I’ve got it . if you’ve got any paper towels though I’d be much obliged. don’t want anyone to slip .❜

It was her first day working at the bakery; the princess from a far off galaxy had very little idea what to do, it was her charm that landed her the job. She had barely survived the rush and now it was almost time for her break. The last thing she expected however before she took the well-needed rest, was to spill a cup of coffee on the jacket of one of her customers.

hand lingering on the open door of his vehicle , before he gets in he all but stopped to grin and stifle a barked laugh cough. hair tossed over his shoulder with a glance back at the man .  

                                    ❛ Apparently the kind I admire. It’s a class act I gotta say. ❜

          “ Hm? ” A blink of his eyes in curiosity, attention drawn in the direction of the source of the familiar voice. Another blink of them in surprise at the sight of the former knight — not having expected to see him there. Especially on this particular day, out of all days. Valentine’s Day was… a busy day for many, and Mamoru supposed a part of him had simply assumed that most of his friends and companions had their days set. “ Ah, Nephrite. What a surprise to see you he—… ” His words were promptly cut off in mid-sentence when his gaze was drawn to settle on the decorative single pink rose in the other’s hand.

The act itself was… well, it was a surprise — most probably only one of the points of the small gift to begin with. A surprise, but a welcomed one at that. Slowly, a fond smile would begin to form on the future king’s lips as he’d accept the flower in his hand. For his happiness… Such a noble, and kind gesture. Really, despite the fact that Mamoru was living a vastly different life in comparison to the one of Prince Endymion, and despite the fact that the memories would always linger with him, it would seem like the knights would still always have their own sense of loyalty to him to this day — even if their current roles were different. A part of Mamoru couldn’t simply help but feeling a sense of… pride, and yet—… the bigger part of him truly wished the best for them; hoping they would find a purpose much like he had. This single rose meant to symbolize Mamoru’s happiness, but Nephrite, being the kind soul that Mamoru knew he actually was deep down, was indeed just as much worthy of such a concept. And this gift alone was the very proof of that.

Despite the moment being ever so brief — with Nephrite already turning on his spot to return to his car, there was no denying that the other had put thought into this. The fond smile still lingered on Mamoru’s lips as he’d watch his friend walk away, chuckling to himself in amusement as he parted his lips to speak.

          “ Hey now, what kind of a man decides to show up unannounced, leave a rose, and then depart after dropping a few lines of words? ”

THE PRINCE OF EARTH & HIS HEAVENLY KNIGHTS

When we look back upon heroes, they were never beautiful. As the classics once found their gaze upon them, these heroes held their palms to the stars. Fate embedded itself into the fibers of skin, as if it could throttle them. If they could force time to begin again, they would always find the path that would lead them to battlefield. Yet, they are beloved by history, despite how stubborn they were, despite the lessons they sought to teach, even such teachings were silent. The tales spun of heroes whispered upon its listeners the norms of the world, that women were meant as prizes and men were meant to topple mountains, as if to silent the children that will hold sticks in their hands and pretend them to be swords, and wonder why they weren’t meant to save the day as well.
