Media Trope Pet Peeves

These two characters who have either had their romantic story line hard-lined ended in a previous season with no lingering hints towards remaining feelings for each other OR these two characters who had 1 or 2 potentially romantic and/or scenes at the beginning of the series but literally no lingering even tiny hints towards anything romantic for the remainder of the series until the finale, are now magically in love with one another and secretly have been all this time (despite significant romantic relationships with other characters and/or more potential romantic moments with other characters). I would maybe forgive them if they were later like "oh yeah my want/need for this weirdo butt behavior is because of some other issue/plot point then MAYBE. (See also "platonic heterosexual relationships are not allowed to exist".jpg).

This character who has previously made it extremely clear that they do not want children, marriage, or both now ALL OF A SUDDEN WANTS THEM and it's painted as character "growth" to want something more traditional. (There's nothing wrong with wanting children, marriage, or both, but when there are characters that already want it very much, or, there are already characters who previously didn't have a hard stance but through plot elements and story arcs gradually did change their mind, and then the character who actually ends up with marriage, children, or both is the ONE PERSON WHO PREVIOUSLY SAID THEY DID NOT WANT ONE OR BOTH OR EITHER). See also no one is allowed to be happy and single because not having a romantic relationship clearly means that you're emotionally damaged and not that maybe you'd rather not be in a romantic relationship just for the sake of it or that it's not for you or you have other priorities.

This show is an established procedural and we weave the characters' personal stories through the "case of the week" style format in one of the most delicious tapestries of delicious media but now we are going to change it so that the characters' personal stories are the forefront which then cause the cases to become secondary or non-existent in some episodes and bonus points because this often comes with extreme changes to established character traits and/or relationships. Honorable Mention: "We tried to break so many world records that we have broken the world record for most failed attempts at breaking a world record."

Intro Post

I am an incredibly curious person and want to learn everything, despite knowing how unrealistic that is.

I am aiming to one day work in the field of cognitive science research, specifically neuroscience, preferably neurocriminology (though that’s an extremely new field and I’ll have to wait a few years). At this point, however, I am working from home while working towards a career in voiceover and voice acting.

My interests are listed where indicated below under a cut, but overall, I’m am interested in 1990s stuff, analog horror, creating things, criminology, cute things, fantasy, fashion, history, learning in general, sci-fi, medicine, psychology, and science. I also have a variety of favorite YouTubers.

This blog is largely a place for me to delve into my non-fandom related interests but there may be fandom posts from time to time.

There will also be a heavy focus on aesthetics, listed where indicated below.
