed out but while editing tumblr decided to yeet it off the face of the Earth so apologies for that)

Nebula is one of the mascots on Pureiweb, and resembles a character from Rhythm Heaven. Her design is fairly simple, with the noticeable parts of her being her sequined blue bowtie, as well as matching microphone. I personally like the the simplicity of her design, as she is both easy to draw and thus easy to remember.

The overall theme for all the YANLOIDs is that they're the mascots of the website. Unlike a lot of popular UTAUs, they don't really have that set or complicated of a personal backstory; they just are here to sing! I honestly really like this, as you are able to have them sing songs without really needing to worry about "is this canon?" or "does this relate to their story in any way".

✪ Overall: While not the most high quality UTAU in terms of design or voice, Nebula YANLOID is very memorable and unique in her own right. From the theme of her character design to even her voicebank itself, she is a great example of "less is more" when it comes to the UTAU community. Her readme states that Pureiweb wishes for her to grow big and famous through singing and whatever she is used for, and I hope so too!

NEVER MIND NEVER MIND i remembered a friend that i watched fixits with at their house. i was 10/11 at the time and i loved fixits. I couldnt get my parents to get abarunu at ALL. lots of convincing did NOT help...

I wonder where they are now

I log onto Tanbi and everybody is shouting into the void today about an obscure Abarunu series i honestly haven’t seen since 2011. Heck i didn’t even have Abarunu growing up (it was a Satebon/Parabon exclusive channel up until 2013 iirc and didn’t even know about its existence, and my family had MeruUzune to begin with).

I only saw it once at an indoor playground’s little theater room with a whole bunch of other children my age (and younger). And it’s the first time i heard bebo sing. This was like 3-4 years before Yanloid i wanna say? I honestly knew the voices were familiar back then but i completely forgot that the Fixits existed up until now. Thanks Tanbi.

Haiko has this lmi gf (we got the lcd g4 so it’s no longer trapped in a lappy486 type contraption) and im over here watching tokani. Pixel the pixel (i think that’s his name) is actually pretty soothing. Also, it’s like Abarunu but better! (Can explain later)
