things that piss me off:
whenever i edit a post there's a 80% chance its going to move the "read more" line down into the transcript lines. if i don't fix this and edit again it goes in there even deeper, thus revealing more of the script.
MOVING IMAGES AROUND IN THE TEXT EDITOR. 50% of errors are based in this. dragging images around is a pain in the ass. if the post is divisible by 3 or short enough, i'll upload 3 at a time, so i only have to move 1 of three images in that row instead. this means if i'm not careful, i post duplicates! or miss panels! but its easier on my brain!!
the choice to make this blog's entire use of text be images instead. Editing is always a lil more effort because of this. actually only mildly annoying because it looks sooo much better than just text at least.
that's it, thats basically it.

I feel like Mira is going to get super used to having a reset button and get comfortable with the loops, and Loop is going to have a horrible time as Mirabelle resets over every little thing "because I can do better! So I want to!". Dagger equivalent optional.
She's definitely of two minds about it. On one hand, she can change things! And change is good! Change is great even! On the other hand, she's a lot less dissociated than Siffrin, so resetting things like that feels... wrong, in a way. She doesn't like to loop if she doesn't have to. She does have a Dagger-esque conversation with Loop about looping to reset things, and Loop does say that, yeah, the point of looping is to fix your mistakes, but yeah, there should be a limit. Otherwise, you kinda lose it over every little thing! Teehee! And Mirabelle, being responsible and all, says that yeah, that's probably a good idea.

Firstly love this AU and how you’re executing it! Everything feels really in character and a great extension of Mirabelle’s character.
Anyway onto my question. How will the section where Siffrin needs to ask the king new questions progress? Will Mira have to try to lead Siffrin to ask those questions or will the king be receptive to her asking questions?
Mirabelle would likely ask the questions herself. She does have autonomy, and it's not like Siffrin is the only one who the King will talk to. Granted, the King may be surprised that Mirabelle would ask things about the Island, but she wouldn't know as many things to ask as Siffrin would.

Okay, so! I’m having thoughts about formatting.
At the moment, all of Mirabelle’s dialogue is in quotation marks. However, reading the Script Project, it looks like that’s not the case in the original game. So—I’m presented with a choice to make.
One, I can keep doing what I’m doing.
Two, I can only do the quotation marks for dialogue choices.
Three, I just never do quotation marks?
Would love some feedback on this, because I don’t like making decisions on my own 👍

How badly does Mirabelle take it when she loops back after defeating the king for the first time?
This is the third ask I’ve gotten about it, so I should probably let y’all know: I’m working on it! But the spoons, they have been low 😔
Please don’t think this means you should stop sending asks! Keep sending them! Just be a bit patient with me :3 thank you!!!!

Following the King's defeat, everyone's talked to the Head Housemaiden. Mirabelle talks to her after everyone else.
Transcript at the bottom.
(Looks like everyone's had a chance to talk to the Head Housemaiden--er, Euphrasie.)
(Siffrin looks… upset? Well, you can talk to him about it later. You're free now, after all!)
(Oh! Weren't the villagers in Dormont planning a feast to celebrate?)
(You should tell the Euphrasie about it!)
Mirabelle: "Euphrasie!"
Euphrasie: Mirabelle!
Euphrasie: Hehe!
Euphrasie: Let me say again how proud I am of you.
Mirabelle: "Really, it's nothing…"
Euphrasie: No, I mean it! You've done so many since I last saw you, things that must have been very difficult.
Euphrasie: You met new people, made new friends, and let's not forget you did save the entire country!
Mirabelle: "Speaking of! They're having a feast in Dormont to celebrate the King's defeat!"
Euphrasie: Oh! That sounds delightful! A sort of last hurrah before you go your separate ways, hmm?
Mirabelle: (Mm…) "I guess so, yeah…"
Euphrasie: Well, I know we'll all be very glad to have you back.
Euphrasie: You've changed so much, Mirabelle, and I can't wait to see how you… continue to… change…
Euphrasie (shaking text): …!!!!!
Euphrasie: Oh… Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no, no…
Mirabelle: "Euphrasie…?"
Euphrasie: Oh… Mirabelle…!
Euphrasie: I'm so sorry! There's no way we can stop it now…!
Euphrasie: I'm sorry! You'll be going back! Back when everything started!
(…!) (The atmosphere feels weird…) (You taste something like caramel in the back of your throat.)
Mirabelle: "What? Euphrasie, what's happening?!?"
Euphrasie: I know you thought your quest was over, but it can't be!
Euphrasie: Something's broken, something's failing, rotting!!!
Euphrasie: I can't fix it on my own, not before it all ends… If only I had noticed sooner!!!
Euphrasie: I should've seen it, prevented it!!!
Euphrasie: (You feel a tug on your stomach.)
Mirabelle: (Urgh!) "Euphrasie, what's going on?!? What's wrong?!?"
Euphrasie: It's my fault that you have to suffer like this.
Euphrasie: I just hope that one day… You might learn to for--

I feel Siffrin's Friendquest would be getting them to feel more open about where they want to go. And getting a better understanding of that "happiest they've ever been."
That's a very good point. Thank you so much for the suggestion, because tbh, I wasn't totally sure where to go with it ._.

