The song debuted at number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 2 on the chart. The song has also amassed more than 1.9 billion streams on Spotify, being one of the most streamed songs on the platform of all time. Dropping a song like Lucid Dreams gave the opportunity for other artists to have this space of vulnerability and listeners to tone into something other than what the norm for hip pop is. This type of music is to help people what they might be going through and struggling with and only lead to more artists like, The Kid Laroi and Post Malone, to drop songs that relate to the same type of feelings. All three of these artists have made song after song that have peaked the charts and get multiple plays on the radio for the public to hear.
