🔮Bonus Magic Tips🔮
Pick ingredients for your coffee that align with your ambitions for the day.
It can be used as an offering to deities, spirits, ancestors, etc.(e.g. for Sif I sweeten the coffee with oat milk + honey but for Hel I leave the coffee black for an offering)
Consider the way you stir! Counterclockwise banishes and repels negativity, clockwise invites + brings energy to you.
Stain pages for you journal, spell work, or book of shadows! You can also use a strong brewed coffee and a paint brush to paint sigils onto the pages! .
See the full post + bonus recipe at the hidden hearth patreon.

welcome new Witchblrites who aren't beginners: I hope this is helpful to you
Myself and friends have noticed a large influx of activity into witchblr, and since we've already had a king's ransom of how to witchblr posts for beginners, I'd like to present a how to witchblr post for practitioners who've already been at it a fair while.
So, if you're a practitioner who's already been at it for a fair while and this is your first time on the magically side of Tumblr, I gotta tell you:
There are a fuckton of belief systems coexisting here, and if you can't figure out how to be chill with that, you're going to have a bad time.
I remember my first culture shock coming onto Tumblr. I was a young witch of about 2 years experience or so, primarily raised up on a few books and one very insular witchcraft forum. "I know how magic works," I confidently told myself, because I was young.
And I got to Tumblr and basically immediately found out that no, I do not know how magic works. I know how magic works FOR ME. I know my own beliefs. But the second you step past your front porch and try to tell other people their ideas are wrong because they conflict with your personal beliefs, you're gunna have a bad time.
There are a lot of witches on Tumblr who flat out do not believe spirits or gods are real. And they're friends with theists and spirit-workers. There are a lot of witches on Tumblr who completely follow the psychological model, and they break bread with magic literalists. There are witches on Tumblr who aren't from the USA (****shocking!!) and will tear your "ackshually, here is what the colors REALLY mean" chart to shreds, because as it turns out, that's not what red symbolizes in the Philippines, nor do they give a flying fuck about the Golden Dawn has to say on the matter.
If you are uncomfortable existing in a space where people with different fundamental beliefs expect their ideas to be treated as equal to yours, Tumblr might not be the right site for you.
(and/or, this is a great opportunity to figure out how to not have an aneurysm when your entire personhood is based around [X MAGICAL THING] and someone dares comment "I don't believe in X, but [salient and helpful thought]" on a thread you're following)

This can be used on yourself by carrying it on yourself Drawing it on yourself Sleeping every night on a pillow with this sigil on it or inside it Burning it to ash and sprinkling those ashes into your shoes before going out for the day
or
This can be used on somebody else by drawing it on a picture of your target Drawing it next to their full name and date of birth Burning it to ash and sprinkling the ashes in your targets’ shoes

A set of sigils for elemental attunement! There’s some formatting differences in the writing because I was experimenting a little.

This is probably my favorite hex because it’s just so darn easy, and usually pretty effective.
The last time I used it was on a woman who was being baligerant to a cashier at the grocery, (the cashier was from India and this woman was telling her very loudly that she should go back to Iraq and stop taking a job from her poor Canadian granddaughter… I guess the granddaughter had applied there and not got the job? I don’t know the deets). I turned to her, clutched my necklace (it’s just an antique looking locket watch, nothing special), pointed to her and said the words just loud enough that she could tell it wasn’t English.
I guess it didn’t hurt that I was also dressed pretty witchy.
She was like, “Did you just curse me?!?” and I just smiled, winked at the cashier and walked out. I waited just outside the Second Cup that was next to the grocery to watch this lady come out… And didn’t she just trip over her own two feet in grand fashion on her way to her car! I laughed and I laughed and I laughed.
What? I’m not… No, who am I kidding… Yes I am a bitch.

