I think the only way to get all of New England on board with secession or unification is to have a capital that the host state isn’t proud of. So, may I nominate the likes of:
Pittsfield, MA
Bridgeport, CT
Bangor, ME
Cranston, RI
And the like
hello i hope you can appreciate or at least evaluate this idea of mine to fix the us states, i got rid of the emptiest ones and tried to include an equal number of big cities/metropolitan areas for most of them; i also imagined what the capital cities could be bases on the largest one but in some cases i went with the second largest if it was more central. i didn't name them on this map but they would mostly be the same as currently (the san francisco one would be nevada since it's where the sierra nevada actually lies for the most part). also i wasn't sure what to name the pittsburgh one but i suppose erie would be an apt choice
I live one town over from Cambridge and going there practically doubles my blood pressure. To me it’s the poorly managed urban design, but especially the fact that so many people see Harvard Square as a Disneyland for upper class folks. Harvard itself is basically a tourist trap (on top of everything else), and that fact only works to make Cambridge denizens and other locals’ lives worse (ridiculous cost of living, near Greenwich, CT levels of elitism, poor political coordination with Boston, etc.). It’s a selfish place.
There’s a liquor store near me that has some low-price gourmet food. So anyways, 20-something me got carded for a baguette once

i gotta say "we need to keep voting the same party into power every election forever to save liberal democracy" is just on its face a deeply funny thing to believe
