              ❝  —  ARE YOU SURE IT DIDN’T ?  but you did say ‘ goodbye ’  to the board ,  right ?  ❞  the girl can only hope noriko’s chat doesn’t notice the desperation in her voice ,  but it isn’t long before her eyes read their comments ,  confirming what she already knew .  oh well ,  at least they weren’t making fun of her for being  awkward !  maybe it had something to do with the feared ban hammer ,  or maybe someone could relate .  either way she was just glad the actual owner of the stream would be returning soon .  when noriko greeted her viewers again ,  announcing her own return ,  yukika started clapping her hands rather aggressively .  what a relief !   ❝  yay ,  she’s back !  i was  boring them  to death …  oof ,  ❞  she comments while adjusting her mask ,  finding comfort in the fact that at least her public didn’t know what yukika looked like .  not yet at least .  after sliding her chair slightly to the side to make more room for the other girl ,  yukika brought her legs close to her chest ,  hugging them as she looked between the stream and her friend .  ❝  they  totally  did ,  i - i’m not an entertainer !  …  wait ,  seriously ?!  ❞  her eyes widen ,  ❝  that could end real badly ,  nori .  demons might be real ,  you know !  ❞

                    ❝  OF  COURSE  I  did  !!  i’m  not  an  amateur  !!  ❞  though  an  amateur  is  exactly  what  she  is,  especially  when  it  comes  to  the  occult.  it  isn’t  as  though  she  has  researched  the  topic  very  well.  her  main  intention  was  simply  to  create  some  entertainment  here  and  there,  nothing  more,  nothing  less.  she  laughs  when  yukika  claps  her  hands,  bowing  to  both  her  and  the  audience  watching  her  from  the  comfort  of  their  own  homes.  at  least,  she  hopes  they  are.  she  doesn’t  want  them  to  risk  their  safety  by  watching  her  while  walking  down  the  street.  ❝  you  weren’t  !!  who  could  ever  be  bored  by  you  ??  ❞  she  pouts  at  the  mere  thought.  in  the  very  back  of  her  mind,  she  thinks  of  how  biased  she  is,  that  of  course  not  everyone  is  going  to  appreciate  yukika  the  way  they  should,  but  she  can’t  do  anything  about  that  now.  ❝  well  !!  i  never  said  they  weren’t  real,  but  i  think  it’d  be  super  interesting  to  talk  to  one.  ❞  as  usual,  she  completely  ignores  the  obvious  risks.  ❝  providing  they  don’t  go  nuts  and  possess  my  shit  and  break  my  streaming  set  up.  that  would  be  super  inconvenient  !!  ❞

ichika !

The sound of drumming was filling the music store, as Ichika got lost in the rhythm. It was one of her days off, and she had been itching to practice, even more than she usually did. She had been here for only thirty minutes, but she was already moving onto her fifth song, with narry a break in between. It wasn’t intense, but it was consistent, not professional sounding, but with a ton of heart in it. She was practicing a particularly tricky part of one of her favorite songs, a part that had her staring intently at her drum kit as her sticks flew from part to part to part on it. She actually did it a few times, seeming to stare a hole into the poor kit.

When she finally looked up, practically slamming her stick on the crash cymbal, she was met with someone close to where she was practicing. She froze, quickly grabbing onto the cymbal to silence it.

“ A-Ah! Sorry, I didn’t see you… am I, uh, being too loud? I can get pretty into my practice… u-um… ”

With one hand still on the crash cymbal, she pulled her sticks close to her, as if it was a shield.

                    WHILE  NEKO  HAS  definitely  been  to  concerts  and  performances  where  the  drums  were  played,  at  least  back  in  her  own  world,  she  is  so  used  to  creating  her  music  via  programs  only  that  it’s  a  breath  of  fresh  air  to  hear  instruments  live.  it’s  more  common  to  hear  live  music  in  castle  town,  she  thinks,  especially  since  the  cytus  network  doesn’t  exist  here,  for  better  or  worse.

                    probably  for  the  better.

                    when  she’s  finally  spotted  from  where  she’s  unabashedly  watching,  she  just  grins.  ❝  nope,  you’re  fine  !!  i  was  just  listening,  you’re  really  good.  i  wish  i  could  play  an  instrument  that  well.  ❞  shout-out  to  the  bass  guitar  sitting  in  her  room.  ❝  there’s  no  need  to  be  shy  about  it  !!  ❞

          ❝ I know,  I know…  I’m just glad it was              returned to you safely, at least. I just              don’t get why they were taken in the              first place… ❞

          There’s little use trying to placate Neko now, she thinks. Though not a victim herself, she  understands why her friend would be so upset. The headphones are her only link to home - Aroma can’t imagine Neko’s visage without them. She picks the headphones up, keeping her grip gentle, trying to look for any damage or wear. 

