Born in Iran to Persian and Mauritian Parents, Néda grew up in Australia enjoying the freedom to learn and perform. Her career has been in collaborating to deliver original world music performances, in Australia and around the world. Her vision is to deliver world music to the commercial music scene. On her path she has made her debut solo release entitled “All Colour ”. This year she launches that project with a live show featuring some of Melbourne’s finest musicians who recorded on the album. Her music combines acoustic, world electro, samba and hip hop. Inspired by Brazilian carnival traditions, All Colour live will comprise glamorous percussion street entries, explosive harmonic vocals in numbers, turntablism, classical and electric guitar, dance and film media. Néda has designed and manufactured a band cloth that the band wears which represents and reaffirms the elements and shapes of the music and its players. Swelling harmonies in English and Portuguese flow form Néda and her accompanying singers. Beats interconnect through DJ Jumps, the drummer, percussionists and dancing multi-instrumentalists. Each member of the All Colour Project is a multi talented groove-melody master; together this equals All Colourful music.

Review of NEDA's All Colour show at Federation Square for VIVA Victoria

A large crowd was waiting eagerly for the arrival of Neda and her All Colour Project – and we weren’t disappointed. Their entrance, walking right through the throng, beating loudly and rhythmically on the drums, built up the anticipation as they moved onto the main stage at Federation Square.
From then on, Neda and her collection of 10 incredible dancers, 10 stunning drummers and four vocalists, had us all entranced. Lead by the captivating Neda, the All Colour Project is an incredible display of talent and energy and kept the crowd on their feet, dancing and clapping.
Neda is a powerhouse – a dancer, percussionist, singer and songwriter. Full of passion, she is able to move easily between high energy dance numbers to more subtle, gentle songs and keep us entranced the entire time.
All of the songs were her original compositions and she showed her versatility throughout the show on lead vocals delivering soul numbers, reggae beats and dance numbers.
Visually, the show was a knockout and Neda’s colourful, sexy costume and wild mane of curls were perfect for the vibrant set and the backdrop of the troop in their electro pop jumpsuits created a sense of fun and style.
The unity and power of the percussion section were a highlight. The crowd loved the rhythmic drumming and the crowd all couldn’t help but move along to their beat. The electro pop funk of the DJ worked incredibly well in the set and Neda and her back up dancers had a great time sharing the energy in those numbers.
The four lead male dancers individually showed incredible strength and control and their bodies had a grace and power that had us all in awe. Jumping, stomping, kicking, and leaping in time to the music, their skill added an extra dimension to the group performance.
Neda and the All Colour Project finished by drumming as they walked off the stage and back through the crowd and we all followed as they stopped for one final impromptu number in the middle of Fed Square – and left us all still wanting more.
