He nodded his head chuckling as he crossed his arms over his chest. Derek couldn’t even remember the last time he’d had an actual meal let alone planned on sitting down somewhere to eat, his life had been a non-stop roller coaster ride. “Beacon Hills has some pretty great burger joints and I might just know the perfect place.” He said with a smile “It’s actually not too far from here, I can drive us or we can walk if you want.”

AU: Derek didn’t do anything wrong, okay?! He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. And Chris Argent happened to be there too. Okay, so maybe Derek didn’t have a good excuse for this one but he’ll manage. Somehow. Unless, of course, Sheriff Stilinski figures out Derek is dating Stiles (who just had to come by the station right now). If this happens, spending day or two in jail might be the smallest punishment. Unlike, let’s say, being shot by the Sheriff. It’s all Stiles fault - Derek wanted to be introduced as his boyfriend months ago. Preferably during the dinner at the Stilinskis’ house. Not at the freaking police station when he’s handcuffed to a bench. For something he didn’t do. Derek hates his life.

Derek noticed the way she had wrapped her arms around herself and he knew that gesture all too well when it came to people standing outside in Beacon Hills. Quickly shrugging his jacket from his torso exposing his arms to the cold air he stepped forward before carefully swinging it over her shoulders and placing it on her thin frame. “Here, It can get a little cold here at night. What would you like to eat? You can pick whatever you want, it’s my treat.” He felt she needed a good welcome into town and being around her was an easy way to make sure she stayed safe.

The raven haired man shook her hand dropping his arm to his side after their release. He knew Ronnie wouldn’t of just wanted him to turn his back on every little thing that come into his life, even if that person had looked exactly like her and happened to be her sister. Derek would protect her sister and care for her just as he did with Ronnie before this whole mess had started.

“It’s nice to meet you Em.” He huffed out a laugh allowing himself to finally fully smile. Thing’s weren’t easy for him but then again things weren’t easy for anyone in Beacon Hills but he could tell it might be changing. The air nipped at his neck raising goosebumps and making his hair stand on end as he shifted his weight between his legs. It was getting colder by the minute but he didn’t want to end seeing Em just yet. Letting his teeth tug on his bottom lip he shoved his hands in his pockets before speaking up, “Are you hungry at all? I know we barely know each other but possibly up for changing that?”