Kinda funny how Loop pulls the 'breathe in and out' on Mirabelle in her first interaction with Loop here - since in ISAT proper, Isabeau actually mentions it being a Siffrin thing to Mirabelle. I'd love to hear all the little things that Loop slips up on that adds fuel to Mirabelle's theories on them
Oh yeah, there'll be a few things for her to notice! The breathing technique, their accent, using star-themed swears, the eye thing, their sense of humor, their height, and possibly other things. She does ask what Loop's Craft type is out of curiosity at some point, so that's another thing. And as previously mentioned, she connects how Loop talks about the stars during their hangout to how Siffrin talks about stars in the observatory.

Siffrin looping works with him waking up from a nap, giving his brain an instant to reset all the signals it's sending to their muscles. Where does Mirabelle wake up, and how is her continuity between the end and start of a loop?
She comes to kneeling in front of the Change God statues, having been praying (as seen in the Act 2 opening). She then has about 30 minutes until Siffrin lets her know about his plans to nap. Fortunately, she doesn't just start flailing around immediately, the Universe gives her a little latency since she was in a sort of meditative state when she was praying.

so many asks about meeble. what about loop? how does their introduction go? do they even stay they/them, or do they keep he/him because they're not worried about siffrin? are they still a sassy little brat?
Ah! I've sorta been waiting for an ask like this!
So, I've already done Mirabelle meeting Loop. But it'd be a pain to scroll through the whole blog to find it right? So... I have a masterlist in the pinned post! It's sorted by act, so you can just look around there! Regular text is their own posts, italics are asks. No guarantees which are scenes and which aren't though.
So, yeah! Thanks for giving me a chance to refer people to the masterlist :3

How many languages does Mirabelle speak? And can she - not even does she, but can she - learn the Language of the Island?
She’s taken a couple language classes in her time at the House, but only remembers enough to do things like say hello, give her name, ask where the bathroom is, etc. She certainly won’t able to learn the forgotten language, though—kinda hard to learn a language that gives you a supernatural headache just thinking about!
Fortunately, there’s still an Islander looping with her. So it’s not entirely hopeless.

How would mira snap in act 5? And also, what are the friendquests like?
Good question!
So, Act 5 is complicated. I need a better understanding of what she goes through and what her breaking point is.
As for the friendquests! I only have a vague idea, but what I do know is:
Odile’s is still the Familytale;
Siffrin’s… I don’t know;
Bonnie’s… I also don’t know;
and Isabeau’s involves getting him and Siffrin together (what can I say, Mirabelle’s a sucker for romance)
I wouldn’t mind hearing suggestions!

Still true! There’s plenty of scenes that have yet to be asked about, and uh. I always appreciate asks to get the juices flowing.
By the way, this blog is powered by asks! Basically. So, if you have any questions or any scenes you wanna know about, don’t be afraid to send them in!
Also, I’d be open to trying in-character asks if that’s something that there’s any interest for? You’d have to clarify when you’d wanna ask though, probably saying which event you want to ask following.

In case anyone was wondering what additional skills Mirabelle learns in this AU…
Slicing Rotunda — Deals weak ✌️SCISSORS damage to all enemies. Gives two JACKPOT points instead of one. — Level 56
Heavy Hitter Wallop — Deals weak ✊ROCK damage to one enemy. Gives two JACKPOT points instead of one. — Level 62
Blinding Starry Supernova — Makes enemies much ⏪SLOWER for a while. — Level 66 (only after Loop hangout)
Slashing Whirlwind — Deals big ✌️SCISSORS damage to all enemies. Gives two JACKPOT points instead of one. — Level 72; replaces Slicing Rotunda
Grand Spinning Slammer — Deals big ✊ROCK damage to one enemy. Gives two JACKPOT points instead of one. — Level 80; replaces Heavy Hitter Wallop
(Just do it.) — Deals massive 🖐️PAPER damage to all enemies. Doesn’t give a JACKPOT POINT. — Start of Act 4

Mirabelle has the option of not doing her speech in Act 4. She just gets tired of doing it, and she knows everyone wouldn't be there if they didn't support her. There's no need to do the whole thing to get reassurance on that.

