Lexicon 2019, The literary fest organised by the Department of English presents:
Fandummies- The Fan Fiction Writing Competition
In mapping the shift Mass-Media has brought about in literature, one cannot dare overlook the genre of fan-fiction.
Fan-fiction, no matter how one defines or engages with it, has found for itself a spectacular readership. The culture of fan writing, and the obvious encouragement of it, forces several questions about the fundamentals of reading, writing, authorship, technology and community to the forefront. Breathing life into stories and extending them beyond the limits the author binds them with, fanfics open doors to the alternative galaxies to fanlores and subcultures.
*Fandummies*, the Fan-fiction writing competition at JMI aims to celebrate these ‘unconventional’ galaxies by inviting entries from whosoever enjoys flouting the ‘canon’.
