Not sure if she’s mood, but I’m giving Rio a large sheet pan full of brownies~
"Thank you.
The morbidly obese woman wasted little time in just... devouring them. Both hands at work, grabbing the thick hunks of brownie and munching them down. It was steady eating, not that of a beast but one who was enjoying the flavour and taste yet not slacking on the pace.
She was hungry. These days she was always hungry....

Te atmosphere and vibe matched that of a more rustic market than it did the buzz of the docks. The crowds and rush had been replaced with more openness with a calm and somewhat lazy feeling of tranquillity. There was still live here. It was not barren or forgotten, people were living, existing their daily lives here but the few numbers made the place feel more relaxed by far.
"Yeah, we can grab some noodles....."
She trailed off as her gaze swept along the open space, seeing the place in question. Despite her knowledge of where to go, she often forget the final detail. Not a problem for the laxing general, some might say.
"Ah! Over there!"
With that, she'd stride over to the large stall and seating area where an aged man was prepping his noodles calmly and quietly. He greeted them with a flicker of his eyes and a firm nod before he returned to the craft.
"Get settled and look over the menu. I'll order for us both." Feixiao said, taking the sheet that was the limited but robust menu and offering it out to the Au Ra.
"Whoa..." As much as the Au Ra basked in the crowd, this quieter, more traditional space...Her smile grew wider, almost serene as she closed her eyes and took in a deep breath as well.
"Huaaah...it's definitely calmer. Not in a bad way, just..." Icaria started, a little awkward with putting her thoughts into words. "The feeling of community...it's more close-knit in here..."
Tail wrapping around her slim waist, Icaria would move up next to Feixiao, curling into a small smirk. "Heh...Of course!" She'd refrain from lightly elbowing the Foxian...even if the thought came to her. That feeling of a kindred spirit was only getting stronger...
"So...Personally, I think noodles sound nice, but...what's your recommendation?"

"Verily, I shall provide answers to your questions."
Spreading her fan again, she'd strike triumphant pose, long mane fluttering for a moment, preparing herself for a speech.
"Hatsuharu group takes part in many activities across Japan. Our lineage dates back to the Meiji Restoration, when my grandfather started a trading company. Where most saw invaders from the Outside, he saw a business opportunity!"
Among the first to start trade with the Americans and other countries, quick to engage in such cultural exchange. Rather ironic, considering the traditional look she has-
"After the world war we went through a few changes in management and direction, and I became the leader for a few years. We went through a lot, nfufu."
Reminiscing about days long past, she looks at the sky, chuckling to herself-
"But that was a long time ago. I became a Shipgirl and gave up leadership of the clan, fought, then retired too.
As for what my intentions are. Isn't it lovely? To offer such these girls and opportunity to retire with all the comforts and services people of their track record the deserve? I want nothing but to aid You in such endeavors, however You might need~ Be it money or Manpower, services and such."
Akikawa had not expected a full on explanation but welcome it nonetheless. She greeted with wide eyes and calm skepticism that came from listening to a story told in such a fashion. She did not trust this woman yet, even if her opinion was positive so far. Trust is not so easily given and anyone offering something should be considered properly for there is always costs. Given this woman's family as a trader, Akikawa felt somewhat vindicated in her ability to resist the charms of such a sale's person.
The director herself was not her mother, the one who had really made a name for herself for the sake of the Uma. Not only that, Akikawa ran effectively on raw passion. Her family, noble in a way, had gained plenty of wealth and status and the academy itself was thriving well in all the important ways. There was, however, one truth. While training and races earned both prestige and funds, other support from grants or small investments here and there, alongside the whole 'idol' side of things which monetized the fans.... This retirement project lacked any profitable means. In fact, it was meant too lack that. Akikawa wanted it to be a reward for the girls who had achieved so much but, of course, were too old to run properly.
The funds were there but it was to be another cost to ledger which potentially had risks out outweighing it... Hence the same sample size!
Ah-- But as the other spoke, she did listen, all these thoughts rushing in her mind as she thought on the one main fact that if someone was truly a fan of the Uma and wished to help their retirement with the knowledge it likely wasn't going to bring any money back to them, then she should greet that openly.
"Ah-ha! I see, I see.....!"
The girl frowned in thought, focusing her thoughts here and there as she quickly weighed the information. Shipgirl? No clue what that was though maybe it explained how this woman looked so youthful despite her supposed age? She pointed her closed fan at the other.
"If you speak honestly and openly, I have no reason to doubt you. However, this retirement project is likely not to return any income to you. As someone with business interests, you must be aware such a venture will be more money sink than it would be a chance to profit? Soooo...."
Hands on moved to her hips as she she puffed out her chest (and belly), adopting a firm stance.
"What is it you are after exactly? For you support, I mean. Go ahead. Name your terms!"

"I am humbled by your kindness, Akikawa-dono. The name is Hatsuharu, here~"
Snapping her fan shut, she'd take a few step closer, standing just beside the petite director, a playful grin on her face-
"We are a business group." Not quite, but a close enough. They sure did lots of business, mostly of the legal sort.
Mostly.
"The Hatsuharu family owns several venues for different kinds of trade. From commerce, to factories, even horse racing and ."
...in other words. Yakuza. Though a particularly law-abiding group.
"I am human no longer, however my interest in the trade remains. How surprised, I was! To learn of such fascinating people, those under your care. I would love to watch over your project, Akikawa-dono~ And I shall offer any funds necessary~"
There was one thing that Akikawa had to be mindful of, given her love of the Uma and that was potential actors of bad faith. Primarily, this was those who sort to exploit the genuine and eager sprits of these majestic girls. The director had taken it upon herself to be a mindful guide of sorts and to ensure that these negative elements were properly controlled. Those who most sought to exploit the girls were, above all else, was criminals, the yakuza elements that sought to make money on them!
Well, money in a way that sought to put the whole events at risk. The director had to use all her powers to ensure she kept a good reputation for the sport and girls she loved.
A few neurons flickered in her brain as the other remarked herself as being in a 'business' group. Language often used by those of a criminal background. Enough to make her wary but she wasn't to deny or refuse without a genuine hearing out. Terminology does not condemn a person as much as their actions do and she had yet to see the actions of this stranger to paint her among the dishonest and crminal elements.
"Hmmmmmmm!"
She loudly hummed in performative thought.
"Serendipity! You happen to be interested in the Uma too? And my retirement project? How fortuitous! Ah! But I would be amiss not to ask more about your interest and what you wish to do before we even think about entering any partnership."
While Akikawa was open to the idea and often too headstrong for her own good, she was not an idiot who'd not try and change the colour of any red flags affecting her.
