It happened… it finally happened… we got covid 😭

Friday morning Mia said she was feeling sick.. nothing unusual she says it every morning because she wants to stay in bed a bit longer, she was a bit sniffly and had a fake sounding cough so I done a lollipop test, negative. But since she was still sniffly I kept her home from school anyway, I got my dad to watch her while I took Valerie to daycare… and I get back and the test has a faint positive. Since it was outside the time frame I didn’t think too much of it but decided to do a nasal swab test anyway just in case… and it comes up a strong positive straight away 😬 I then got my dad to pick Valerie up from daycare and took her and myself to get pcr tested when Robert finished work

The next morning I wake up to see my results are in (negative) but not Valerie’s. 3 hours later Valerie’s come and she’s positive at a low level which means she’s either just getting it or just getting over it.

Other than a slight runny nose and a fake sounding cough Mias been fine, Valerie hasn’t had any symptoms at all.

Today I wake up feeling like death…. And test positive. I’m glad the kids don’t feel like this but damn do I wish they weren’t so full of life 😩

I wish I had exciting things to update on! 😭

We’ve been pretty boring this year, everything’s pretty just the same as last 😂

Although I’ve just decided I want to try phlebotomy, unfortunately there are no courses or jobs near me 😂 it would be pretty cool though.

Oh and I’ve been binge watching greys anatomy, I’d never seen it before and a friend thought I was crazy 😂

Well time for my annual update i guess, since apparently its been almost a year since i last posted 😂

Mia

Starting primary school next year, she’s beyond thrilled

Her glasses prescription has gone up around 10 points in a year, she now has to see the optometrist every 6 months

She’s come out of her shell SO much in the past year but she’s also become more stubborn and sassy

She has a “boyfriend” (her words, not mine) who is our neighbour, we have a ladder in our yard that goes to their cubby house and the kids climb back and forth and play all day, its so great

Valerie

Started daycare like 5 months ago, she rules the place apparently and absolutely loves it there (she goes to a different daycare to mias preschool because there were no spots available there until recently)

She’s such a daredevil, definitely keeps me on my toes, she’s just recently learned she can take a step stool into their bedroom and use it to help her onto the first step of the bunk beds and climbs on up (I’ve had to hide the steps in the laundry and bring them out when she actually needs them so she doesn’t end up hurting herself if she falls off the bunk if were not in there)

I stopped breastfeeding a couple months ago much to her dismay, she got over it quick though

Me

Started another new job at the end of December (different job from my last post 😂)

Its at an aged care facility so I’ve also had the COVID vaccine (Pfizer) sore arm and an on and off migraine for 2 days afterward wasn’t too bad, highly recommend

I had been debating wether or not i wanted to have any more kids and was leaning toward no till i heard our friends are pregnant again and i got jealous so now I’m thinking maybe when Valerie starts school 😂

Robert

Got a promotion and is now a manager 🎉

Has had a string of health problems including a lung cancer scare (it wasn’t) yet he still refuses to quit smoking

In 4 days we’ve been together 8 years and it will be our 2 year wedding anniversary in November

Anyway that’s all i can think of off the top of my head, I’ll see y’all for next years update 😂😂

Asked Mia to stand in front of the flowers so I could take her picture with them and this is what she gave me 💁‍♀️

Anyway we all know I’m bad with updating so here we go... I got a job! Well the same job I’ve had on and off for the past 9 years but a job none the less, gives me something to do for a few hours a couple days a week. I also joined a gym! I’ve lost two kilos in two weeks, probably would have been more if my whole household wasn’t sick the past week so I couldn’t go.

Valerie’s walking now, that’s a heap of fun, she’s into everything and chasing everyone. She points to everything she wants and to where she wants to go which is super helpful in figuring out what she wants.

Mia’s taken up golf, she goes with Robert every weekend and seems to love it, she doesn’t actually play but she’ll have a hit every now and then. She’s doing so well in preschool too and her teachers say she’s improved out of sight with her social skills, even at home she goes out and plays with the neighbour kids over the back fence every day when she used to be too shy to even talk to them.

And finally, it’s out 1 year wedding anniversary tomorrow! We’ll be going out to dinner Thursday night to celebrate, just the two of us 😁

I done a blood test today and it came back “completely negative” My doctor doesn’t know why I got three positives but said if it were a chemical pregnancy I’d bleed... I haven’t even had spotting but she cancelled my future appointment 🤷‍♀️

Anyway this happened today, I feel like it should be darker calculating some dates so could be a chemical pregnancy. I’ve taken three tests in the past 6 days and (each two days apart) and they have got slightly darker each time but even this ones so light most people probably can’t see it 😂 but anyway, we’ll see what happens, I’m going to wait a week to test again

I should also add I’m still breastfeeding and haven’t even had a period yet hence not being certain on dates, “alone time” is few and far between these days so I know the exact day it happened but apparently sperm can live inside for up to 5 days so 🤷‍♀️

(I’d be between 3w3d - 4w1d or 10dpo - 15dpo)

Is it just me or are these progressing awfully slow?

I read something last night about the “hook effect” where there’s so much HCG it overwhelms the test and they only show faint positives or even negative tests after 8 or 9 weeks and while it could be possible that I’m around the 10 week mark now I highly doubt it since the tests are getting slightly darker each time 🤷‍♀️

I accidentally reversed into a trailer this morning after dropping Mia at preschool. Went and got one quote at a place Robert told me to... $550, then went to another place just down the road.... $50

Safe to say I went with the $50 place and you can’t even tell I’d had a prang

Update: I said to her “we were wondering when you were thinking you’d move out? We think it might be easier for all of us to find a new house if we do it separately” because her living with us was only supposed to be temporary (it’s been two+ years) and we’ve been looking for a new house for about 4 months now and keep getting knocked back on everything
