Rai’s shoulders sank and her face scrunched into a perturbed frown. Closing her eyes, she pinched the bridge of her nose, letting out an aggravated sigh. Not towards Morven, but directed at the cavalcade of thoughts whizzing across her mind.

“…Ah just. Ah’m just frustrated. Why ah’m ah supposed t’a celebrate mah grandmother’s birthday… when she’s been nuthin’ but bitter, cold, and dismissive of me. Just once, just once, Ah’d like some recognition for my efforts. I’m doin’ mah best and it’s NEVAH enough…”

"It does sound like your grandmother has some... honestly lofty standards she expects of you. I'm sure she's trying to prepare you for the future. But if my papa's relationship with his grandfather taught me anything, it's that focusing on a future that is not purely your own causes more damage than it helps. By trying to avoid an undesirable future, in great-grandfather's case it was Ragnarok and with your grandmother it is making sure you aren't unprepared for when you succeed her as the family head, one tends to only ensure that very future comes to pass. "If you want... maybe papa could go talk to her. He is familiar with the kind of situation you're in, so maybe he'll be able to give your grandmother another perspective on this?" Morven's face started to become flush, as her mind was starting to urge her to speak her whole mind.

"You're someone... very very special to me, lass. I want to help you in any way I can." That was the closest she'd go to fully confessing, her nerves were starting to get the better of her.

"Rai? You want to tell me what's on your mind, lass?" If there was one thing Morven knew well about herself, it's that she's a pretty good listener. If something was bothering Rai, Morven would be there to listen to her problems.

"Made of a bunch of body parts. Sounds like what my aunt would call a homunculus. Just one of like a dozen terms used for what you are I guess, same with the ones you said." Gou was pretty knowledgeable on the different kinds of undead, but Frankie's kind was a mixed bag on what to expect. Some were sapient, some were only as sentient as golems, some could have the intellect of a toddler, and some could be as smart or smarter than their creator. It really just depended on what parts were used. And in Gou's opinion... Frankie at least had some attractive parts.

"Name's Gou. If you don't have anything else going on, want to come to my place? It's my dad's turn to cook tonight and he's doing some of his personal recipes. Pretty sure you won't have tasted anything like what he can make."

Torako is still unable to get the image of Hojiko's belly out of her brain. Or getting the memory of getting eaten by him or of her head either. And that's not even touching on the fact she'd been getting teasing texts from a certain cyber girl. She swears she's going to kill Gou for all this flustering he's obviously responsible for!
