Goofy Transformer idea:

Transformer who scans the first vehicle they see for an alt mode b/c they're in a hurry to hide.

Except they scanned an ice cream truck so now they're plastered in picture of frozen treats, have a garish colour scheme, play a catchy jingle as they drive and are somehow MORE conspicuous than if they'd just scanned a sports car or something.

You know, idw1's Decepticons(really any version of the Decepticons that started with them opposing a fascistic government) are very reflective of how people see radical action. The Autobots are the good guys because they want to change the system from within, and the Decepticons are the bad guys because they use violence to fight back against their oppressors. Now I'm aware that the Decepticons can truly be despicable people, I'm not saying otherwise. Megatron killed a hundred billion people for crying out loud. Still, their origins are honestly emblematic of how people see activism. Peaceful protests, and working within the system are seen as acceptable, but violence? Wouldn't that be too far?

And idw2's Decepticons become a good contrast to the idw1 Decepticons where they are hard-line conservatives. Go back to the way things are, smaller central government, organics bad, make cybertron great again. And the Autobots consequently become a representation of the ineffectiveness of democrats. Megatron is Trump, and Optimus...I don't really know who Optimus would represent, now that I think about it.

A Message from a Tumblr Prime

The Transformers fandom has finally been given an update on the status of Transformers One, and not the kind it was hoping for:

Josh Cooley confirmed that Paramount has no plans to continue forward with a sequel to the 2024 movie at this time.

This can be blamed on:

the movie’s underperformance at the box office,

Hasbro deciding to no longer fund movies,

Paramount’s upcoming merger with Skydance,

The shift of priorities regarding animated movies.

I know how this looks, everyone, so I’ve compiled a list of facts and speculation to clear up any confusion before someone gets hurt:

Josh said no sequel is CURRENTLY being planned.

The entire trilogy for all three movies has already been mapped out by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and he’s still very hopeful it will happen one day. And when I say mapped out, I mean extensively, beginning middle and end. If Skydance likes it, they could very well greenlight it. It would also lower the risk when/if Paramount decides to revisit it.

The cast WANTS to come back for it.

The movie is actually performing better on streaming AND internationally than it did in just the American box office. This is what the executives are actually paying attention to.

If there’s no hiccups with the Skydance merger, this could mean animation veterans mixed with new animators. Skydance’s animation style fits perfectly with the animation style of Transformers One.

Hasbro does not own the film rights to Transformers. Paramount does. If anything, Hasbro pulling back from film funding means Paramount has MORE room to make creative decisions and listen to the audiences instead of watching the schedule for toy releases.

We are not alone in this.

You may not see it loudly, but many in the fandom DO love this movie, and ARE just as angry it flopped and ARE organizing campaigns to prove it.

There is no material difference between a plain shirt and a rainbow-colored shirt. They are fundamentally the same, it's just that the rainbow-colored shirt was made by the manufacturer to appeal to queer folk, in order to make more money.

That said, there's nothing wrong with queer folk. Or rainbows.
