The Real Reason Shadow Probably Got Sent to the Hospital

Okay, idk if anyone else has come to this realization, but I think I know damn well why Ad*m put a hit out on Shadow when the two were supposed to race. Sure, compared to the likes of everyone on the SK8 crew outside of Reki, Shadow isn't all that remarkable of a skater, even Tadashi and Ad*m didn't seem very phased by him. So then, why bother trying to rid yourself of the competition?

We all love to shit on Ad*m for taking a skateboard straight to Cherry's face, and I'm right there with everyone when we say it's a dirty trick and straight-up assault.

But you know who else pulls dirty tricks when racing?

That's right! Our man, Shadow!

This is a man that will throw skaters that get ahead of him off the track using firecrackers or lasers, and even after we see that outside of S, Shadow is a giant, flower-loving teddy bear and the team big bro/mom and his growth with genuinely caring for the rest of the SK8 crew, he still pulled his tricks to get ahead in Ad*m's tournament, winning against Harry by simply shining a bright laser in his eyes and throwing him off track.

I'm not justifying either methods by any means, but even Reki mentioned in the very first episode that in S, anything goes and a skater can resort to any means necessary to win, especially if it means sabotaging your opponents, and it's come to my attention that Ad*m and Shadow are the only ones we see in SK8 that actually take advantage of this rule.

Ad*m saw that shit and knew Shadow was gonna be trouble unless he did something about it. Shadow doesn't hold a candle to Ad*m's skating skills, but even Ad*m knew he could get thrown off his game by some firecrackers. So Ad*m, being the calculating politician he is, probably got the blonde bat-carrying dude from episode 1 to find Shadow and exact some revenge, and we all know what happens from there.

In short, I don't think Studio Bones screwed us out of another epic Shadow race simply for the sake of doing so, but rather I think they knew that a couple of Haemanthus bombs would be all it took to make Ad*m take a literal humble tumble, but that would have robbed us of Reki having his crowning moment of awesome of being the one to carry out the deed himself.
