I destroyed my Linux installation a few hours ago, and I decided to reinstall it with KDE Plasma. I just couldn't wait, haha.

Damn, they got really good. It feels so clean and nice. Feels way more "desktop-y" than whatever the hell Windows 11 is doing.

It just works. I was dumb.

I wanted to see how much things improved since Steam Deck released. SteamOS uses KDE Plasma so, I was thinking that Valve employees and their contractors might have helped to improves it more.

It's really impressive how much Valve helped to Linux desktop community. Hiring those people working on compatibility tools and pushing the progress forward was a great move.

I'm currently waiting for Valve to official release Steam OS. I have been using Linux as my main OS for 3 years, but I couldn't really set things up properly every single time I install it. (I'm dumb haha)

I though about using Holo OS as alternative, but I want the official one...

I read every inch of Arch Wiki, download packages that I need, write configuration files, setup services... It works, it runs OK. I can code, I can browse web, I can play games.

But it takes so much time and I mess something up to beyond repairable EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I think, blindly using Arch and not preparing dot files or package list or just a custom installation manual every time is my fault here. I need out-of-box experience for me.

I would also love to go back to KDE Plasma. I have been using SwayWM for more than 1 year. It's great, but I want full desktop experience.

IME rant

Something that I want in Linux desktop environment is a working input method editor(IME). I need to write Korean, but I can't

I had tried ibus, fctix and I'm currently using an IME made for Korean, kime. All of them works. They are good.

The problem is that, on some applications, they do not work. For example, I can write Korean on VSCode, but I can't on any of Jetbrains IDE. None of games that I play receive Korean, so I can't talk... I can't change text on OBS. I have to write them on applications that works, copy them, then paste them to write.

It just... sucks. I want to solve this, but have no idea where to even start. WHY do they not work?
