Lecrae Sues Katy Perry for Song Rip-Off
Grammy-winning Christian rapper Lecrae alongside several others are suing pop singer Katy Perry and Capitol Records for a strikingly similar tinny beat used in her ever-popular, Juicy J-assisted 2013 single "Dark Horse." They claim she not only stole their song, but also tarnished it because of the song and accompanying video’s association with "black magic."

Just Thinking: The Angel of Light
Consider from how high one can fall. The Fall of the reality TV star: On July 8, Apollo Nida, 35, the husband of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks faced sentencing in a Georgia court for charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire transfer. He was sentenced to eight years in prison with voluntary surrender at a later date. His wife was not present for sentencing. He plead guilty to the charges in May, admitting the pressures of keeping up an extravagant lifestyle to portray on "RHOA” led to him committing fraud.

Natural Hairnamix: 3 Hair Lessons I Learned the Hard Way
Everything in life carries its lessons, in fact life itself often has a very steep learning curve. The challenges faced can be tough, but usually with experience and attention to detail, they can be overcome. Then, they become the springboard for propelling you to the highest level. Natural hair is no different. Most naturals, on the onset of their journey, become confused and frustrated because they have little or no knowledge of how to maintain hair in its natural state.

There are The Temptations. The Foundations. The Four Seasons. The Emotions. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. And, then there are The Infatuations. Their first full-length album, Detroit Block Party, begins with...well...just picture yourself strolling through Downtown [City of your choice here] and you pass by this lounge/club where there's this band exciting the crowd with their nostalgic tunes. That’s the feeling I get from The Infatuations when listening to the first track, "Tonight we celebrate.”

Theatre Review: Tupac Play Pleasant Broadway Surprise
The lines between art (in its various forms) and life are often blurred, causing one to wonder if both represent reality. Hip hop music is regarded as an expression of America’s urban youth and their outlook on the world. Tupac Amaru Shakur was a prolific lyricist, poet, and an acclaimed actor. The mid-nineties saw the rise of Tupac’s stardom in the hip hop world; his music was declarative of his internal and external struggles. The world got a clear view of Tupac’s past and present through his music. And even 18 years after his death, many of the messages are still relevant today.
The Broadway musical Holler If Ya Hear Me inspired by the music of Tupac Shakur breathes new life into the late rapper’s work and legacy. The play is an adaptation of the book by Todd Kriedler and is directed by Kenny Leon. Holler If Ya Hear Me premiered on June 19th at New York’s Palace Theatre, in the heart of Broadways Theatre district. The musical's premise chronicles John, an ex-convict returning home after serving a six year prison sentence. The character of John is played by Saul Williams, an accomplished poet, lecturer, and actor who holds a MFA from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Triple Faith House of Worship being Built in Germany
The big three Abrahamic faiths will soon worship under one roof in a new German architectural project called The House of One.

A group of Christians, Muslims and Jews is trying to crowdsource funds to build a place where they can all worship, claiming to become the world's first building to combine a church, a synagogue and a mosque under one roof.
The competition to design such a project was won by the local firm Kuehn Malvezzi in 2012. Their proposal was for a modernist structure in which the three religions could pray in three separate rooms. An additional room with a 32m-high domed roof will host regular discussions and meetings between the three communities.

Learn How to Reject. It Protects You & the Opposite Sex
"If you are a lady, think about the last 10 guys that showed an interest in you, but you were not interested in. Did they walk away from that situation with their dignity intact? Or did you make the situation awkward for them? Did you use them to pump yourself up with your girlfriend as you flashed her the "please save me from Godzilla” look? Did they walk away kind of embarrassed? Did they walk away saying wow "I’ll never do that again” Or did they walk away feeling like "wow the world is full of great…classy women?
If you are a guy, think about the last 5 ladies that you have shown interest in (but didn’t have an interest in you) or who have shown interest in you (but you had no interest in) and ask yourself those same questions…
You may not have realized it until now but you may be "that girl” or "that guy” that tears down people because you think they are a bother to your "royal eminence” simply because they were not your type or they didn’t "meet your standards.”

Just Thinking: The Spirit of Man
A host on a Christian radio station in Michigan, John Balyo, was arrested on first-degree criminal sex charges involving children this week. In fact, he admitted to raping a 12-year-old boy, the Calhoun County, Mich., prosecutor said Monday.
Today, the people of western Michigan are stunned. Until his arrest on Friday, this gentleman hosted the number one Christian radio program on WCSG-FM in that area for 10 years. He was regarded as a boy scout, squeaky clean and thoroughly ethical. He was a volunteer member of the Sheriff’s dept. He had been married only seven weeks to a widow – a mother of a young son - whose first husband died of cancer a mere two years ago.

Just Thinking: The Way of Man
Have you ever noticed that everyone is an expert on what is wrong with the world and he or she or his or her "in crowd” have all the right answers? They are ever ready to point out and highlight something in the other guys that they are unable to produce or manifest in their own lives.
From the beginning of time until the present day men have insisted on going their own way and doing their own thing despite the Biblical warning ,”There is a way that seems right unto man but the end thereof are the ways of death.” The way of man is not in him. It is not in man to direct his own steps.

Natural Hairnamix: Has Hair Typing Skewed our View of Beauty?
According to the Oxford Dictionary, beauty is a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. This definition indicates that there is no set or prescribed formula for determining what is considered beautiful.
Beauty is relative and is determined in the mind of the one making the observation. What is beautiful for one person may be unpleasing to the eyes of another.

How to Reject a Guy Without Crushing His Ego
If you have ever worked in sales for more than a month and received training, you have probably heard this before. Don’t pre-qualify your lead.
What exactly is a lead? What does it mean to pre-qualify a lead? And what the heck does that have to do with relationships? Well, a lead is simply a contact that may…or may not become a customer. It is at best a prospect. Just an opportunity that may or may not result in a commitment.

Just Thinking: Nisi Dominus Frustra
"What shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole word and lose his own soul.” Matt 16:26
The above was my high school motto in the Bahamas. Is it not strange how a few words can be so meaningless until the vicissitudes of life bring them into sharp focus and then you fully appreciate what the teachers were trying to instill in you so long ago?
The above was a constant reminder to all the students at the school about the sacred connection between our efforts and desires and the overriding purpose of God. With our eyes on the prize of a high school diploma we were never to lose sight of what is truly important and worthwhile in this world.
