What did you think about the Q&A?
Regarding Hans' family, I think his answer is similar to my imagination. I feel that Hanji should have grown up in an ordinary, or rather, a family that would not give readers any emotional impact. She may have many brothers and sisters, which make her not indispensable in the family, and don't need to worry about food, so she have a relatively good environments to learn.
Hanji seemed to be very grateful for other's understanding, but not self-doubt too much. So I feel that she and her family might have different views on way of life and the world, but her parents did not give her too many expectations nor restrictions as well as love and attentions. These disagreement didn't cause her too much trouble.
In AOT, most characters have very complex and painful relationships with their parents. Many teenagers, such as Reiner and Historia, are struggling to seek recognition and appreciation from their parents. In contrast, Hanji's relationship with her family may be quite ordinary or boring. Of course she worried about the lives and health of her family like a normal person, but did not care about their opinions or consider changing her ways to cater to their preferences.
In short, I believe that she grow up with a free but lonely childhood. she would build her own value on the base of her ideals and career, rather than family. Her family did not bring her much warmth, but also did not bring any rough trauma that needed to be healed, which made her neither like nor dislike to marry (she claimed that she did not get married just because it was very hard to find a partner who respected her ways and did not need her care too much).
I think she has a good childhood, compared with other characters.
As for her not settling down, I think it's also expectable. After all, the world has been destroyed by Eren, and she will definitely take on the responsibility to rebuild the world and hold the spirit of SC, and she also want to understand the outside world.
Isym's answer also subtly circumvented the question of whether Hanji and Levi would live together. I think Levi would like to settle down and set up a black tea shop, so their plans for the future are not quite aligned. But considering C139, I think Levi will also be pleasant to travel with Hanji occasionally, after all, Levi also wanted to see the world they once fought for. And when they were not together, Hanji would send him many souvenirs and write long letters. They would still be family, just working in different places most of the time, haha.

In the Aot bessatsu magazine there is a Q&A with Isayama about Hange. He said that if they had lived, they would have traveled. Are you planning to translate these?
Tumblr media
Q: Among main characters, only Hanji-san's family has not been described. Does Hanji-san have some brothers or sisters?
A: There is an impression that she is distant from her family
Q:If there is a world line that Hanji-san is alive, would she live with Levi/Falco/Gabi together?
A: I feel that the role she's going to take on will be busy and flying around, so I don't have the impression that she will settle down(定住).

There was a scene where Hange Levi and Yelena were sitting at the table talking. I don't know what page it was and Levi was saying "made him laugh". Most people say that Levi was talking about Erwin but I think that was a mistranslation, what exactly did he say there.
Tumblr media
It means:That(そいつ)seems(らしい) quite ridiculous(笑える)
笑える means laughable, ridiculous. There is no “him” in the sentence.

It's very normal for a person to idolize and follow someone. But one of the things that bothers me is that Isayama touted it as a characteristic of the Ackermans. It's one of the things that caused fans to take that and create a fan concept called ackerbond. It feels kind of dehumanizing to me.
It is obvious from the context that Isym was more like trying to summarize the commonality among Kenny, Levi, and Mikasa, that they have all idealized someone , rather than touting it as the characteristics of Ackermans.
Levi's mother and grandfather are also Ackermans, and Mikasa's father is also Ackerman, however, they have not followed any lieges, they were just normal people who gave everything they had for their families.

I mean… there's actually something called ackerbond. They sort of follow their liege, but then when their ideals go awry, they become sort of "freed slaves"? So it hasn't been completely debunked.
there is no sort of "freed slaves"... slave of freedom is what they called Eren I remember?
Zeke has already told Eren that Ackerman did not have any genes that followed liege, Mikasa protected Eren just because she loved him.
So we can see that this setting has been debunked by the characters in the manga. And Levi has been proven to have awakened his power during the underground street when he tried to get back his mother's belongings, which had nothing to do with Erwin And Kenny also had awakened his power long before he met Uri
On the contrary, compared to other Eldias whose memories can be even modified by the kings , Ackermans are clearly the least slave-like people among them

Hello! I recently read the smartpass story in which Levi buys pastries for the “new commander” and the “youngsters”. I was sure it was about Hange and 104s, and I was surprised that some people think it was about Erwin and Levi's old squad. Is there any evidence that it was specifically about Erwin? I personally think that this was left open to interpretation, so everyone could think about the one commander they want (but this being about Hange still makes more sence for me haha)
Is there any evidence that it was specifically about Erwin?
no, the wording used in the story is the new Commander and the youngsters surviving in the battle, so they cannot be Erwin and Levi's old Squad. don't know why they have such misunderstandings, maybe they just cannot read

hahahaha, I don't care other official material about levihan that much. In my point of view, “let’s live together” is a 95% romantic phrase, unless Levi answered “sorry, I don’t want that”, I would not think they have no romantic feelings hahahahahahhaha.
Why are people so obsessed with this relationship chart, which was probably made by the anime team, just like any other offical anime art? Did they really expect it to say "mutual romantic feelings" between Levi and Hange lol. But instead it makes sense to write mutual respect considering they are two comrades who have been fighting back to back for years. At least the antis won't use the argument that Levi doesn't respect/hates Hange
Yes to all of this lmao

what do you think about Zeke in the last episode? Did you like how it was animate?
Zeke's part gives me a very flat feeling. But it's better than the previous part, at least Zeke looks like a gentle and intellectual person rather than a wild man...
And seeing his butt made me laugh, hahahaha
But his lines are also well revised, clearer than manga

