🕯️ Every artist needs a muse… mine just so happens to have feathers and a very cheeky beak! 🕊️✨ Have you met Zazu yet? He’s my clever parrot sidekick and studio companion — always chattering away while I paint. His favourite saying is “I can talk, can you fly?” 🐦💬 Together we brew up all sorts of magical creatures and whimsical stories behind studio walls. Do you have an animal familiar in your life?

I’m brushing in the final little touches on my Magical White Yak—and it feels like he’s been guiding me the whole way. A wise and gentle creature, he offers a glimpse into your future… but only if you’re kind. 💭🕯️ This painting has stretched me in all the right ways—what began out of my comfort zone now feels like home. I’ve learned so much while creating him, and I’ll be releasing prints soon! Would you give him a home when he’s ready to wander out into the world? 🌙🦙🖌️

One rainy afternoon, I sketched a little girl with a rather serious expression and a cat cradled close to her chest. She had found the creature in a fog-dusted alley and decided, quite firmly, that she would never part with it again. Not for kings, not for kingdoms, and certainly not for bedtime. They were forever wrapped in each others' embrace 🖤🐈⬛🕯️

She spins, he spins—an eerie little duet. 🕸🩰 In my painting, The Arachnid's Choreography, a girl in black velvet twirls through a ballroom of cobwebs, perfectly at home in the hush of dust and silk. Her partner? A spider, of course—who spins her fairy floss mid-dance. 🍭✨ Would you waltz with a spider if it meant sweet magic? → https://nekka.art/shop

Have you ever watched a pleco fish at work? 🐟✨ Recently, I painted this fascinating little creature for my dad. Plecos are more than just cool-looking fish – they’re the caretakers of the tank, quietly helping all the other fish by keeping everything clean. 💧 There’s something so calming and admirable about them. What’s your favorite creature to paint or draw?

I went out plein-air painting recently, and for a while, time just... stopped. The air was quiet, the world slowed down, and I felt completely in tune with the moment. 🌿 The sun, however, had other plans — darting in and out like a trickster! One second it was shining on my canvas, the next it was gone. That kind of light shift can be a painter’s nightmare! But luckily, I snapped a few quick photos to catch the scene before it changed again. Thank goodness for modern tools helping with ancient crafts ✨

🕯️"On a particularly overcast afternoon, I found myself in the fine company of a certain Miss Wednesday Addams..." Do you ever find a character so curiously charming, so wonderfully peculiar, that you simply must bring them to life in ink? That’s just what I did during one of my recent Twitch streams—a little sketch of Wednesday herself, brooding and brilliant, for a lovely viewer with a delightfully spooky heart. ✒️🖤 My commissions are open, if you’ve a character you'd like conjured by hand: → https://nekka.art/commissions

There’s something extra special about my studio in winter ❄️🕯️ Every time I walk in, I feel wrapped in a warm, cozy blanket—the kind that makes you want to light a candle, hold a cup of tea, and get lost in little a world of your own making. Every day, the afternoon sun pours through the windows and spills across my easels, lighting up the creatures waiting there... and in that moment, I can see them breathe. 🌞🎨💫

Running my own little art shop has always been a dream of mine — one stitched together slowly, with ink-stained fingers and big hopes. Years ago, I set out with a sketchbook and a heart full of strange creatures... and along the way, so many of you have believed in what I do. 🖤 Your support has meant the world. Every order, kind message, and story shared has helped bring this dream to life. Thank you for walking beside me. I’ll keep creating more curious beings from the edge of the world — and I hope they bring a little magic to yours. → https://nekka.art/shop

Hello there, new friends 🕯️ I’m Nekka — a vampire who’s been around for 1000 years and finally decided to become a quiet hermit in a dusty little studio. These days, I spend my time drawing and painting stories of creatures I meet, both real and imagined. I adore making friends with all creatures—great, small, winged, webbed, or wandering—and I spend my days immortalising their tales in my artwork. If you're new here, say hello! 🦇 Ask me a question — I do love a good chat between brushstrokes.

Every time I walk into the studio, the Magical White Yak is there waiting—calm, steady, and full of quiet mystery. 🐾❄️ There’s something so peaceful about returning to an oil painting like this one… the slow rhythm of brush to canvas, the gentle layering of thought and colour. This piece has taught me so much along the way. I started it feeling unsure—so much of it was out of my comfort zone—but it slowly opened up, like a quiet lake I’d never visited before. And by the end, it felt like coming home. Keep your eyes peeled—prints of this piece will be making their way into the shop soon. ✨ → https://nekka.art/shop

Have you met the bunnicorn yet? 🐇🦄 A shy little rabbit-unicorn with soft paws, a stitched horn, and a spark of mischief in its eyes. My mum handmakes each one, sewing in a sprinkle of magic and a whole lot of love. ✨ These plushies are based on a character from my own artwork—and goodness, they have a way of making themselves at home in the oddest, coziest corners. They’re looking for homes (and good cuddle spots)! 🖤 Adopt your very own bunnicorn from my shop and let a bit of stitched-up wonder into your world. — https://nekka.art/shop

I’ve been enjoying easing back into my Humpty Dumpty storybook lately 🥚🧡 I’ve given the tale a little twist—a softer, happier ending for our dear egg friend. Each page is packed with tiny details and takes so much time and care… but oh, it’s worth it. It’s one of those projects that gently pulls me in and reminds me why I love storytelling through pictures. I can’t wait to share the full tale with you when it’s done!

In my little shop, you’ll find a gathering of peculiar creatures — prints, candles, apparel, cards, pins, and stickers. 🖤✨ I have recently reduced shipping rates overseas, too! They are quite ready for new adventures, and perhaps your home is just the place they have been dreaming of. 🍂🐀 Wander through the collection — https://nekka.art/shop 🎨🏡