SIGILS, MAGIC SQUARES, AND PLANETARY SEALS
The term sigil derives from the Latin sigillum, meaning "seal."
Sigils are a symbolic representation of a practitioner's desired outcome.
In medieval ceremonial magic, a sigil was a sign to represent various angels and demons that a witch may summon. Sigils are equivalent to the true name of the spirit, giving the practitioner a measure of control over the beings. These sigils were often created by converting the names of the spirits to numbers, then locating them on a magic square, connecting them by lines, and forming an abstract figure.
"In chaos magic, sigils are most commonly created by writing out the intention, then condensing the letters of the statement down to form a sort of monogram. The chaos magician then uses the gnostic state to "launch" or "charge" the sigil – essentially bypassing the conscious mind to implant the desire in the unconscious. To quote Ray Sherwin: The magician acknowledges a desire, he lists the appropriate symbols and arranges them into an easily visualised glyph. Using any of the gnostic techniques he reifies the sigil and then, by force of will, hurls it into his subconscious from where the sigil can begin to work unencumbered by desire."
(The gnostic state is an altered state of consciousness in which a person's mind is focused on only one point, thought, or goal, and all other thoughts are thrust out. This is used to bypass the filter of the conscious mind. There are three main types of gnosis: inhibitory gnosis, in which one enters a deep state of trance through meditation, ecstatic gnosis, in which one enters mindlessness through intense arousal, whether it be through sexual excitation, emotions, dance, chanting, drumming, sensory overload, hyperventilation, drugs, or any other means, and indifferent vacuity, in which the intended spell is cast passively, such as by doodling sigils while doing something else.)
Sigils can be made any number of ways, as long as it has significance to the user. One of the most common ways involves taking a word or phrase, writing it out, crossing out vowels and repeating letters, converting them into numbers, arranging the numbers in a circle or grid, and drawing lines connecting the numbers. It is also common that once one has crossed out vowels and repeating letters to break each letter down into its shapes and create a sigil using the basic lines and curves.
However one can incorporate anything they feel is fitting to the sigil. For example, if the purpose of the sigil is to help yourself sleep, it is fitting to incorporate a moon symbol.
Sigils can also be created using various magic squares, or Kameas.
In recreational mathematics, a square array of numbers, usually positive integers, is called a magic square if the sums of the numbers in each row, each column, and both main diagonals are the same. The order of the magic square is the number of integers along one side (n), and the constant sum is called the magic constant. . One can create a magic square from their own birthday by filling in the following template
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT MAGIC SQUARES
Celestial bodies also have magic squares that are derived from their divine names. Sigils can be drawn on these squares as they can be on any magic square. Choose a planet that corresponds with your intentions and then create a sigil as you normally would. These sigils, or the squares themselves, can be used a number of ways. They are a form of petition.
Seals are also able to be constructed by drawing lines that intersect every number within the magic square. While the squares or sigils set forces in motion, the seals being them to a halt, and are used to ward off, repel, or lessen the negative influences of the energy associated with the square. For example, during a retrograde, one can draw the seal of the planet over its square and use it as a petition.
----- The Magic Square of the Sun -----
The divine names associated with The Sun all have numerological values of 6 or 36. The name of the intelligence of the Sun has a value of 111 and the spirit of the Sun has a value of 666. These values are calculated by writing out the names in Hebrew and then adding up the value of each included letter, as each Hebrew letter can represent both a sound and a numerical value. The square contains 36 numbers, ranging from 1 to 36. Each row, column, and diagonal adds up to 111, and all the numbers in the square add up to 666.
----- The Magic Square of the Moon -----
The divine names associated with the Moon all have numerological values of 9 or 81. The name of the spirit of the moon has a value of 369. The names of the intelligency of the intelligence of the Moon and the spirit of the spirits of the Moon have a value of 3321. These values are calculated by writing out the names in Hebrew and then adding up the value of each included letter, as each Hebrew letter can represent both a sound and a numerical value. The square contains 81 numbers, ranging from 1 to 81. Each row, column, and diagonal adds up to 369, and all the numbers in the square add up to 3321.
PLANETARY SEALS
I'm not going to include all the magic squares for all the planets, it would take up too much space and time and this post would feel like it doesnt fuckin end, so instead I'm just gonna skip to the part where i tell you WHY these magic squares are important when they pertain to Planetary Seals. Planetary seals are sigils created with the magic squares. Each number will have a line through it that connects each and every number together. These create planetary seals and can be used to either assist your spellwork by invoking the energy of that planet, or burning a copy of the seal to prevent the fucked up energy that planet's retrograde motion throws around. This is especially useful for Mercury Retrograde.
The Seal of the Sun
The Seal of the Moon
Seal of Mercury
Seal of Venus
Seal of Mars
Seal of Jupiter
Seal of Saturn
Only the 5 observable/traditional planets and the two luminaries have planetary seals, so, there's no more past Saturn. Sorry.
You can copy these Planetary seals and use them as you would any other sigil, these evoke the energy of the planet to assist in whatever you may need them for.
Sun - Action, self-expression, transparency, leadership Moon - emotions, intuition, empathy, quick action, sensitivity, sensuality, fertility, inspiration, compassion Mercury - communication, short distance travel, commerce, anything to do with the mind, siblings, genderqueer expression (because Mercury is considered "fluid" in astrology) Venus - Love, creativity, passions, sex, beauty, lust Mars - Passion, activity, action, drive, short term projects, energy Jupiter - Long distance travel, luck, prosperity, wisdom, arts, culture, abundance, wealth, philosophy Saturn - responsibility, work, boundaries, restriction, long-term projects, knowledge.

Hi! are your sigil requests still open? If you don't mind, I'd like to request one for "I will heal" or just the word "healing" :-) I've been going through some stuff and it would mean a lot
The result looked a lot like that pharmacy sign with the serpent and everything!

Me, a swamp hag in a kitty cat night gown and rainbow socks: throw water in a jar with nails and a poppet and shake it as a hex. Put a penny above your door to attract money in your house. Use your local herbs and stones to do what ya want. Wind chimes attract spirits and bottles trap in negativity thrown your way. Throw dried chilis in the foot steps of your enemy to make them hotfooted and paranoid. Sigil and emoticon spells are fun and worked for me so eh whatever. Fuck circles, do whatever, folk magic is easy and quick
Elistist “trad” witch: Um ExCuSe Me?!? NO!! you have to have a circle and call the corners and your gods and goddesses! If has to take time, a lot of time!!!! and you have to do it exacyly like this *holds up instructions* and wear certain robes! Use only these crystals and herbs do NOT use or substitute anything else!!! Doing anything different is bad and fake!!!!! You have to only use our type of magic or youre wrong!!
Also me: another fun magic is to get some rocks and throw them to release certain feelings about something
* starts throwing stones and rocks at the elitists*
