Taking preview pictures of roofs is hard. I recolored my Simple Clean Metal Roof in 18 mostly muted Pantone colors. The previous recolors aren't required at all for these to work. Note that the roofs will look darker in game if you're not using a mod that makes the Maxis roofs brighter, for example this one by Niol at MTS.

4t2 Metal Roof Hatches

These roof hatches by Phaeton99 converted to Sims 2.

I adjusted them to fit the grid: the small one is 1x1 tiles, the medium is 1x2, and the biggie is 2x3. Each size has an open and a closed version. The footprint for them all is only 1 tile, so OMSP wizards can go crazy with these.

I made the top and the base separately recolorable and gave them a few recolors, including some glass ones for the top that make these look less of a hatch and more of a skylight.

All of the other meshes are repositioned to the closed medium one.

These do not work like real windows, so you will need invisible floor tiles to use them as skylights without the weather getting in. This is intentional, as combined with ladders or loft stairs, these look like actual hatches sims can climb through.

I also added a sleeker edit of the 1x2 open mesh that clips less with ladders (no closed version of this one). The preview is included with the archive.

The files are compressed. The closed meshes are around 450 polys and the open ones are around 1040 polys. The texture size is 512x256.

Located under build/architecture, the small ones cost §250, medium ones §300, and the big ones §350. If you don't have either Apartment Life or Mansion & Garden, you can use the object relocator to move them elsewhere in the catalog.

@ people who still play sims 2 on windows

Those of you who use DXVK but still experience pink flashing, could you try this for me? I am too lazy to reinstall Sims on my Windows partition

Open your dxvk.conf (or create one in the installation path of the game) and write:

dxvk.enableMemoryDefrag = True

Test this setting in-game for a while, then change it to:

dxvk.enableMemoryDefrag = False

And test this as well.

By "test it", I do not mean to test it for a mere 10-20 minutes. Test it thoroughly! Different hoods, different lots, take your time and play the actual game like you normally would! If normal gameplay works, try to stress test it (cheats, CC, high quality lot imposters, etc). If it takes a few days to test, so be it, but we really need to stop reporting too fast and make sure that our observations aren't coincidence.

I do not think this is going to be the big fantastic fix people are hoping for, but it's still intriguing. DXVK is set to "auto" out-of-the-box and my suspicion is that this is what makes the game run better on Linux: The GPU drivers on Linux are different, so perhaps the "auto" setting actually works properly in Linux, but not in Windows.

There are 28 variations. These collages use the work of 228 different artists; the archive includes full-sized swatches with artist names and a file with a link to each of them.

Apocalypse Alien Hunter for AM & AF

Faded & grunged versions of @blueheavensims 4t2 Alien Hunter outfit. This felt perfect for the wasteland, I love the gear haphazardly taped to the sleeves, but the Sims 4 textures were very clean and new looking. This version uses the original 6 textures but the colors are less vibrant and dirt has been thrown on them. Set as Everyday, Gym, Maternity, and Outerwear. Meshes included. AF is repo'd to AM so those files are required

Belladonna Cove

While most of Sim State is very, very old, Belladonna Cove is one of a few newer developments. Built over the site of Old Magic Town by the DeBateau Corporation and the Goths, and named in honour of young master Goth’s new wife, Belladonna Cove paved over one of the last wild patches of land and transformed it into a thriving hub of business, tourism, fishing, and industry. Belladonna has grown so big that it even threatens Downtown’s status as the premium urban destination of the region. 

One of Belladonna’s crowning glories is the inner-city rail network, one of the most advanced pieces of public transport design in the state. Looming over the poorer neighborhoods and tastefully tucked away beneath the richer estates, your relationship to the rail network can define your place in Belladonna. As with any city, the divide between rich and poor is stark.

But if you have the money or talent to exploit Belladonna’s bustling port - the biggest in the region thanks to the needs of DeBateau’s shipping company - you can make it big here. The Hills of Belladonna are a dream to many, and the reality isn’t far from what people suppose it to be. No expense was spared to turn the wild forests of Magic Town into respectable estates. A private school even dominates the skyline in The Hills.

Like any city Belladonna has its troubles. Money, power, relationships, all can turn a cramped urban environment into a bit of a pressure cooker. There are people who slip through gaps in the crowded system, families that are a little too close. You might not know everybody like you would in a small village, but the people you do know? You know all about them. Still, it’s nothing you wouldn’t expect to find in a city. The oddest feature is the statue of Bella Goth, built to memorialize her a few years after her disappearance. There’s nothing strange or disturbing lurking in Belladonna.