One thing i was thinking of: do Loop and Mira spend a loop hanging out? What does that look like? What do they talk about? What happens when Mira realizes that the rest of the party died against The King? Most importantly!!!! Is this Before or After she finds out that Loop used to be Siffrin?
Those are very interesting questions! I'm gonna diverge from how I normally answer asks to talk more about my thought process. I like to think of this AU as more of a collaborative effort, after all.
So, usually, Loop's hangout becomes available once Siffrin learns about Time Craft, and is available in Act 3 and required in Act 4. It happens because Loop wants to test a theory they have about when/why Siffrin loops. The hangout itself happens after the first day of the timeloop, with Siffrin sneaking out of the clocktower in the night. Because they snuck out, the party went to the House without him the next morning. Now, Loop's theory is that Siffrin loops for a reason other than dying or the King winning--which is true, because he loops when he runs out of time to be with the party, as per his wish. Not that either of them know that, but still.
So! That leaves me with a few questions to answer.
When would Loop suggest hanging out with Mirabelle, and why?
What theory does Loop want to test?
When does the hangout itself actually happen?
What does the party do during their hangout?
Does this happen before or after learning that Loop used to be Siffrin (as per your ask)?
We'll start with Question 5, actually. Does this happen before or after learning that Loop used to be Siffrin? And to that I'll answer, it happens before. During the hangout, Loop ends up telling Mirabelle about stars and stuff. Sometime after that, the party goes to the observatory despite it being a dead end, and Siffrin yaps about the stars. That allows Mirabelle to connect the dots and figure out Loop's past identity.
Continuing to do things out of order, I'll answer Question 4 next, What does the party do during the hangout? They wouldn't go to the House without Mirabelle, since she's "the Chosen One" and also the whole reason they're together. But... Let's just say, Loop does a little meddling to get them to go without her. They leave a little note in Mirabelle's handwriting saying she doesn't feel up to going, and warns them about the Death Corridor trap in sufficient detail.
Tangentially, another thing worth noting is that while the party is able to reach the King without looping-Siffrin, they wouldn't even get past the Death Corridor without looping-Mirabelle, since she tells Siffrin about the switch to disarm it.
Now for Question 1. When would Loop suggest hanging out, and why? I guess that's two questions, actually. Anyway, they'd still suggest it after learning about Time Craft. That is what Mirabelle is using, after all. As for why: they wanna test a theory about Mirabelle's loops. Pretty simple, this stuff stayed mostly the same.
So now let's hop over to Question 2, what theory does Loop want to test? To answer this, we need to know the actual reason Mirabelle loops, work backwards to determine what Mirabelle originally believes to be the reason she loops, and then work forwards again to Loop's theory.
Mirabelle's wish is founded on her fear of change, specifically about getting bonded but more generally in believing the things she likes how they are aren't allowed to stay the same. The whole reason she's in a time loop is to learn to be okay with staying the same. She loops when things change too much, or in a way she doesn't know how to recover from. Dying certainly counts as that, and so does losing a party member (usually Siffrin) to traps (since being KO'd in battles is recoverable). Talking to Euphrasie triggers a loop, since she talks about changing and whatnot.
So then, why does Mirabelle think she's looping? For starters, she believes the power to loop is a blessing from the Change God. Therefore, she must have been given the power so that she could defeat the King and save Vaugarde. That would lead her to determine that failing to defeat the King, whether by dying before they can reach him or by him winning, would cause her to loop. (Obviously, the end of Act 2 disproves this, but that's not here and only a little there.)
Now I think we can consider Loop's theory. By this point, they've probably been able to guess that Mirabelle is wrong about the reason she loops. It's always a bit after the King wins that she loops, and she still loops when she talks to Euphrasie. So, their theory is this: Mirabelle loops for a reason not related to the King or her quest. ...that sounds familiar Anyway! This theory is, of course, proven accurate. But for whatever reason, probably because she gets mad at Loop, they stop focusing on the "why" of the loops and more on the "how" after that.

Does Mirabelle ever try walking through the tears?
Hmm... Probably not. It would require leaving the rest of the party behind, and she's not the type to split off from everyone. She's also not leading the party anyway, since everyone follows Siffrin. I don't think that would change, at least not in earlier acts.
I will say, it probably crosses her mind at some point, or Loop's.
EDIT: Wait!!!! I was reading the Script Project, and apparently, the tears work differently than an actual time freeze skill. So that could also be a factor. Maybe Mirabelle gets frozen by tears, despite her immunity? Idk.
