i just feel like their first time HAD to go poorly because their first kiss did. stede left immediately after their first kiss. ed gets to leave after their first time. stede left because he wasn’t sure he really wanted to be a pirate after all. ed left because he wasn’t sure he wanted to be a pirate anymore. do you SEE THE PARALLELS????

I honestly blame the whole "release the entire season at once" trend because now there's a generation of people who are incapable of seeing each episode as one part of a whole, where there is information we still dont have because the show isn't over yet.

And instead of acknowledging that the story is ongoing, they lose their minds when theyre left on a minor cliffhanger until next week and drive themselves insane trying to find reason for characters choices. Then the next episode comes around and all of their questions obviously get answered and they go "oh what a relief 🙂" and then do the exact same thing until the next episode.

Isn't it exhausting?? Just take a few steps back yk?

Everytime I leave Tumblr and come back, I have fun for like two weeks then remember why I left in the first place

Can't y'all just... enjoy a show? instead of going through a spiralling crisis everytime there's a bit of depth and complexity in a character that can't immediately be romanticised?

it kind of fucks me up to think about how immediately Edward fell nose over tail in love with the first guy to show him kindness, gentleness, & respect for him as a person and not as a figure. how long did Ed yearn for someone to see him.

and Stede. how deeply he loves Ed, the first person to get to know his idiosyncrasies, his interests, & all the things that have set him apart from his family and peers all his life, and not mock him but instead actually celebrate and enjoy him for these very reasons. did Stede even understand acceptance enough to long for it before he had Ed's.