I think more exactly speaking, Levi's obsession is not with clean things/places, but with... cleaning up dirty things/places.. So he become a cleaner although it means he has to deal with countless dirty things..
and he also likes talking..
As an insecure Levihan, I would like to say that I feel a big gap between Levi and Hange. For example, in terms of personality, Levi is a clean and quiet type, while Hange is messy and noisy, and I find it difficult to build a scenario how they can get close to each other. And I think the Levihan fandom has become a bit insecure and diminishing these days.
They interact just fine with their differences. They complete and support each other. This is why their bond is so close and why so many people thought they might become life partners.

Hello! I hope you’re alright. I would like your help if It’s not too much to ask. ^_^
i was on twt and an account shared this final season characters relationship chart. This one is from Hange and Levi. This traslator said this mean they mutually respect each other and my google traslator said other thing lol. not to think the girl did a bad traslation, but I would ask for your Help in traslate this, please. I like the way you dissect the pheases when you offer a traslation :)
ハンジ⇔リヴァイ 互いを認め合っている。
tks for your kind word
認め合う, the meaning is to mutually recognize, to agree, to accept(each other's behavior, ability or idea, etc). So I think it indeed refers to relationship with mutual respect.

hello, nenithill! Did you Watch the last episode? Did you like it?
hello! I watched it. Overall, I really liked this episode and thought it was better than other episodes. I especially enjoyed Armin's VA,she expressed emotions that neither words nor pictures could express. The lines from C139 was also adapted much clearerly and less Eren-centered.
But as a Levi stan, I feel like this episode didn't express Levi's emotions well, e.g., the expression when he killed Zeke, when he had to give up Jean and Connie. Also, I really wish they could make gifs of the Survey Corps instead of PPT....

In the CD drama Levi said to Hange 何を悠長なことを言ってやがる。獣のクソ野郎は、 また、 生きている which it was translated as: Levi: We don't have time to be resting, you idiot. The Beast, that shithead, is still alive.
Is this translation right?
It means
What are you talking so leisurely about? The bastard beast,is still alive.
悠長 means leisurely, or slow, long (talk). What he want to say should be ‘it's not the time for sentiment, we shouldn't dwell on the shadows of the past”
the expression やがる is used to imply the emotions of scorn or dislike, but Levi is used to talking so rudely. So it's just a modal particle here. We shouldn't translate it as ' you idiot '.

I have read stories of Marshal Dehuai Peng, and feel so sad.
I think he is one of the few true idealists in CCP. He is talented in war and not afraid of any powerful enemy. It's only him that dares to fight against Japan and US.
But he has never been obsessed with war, honor, or violence. After the war ended, he earnerstly learned and worked for agricultural and industrial production, and sincerely advocated for democracy. He had never show off his victories, instead, he said he hoped that after his death, his ashes can be buried under the apple tree of his home as fertilizer.
He is different from most soldiers who used women as tools for venting hatred and showcasing masculinity. He even dared to publicly accuse his "comrades" of playing with women. But what did he get at last? a few decades after his death, he would be seen as a great hero by most civilians, but while he was alive, I've seen that he was regarded more as an disobedient trouble, a person who didn't "understand human nature".
What was he thinking when he was beaten by the people he fought for, when he cried bitterly after he heard the news of the Cultural Revolution, and died in agony while imprisoned? Is it just like Levi, did he think, are these the results of all the struggle and sacrifice? Would the ideal country that we desired never come true?
Human world is so unreasonable

Some details about Levi's plan of retreat
Tumblr media
Saw some discussions that Levi plans to exchange the lives of everyone else for Erwin(and Eren)'s life alone.
So I post the Japanese original. It's not Levi's idea
あそこで伸びてるエレンを起こしてこい
Go to wake up Eren who fell over there
そのエレンにお前と何人じゃを乗せて逃げろ
You and anyone ride Eren to escape
少しでも生存者を残す
So we can keep a few survivors
As we see, Levi said that Erwin and "anyone" would escape with Eren, not Erwin alone.
Tumblr media
新兵とハンジたちの生き残りが馬で一斉に散らばり...帰路をめざすのはどうだ
How about the recruits, the survivors of Hanji and others scattered together, riding in the direction of return route?
それを囮にしてお前らを乗せたエレンが駆け抜ける
Use that as bait and you guys ride Eren to get out.
Here, Levi was still not talking about letting you escape on Eren, but letting you guys(お前ら) escape on Eren.
It is plural "you". Such translated problems have appeared countless times
In other words, his suggestion is that Eren take a few people away(not Erwin alone) and others on horses as bait.
It does make sense, because Eren can take several people.
Moreover, considering that Eren is actually the biggest and most dangerous target, I'm afraid it may not be much safer than other "baits"
In Levi's whole plan, the only one who would undoubtedly be sacrificed is himself left behind to distract the Beast Titan
