Random very self indulgent Tenna x reader headcanons cus I need to write them down or I will forget them.

• He will literally yap your ear off. It's a combination of both habit from having to keep things moving while on TV, and he's just one of those people that can't ever be comfortable in silence. I think he probably prefers if you respond otherwise he gets in his head about it. But even if you don't say much, he feels at ease as long as he knows you don't mind listening to him talk. You would probably have to remind him of that though. Like a lot. I think he would love being with someone who is also a yapper because it makes him feel engaged with.

• He's always making references to shows and movies. Probably very funny and witty ones too. The catch is most of the time it's referencing random old obscure shit that you haven't seen. But when you recognize them, he's delighted. I think over time he learns to dial it in (haha) to things he knows you'll get.

• His favorite thing to do just hanging out around the house is to play something on his screen so that you can watch. He can just sit there even in a position that looks uncomfortable for hours, because just feeling your eyes on him makes him feel so comfortable and satisfied that he doesn't notice anything else. It's just inherent to him being a TV. To him holding eye contact is like being held. He does like it even more if you can be touching somehow the whole time. I think he would absolutely love it to lay on his back and have someone lay front to front on top of him, so that you could hug and cuddle while you watch.

• Despite being a certified yapper he will stay quiet when he's playing something. Mostly. He's not giving everything the full Mystery Science Theater 3000 treatment, but he will cut in every now and then to commentate. Doesn't even bother to bring out his face, it's just his disembodied voiceover like a twitch streamer reacting live lmao.

• If you hate making eye contact with people, he's probably immune to this as he literally has no eyes. If you found it easier to look at him I think he would definitely notice, and it would make him feel so special heehee. (I think about this a lot. I never look at people in the eye. I feel like it would be way easier to look at him though.)

• I don't even think this is a headcanon it's just canon. He's a cornball. I feel like he really likes to flirt by doing overly drawn out bits. Not sure how to word that. He's one of those people who likes to string you along some stupid ass hypothetical scenario. There's no wrong answer either because he would be delighted if you play along but also if you get flustered and flounder around trying to match his freak. And by freak I mean silly billy. He is silly. He just says shit. He likes to play pretend.

I'm usually a big stickler for technical "accuracy" when it comes to my robots (like, I like thinking about how they're structured and what specific components they have, etc.), but... I'm not immune to the idea of smoke/steam coming out of Tennas head when he's flustered. CRTs don't have fans or cooling systems or anything- they get HOT and they're made to withstand that- but... it just adds a certain something, yknow??? Having his screen go pink isn't enough, I want him to fog up my glasses‼️‼️‼️

His Love Is...

...selfless.

Rosinante is someone who chose to live a hard life because of his ideals, not because he desires to be someone. He is a sensitive idealist who seeks to leave this world a better place, thus he does everything in his power to achieve that goal. He has profound emotional reactions to injustice and cruelty and doesn’t want to repeat the same cycle: His sins weigh heavily on his mind with deep regret, but the very same hard life he’s picked out for himself didn’t leave him with more options. With his self-sacrificial tendencies, he would always choose the lesser evil, even if it puts him at a disadvantage.

Naturally, such an empathetic individual loves far more deeply than the unassuming general public might assume. He longs for a connection that binds souls together – he isn’t interested in skin-deep entanglements, he wants real commitment from his partner. Once found, Rosinante would consistently go out of his way to preserve that relationship. He sincerely believes in true love.

Due to him being incredibly in-tune with his emotions, as soon as he suspects to have fallen in love with you, he is, for the first time in forever, emotionally stumped. Rosinante knows that you’re strong; he’s admired you for your own efforts for years, but he doesn’t want to drag you into his mess and potentially compromise – if not corrupt – you. He tends to put you on a pedestal out of selflessness, just to keep you safe, but he will soon find out that he cannot commit to the restrictions he has put on himself. He cannot be far away from you for too long, he cannot forget about and, what he realises once he’s on that wretched war path of his own choosing, he cannot let go.

The vision of you grips him and chokes him out with his endless affections for you. You’re the only thing he wants to be selfish about. Nobody else can have you for he has known you for so long, he’s built a relationship with you and he’s willing to take the plunge and take it further. You bring out the best in him – the man who, despite his own demons haunting him, doesn’t want to give up on himself, the man who has something to look forward to, the man who has someone waiting for him at the end of the line. His resolve is strengthened, even if you are unaware of the depth of his devotion… you were meant to be, which means that carelessly throwing away his own life would mean betraying you and your faith in him to keep himself save. Rosinante knows that people like you have it rough out there – he’s been through the same thing. Love Language

PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Acts of Service

With his… affliction – his unabashed clumsiness – it’s a bit of a gamble, but he genuinely does long to make your life easier. He’s there to take some burdens off your shoulders and that sentiment only grows stronger as time progresses. Sometimes life gets to you and there is no shame in admitting that. People can be too much, obligations can be too much, Hell, even your own thoughts can be too much to handle… and there is, again, no shame in admitting that. Rosinante wants you to feel safe in his presence, he actually loves to know these things so he’s able to adjust to your needs accordingly. He does this precisely because you’d do the same thing. Whether it’s as small as calling your workplace for you – your kindness not allowing you to selfishly take a day off out of some weird guilt-tripping you’ve caught yourself in – or as big of a gesture as trading his own life for yours, he’d do it. Besides, he loves to hear your melodic laughter during your hardest times, even if you’re laughing at the way he face-planted into the ground while trying to change your sheets. You’re always there for him, so he wants to be there for you, too.

SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Physical Touch

So… he’s definitely unbelievably touch and affection-starved. He hasn’t known a gentle or loving touch since his parents died, and for the longest time, gentle hands unsettled him due to the danger it proved to be in the past. Rosinante doesn’t doubt you, so he allows himself to reach out to you to satisfy his yearning for love. It’s subtle most of the time, simply holding hands while you’re out and about, but in the privacy of your living space, he turns to mush in your arms. He’s particularly into cuddling, deriving a lot of satisfaction from being able to feel you against him whenever you’re together.

Rosinante would melt if your primary love language was Words of Affirmation.

He’s denied himself many things, but would never shy away from your honest declarations of love. You’re the only person he trusts to mean it and it makes his heart sing, knowing that you’re a constant presence in his life and will forever honour your promises… Life can be so sweet sometimes.
