Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Broken Pact Warlock
It's okay if your #DnD warlock experiences cognitive dissonance after striking an eldritch pact. Buyer's remorse won't stop these warlocks from unlocking magical mysteries #staynerdy
Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted pick up on a conversation started during a live chat about the concept of fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons warlocks with broken pacts between their Otherworldly Patrons. The three ways Dave and Ted approached the idea of a Broken Pact warlock represent very different and very cool perspectives for this discussion. If they’d stuck…

Salutations, nerds! It’s that time of the week again and we’re going to be talking about Performance skill challenges for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons. A flumph may just turn out to be your #DnD adventurers' best friend and most valuable asset #staynerdy
We receive requests fairly regularly around the ol’ Nerdarchy offices and we’re happy to oblige whether they’re character builds for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons, Game Master advice or in this case an appeal for more flumph! Over on our Facebook page we were asked, “Could you do an article about the flumph? They are the red headed step child of the aberrationfamily.” Flumphs have been a part…

It is time again! Hero Forge continues to put out new additions and features for their customized tabletop miniatures every week called Treasure Tuesdays. I have been talking about how great Hero Forge is for a while but if you’re seeing this post as your first preview by Nerdarchy then let me tell you they are an amazing service allowing you to 3D design your customized miniatures for tabletop roleplaying games. The options are astounding with all the races, gear, accessories and articulation with more new options every week. And in the very near future the color printing options from their Hero Forge 2.0 Kickstarter will be available in wide release for everyone to use and be astounded by. The revised website is smoother and even more user friendly. I love Hero Forge and have loads of miniatures and STL files purchased from them. You have to check out all the wondrous options from the wonderful people over at Hero Forge.
Define your 5E D&D character with double weapons
One of the latest Hero Forge updates released a series of double weapons and the hand positioning to properly wield them. Not all roleplaying rulesets include double weapons so if your table is not using double weapons you can replace the weapon type with an alternate option making it a regular sword, spear or whatever. This being said without further ado allow me to present four weapons for use for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons.
Kyshut-lilor
Weapon (Scimitar or double scimitar), legendary (requires attunement)
This elegant blade has no extraordinary identifying features but feels significantly lighter than other weapons of its size and make up. The blade(s) appear to be made of normal steel and the edge is razor sharp.
You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The sword has 5 charges. Whenever you attack a creature with this magic weapon on your turn you can expend a charge to move with blinding speed. You can target each other creature of your choice within range and, if the original attack roll can hit it, those creatures also take the damage from your attack.
It regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn.
Svent Makaid
Weapon (longsword or double longsword), very rare (requires attunement)
The Svent Makaid is a weapon designed for destruction and death. It most likely comes from a time and place far removed from a typical fantasy world. How it got here you are unsure. As with all technological gear magic only goes so far. Thankfully this one is fairly straightforward. A small series of buttons located near the grips shows how the moving blades move.
You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The sword rips and tears flesh easily and is incapable of doing subdual damage as it is designed as an instrument of death. The blade can be turned On or Off as a bonus action. When it is off it is a +2 magic weapon. When the switch is moved to On the blades begin whirling and move at a blurring pace around the edge of the weapon. The weapon is not silent and is audible out to 200 feet. While On the sword deals an extra d6 slashing damage and targets must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take an additional 2d6 slashing damage.
When the sword has been On for a total of 10 minutes, the power ceases to function until you finish a long rest.
Tibynner
Weappn (spear or double spear), very rare (requires attunement)
This spear’s chiseled edges come to seriously sharp points. Waves of folded metal during the forging process can be seen along the entire surface of the dark steel and it glistens in the light.
You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you attune to the spear and whenever you finish a long rest you choose two maneuvers from among those available to the Battle Master archetype in the fighter class. If a maneuver you use requires your target to make a saving throw to resist the maneuver’s effects, the saving throw DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice). You gain three superiority dice, which are a d6 (this die is added to any superiority dice you have from another source). You regain your expended superiority dice when you finish a short or long rest.
Tefeness
Weapon (trident or double trident), very rare (requires attunement)
The weapon has the dull grey tines of its fork sticking out of bright gold. This weapon is sturdy and holds up to whatever punishment is enacted upon it. The weapon in indestructible.
You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While holding this weapon you gain a +1 bonus to your Armor Class. In addition on your turn you can transfer some or all of the trident’s bonus to your Armor Class, instead of using the bonus on any attacks that turn. For example, you could reduce the bonus to your attack and damage rolls to +1 and gain a +2 bonus to AC. The adjusted bonuses remain in effect until the start of your next turn, although you must hold the trident to gain a bonus to AC from it. While you are attuned to this weapon it cannot be removed forcibly from your grasp.
When you are hit by an attack you can use your reaction to roll d6 and add that number to your AC for that attack. Once you use this property you can’t use it again until you finish a short rest.

Your customized 5E D&D double weapons
So there you have it. Four new magic double weapons to add to your 5E D&D game inspired by the amazing options now available at Hero Forge. Feel free to change things up to suit your needs and tastes. Maybe instead of a double trident Tefeness is a regular trident in your game, or a greataxe — whatever works best for your game, your group or your antagonist. As with all magic items I like to include a property for characters who attune to them to be able to change the weapon into one that suits them better.
If you like miniatures you have to check out Hero Forge and all the awesome tools they have over there. Thanks for reading. Until next time, stay nerdy! Check out Hero Forge and create your own customized tabletop miniatures with epic weapons here.
New Epic Double Weapons from @HeroForgeMinis cranked out these incredible new #DnD magic weapons as treasure for heroes or deadly threats for villains #staynerdy It is time again! Hero Forge continues to put out new additions and features for their customized tabletop miniatures every week called Treasure Tuesdays.

Shiny! | Tool Time with Jeweler's Tools in 5E D&D
There's an embarrassment of riches when it comes to gems and jewelry in #DnD but that sweet tool proficiency puts your adventurer deep in the know about those shinies #staynerdy

If you’re like me and easily distracted by shinies then this is the post for you because today we’re talking about jeweler’s tools in fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons! As a quick aside proficiencies are a core mechanic of 5E D&D. However, tool proficiencies don’t fit neatly into the mechanic due to their more nebulous nature. Your own Dungeon Master might rule things differently from how we…

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Fey Court Mage Slayer

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted dispense with mirth in favor of misery for a long awaited Character Build Guide for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons.
