I don't know how to explain what my family and I are going through.

Each day feels heavier than the one before.

We live in constant fear — not knowing when our turn will come, not knowing if we'll sleep tonight or vanish without warning.

My father is bedridden, with no access to medicine or care.

My mother is exhausted, and I carry the weight of it all in silence.

We no longer dream — we just try to make it through the day.

Most days, we barely manage a half-meal.

The help we get is small, but it’s what keeps us going.

Even the smallest donation has meant food, or a moment of relief, or a reason to keep going.

I never wanted to write something like this.

But I’ve reached a point where there’s simply nowhere else to turn.

I’m asking for your help because survival is now a daily battle.

where do TV shows get this idea that high school is constant drama, nothing even fucking happened to me in high school

There's a book that we had in our house growing up that I was obsessed with as a kid. It was just called "PAKISTAN: PAINTINGS BY LIN YONG AND SU HUA" and it was an art book of 100+ paintings/sketches by two Chinese artists who travelled thru Pakistan in 1978 and 1981, a sort of travelogue of their trip, and to little-kid me, it was some of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. I have no idea why we had that book, but I would stare at it for hours, and it made me wish I could draw/paint/do whatever it was that these artists had managed to do.

Anyway, we've moved house a bunch of times and I lost track of the book and haven't seen it for probably two decades now. But I think about it now and again, and had struggled to find it over the years, but I finally, finally got my hands on a copy of my own and i want to cry haha

I was afraid that maybe the art isn't as good as I remembered, being just a kid and all, but I cracked it open and nope, it hits me just the way it used to. Maybe even more now. It's so fucking pretty. Have some random pages:

Today is one of the hardest days we have been through in this damned war. My body has become weak. I cannot stand. There is no flour, no sugar, no food. All items are at exorbitant prices. My family and I cannot buy them. We listen every day and wait for news about an impending truce, but unfortunately there is an intensification of bombing, killing and destruction. We sleep and do not know if we will wake up or not. We wake up to the sound of strikes. All my friends and relatives were killed, some of them in their homes. We cannot get them out. Help me so that I can get out of this massacre and this ugly war. My brother is injured and cannot afford to buy medicine, and most of the time it is not available. Save us from this damned war.