          ❝ I don’t think they were stealing for              the value, though. Didn’t they take              Simon’s helmet, as well ? ❞

          The thought is back, a theory that she’d very much like to keep at the back of her head, but… it isn’t too far-fetched to believe that AEsir is the one causing all of this. She wasn’t a victim herself, but the fact that the only other people from her world were… 

                    SHE  RUBS  HER  eyes  —  they’re  tired  and  sore  from  how  she  stayed  up  for  most  of  last  night  ranting  about  the  mysterious  thief  and  their  motives  on  twitter  —  and  flops  down  in  a  nearby  chair,  worn  out  from  all  the  pacing  she’s  been  doing.  she  stares  at  the  headphones  as  if  they’re  going  to  suddenly  become  sentient  and  turn  against  her.  it  wouldn’t  be  the  first  time  technology  has  fucked  them  over.

                    she  watches  as  aroma  picks  up  the  headphones,  still  being  cautious,  relieved  when  nothing  happens.  ❝  nah,  i  don’t  think  it’s  because  they  were  valuable  or  anything.  though  who  knows,  they  might  be,  considering  they’re  from  a  place  with  advanced  technology.  simon’s  helmet,  too.  but  that  doesn’t  explain  some  of  the  other  things  that  went  missing,  like  myde’s  cloak  and  stuff.  how  is  that  valuable  ??  ❞  she  sighs  loudly.  ❝  i  thought  castle  town  was  supposed  to  be  more  peaceful  than  home.  ❞

ezra !

Ezra rarely seemed like he was at work, given that he frequently hung around the arcade on his off days and rarely acted very seriously when he was on the job. In fact one of the few times he did pause to be serious in any manner was when it came time to help someone who had fallen in the rink, though he still remained calm and light hearted in his demeanor even as he rather carefully checked fallen patrons for injuries. Just now he’d had to carry someone with a sprained ankle up to the front to sit and wait for their ride, and he was currently skating back towards the rink itself. As he went he paused to greet people as he passed. “Hey, you look really good today,” Ezreal said with a warm smile. “Just wanted to tell you that!”

                    NEKO  USUALLY  COMES  to  the  arcade  and  skating  rink  for  the  former  activity  in  the  title  and  not  the  latter,  not  to  mention  to  see  genji  and  hana  and  parkour  around  with  her  friends,  but  she  does  skate  from  time  to  time,  when  she  feels  like  it.  she  only  ever  does  things  when  she  feels  like  it.  and  so  here  she  sits,  tying  the  skates  and  getting  a  feel  for  them  once  again  when  she  hears  ezra’s  voice.  she  grins  at  him  as  she  stands,  careful  not  to  lose  her  balance.  she  wouldn’t  look  good  if  she  fell  down.  ❝  i  always  do  !!  ❞  she  says.  ❝  but  thank  you  kindly.  ❞  she  makes  a  big  show  of  curtsying.  not  the  best  thing  to  do  while  wearing  skates,  but  she  makes  it  work.

                    NEKO  DOESN’T  KNOW  if  being  the  same  here  as  she  was  back  home  is  a  good  thing,  but  she  will  take  it  as  such.  after  all,  she  had  her  friends  back  home  and  they  didn’t  mind  spending  time  with  and  talking  to  her  there  (  most  of  the  time  ),  so  why  would  it  be  different  here  ??  she  thinks  she’s  just  lucky  that  she  has  found  the  people  she  has,  and  it  gives  her  hope  that  the  others  are  around  here  somewhere,  waiting  to  be  found.  now  isn’t  the  time  to  think  about  that,  though,  or  she  might  cry,  and  no  one  needs  that  right  now.  when  simon  speaks  again,  she  half-expects  to  be  turned  away  and  forced  to  wait  elsewhere.  if  so,  she  can  see  if  remi  is  around.  remi  is  always  happy  to  talk  to  her.  she  can’t  help  but  be  surprised  when  she’s  allowed  to  sit  in  the  booth,  and  she  grins,  eyes  lighting  up.  ❝  neko  promises  !!  ❞  she  says,  probably  too  loudly,  and  salutes.  ❝  you  won’t  hear  a  peep  out  of  me  !!  ❞  a  bit  of  a  tall  order  considering  her  personality,  but  if  it  meant  spending  time  with  her  friend,  she  would  make  it  happen.
