A Taste of Greece is on now at @stregisdoha A Greek Food Festival featuring award winning chefs from the legendary luxury collection hotel, @hotelgrandebretagne in #Athens is on now at St Regis. There are popular Greek foods on offer. My favourites were the heart warming Moussaka, freshly fried battered fish and the light and delicate Orzo with seafood that was a one of the tastiest things I have eaten in a long time. To end off one can indulge in freshly fried Loukoumades drenched in honey, nuts and a dash of cinnamon. There is also a wide variety of international dishes such as sushi, Yorkshire puddings (WOW), a traditional carvery and lots more. Kids have not been forgotten and will love the freshly made burgers and pasta stations. The Greek food festival is on till Friday February 9th from 6pm to 11pm daily. Along with the lavish menus, Greek music will be played throughout the evenings. A special Greek seafood night will be hosted on Wednesday February 7th, 2018. The 35 000m2 building can accommodate 1,800 worshippers indoors and 500 in the courtyards. Two minarets which stretch up to 90 metres into the sky and point straight towards Makkah, Saudi Arabia. 2 000 tons of steel were used for the two large minarets. Islamic calligraphy has been inscribed on almost all aspects of the building's surface. The exterior of the mosque is covered with embossed verses from the Qur’an. Representing the five pillars of Islam, the mosque rests on five main structural columns. Four streams of water flow from the surrounding gardens into the building, each representing wine, milk, honey and water It was designed by Mangera Yvars Architects (from London and Barcelona) who was inspired by the relationship of "Knowledge and light". The Quraan places great emphasis on the importance of knowledge in order to reach enlightenment. Presently parking is available in the land next to the mosque. All five prayers are performed at the mosque and the public is welcome to come in and tour the mosque. @animagallery & @animaloungedoha There are a few things that I go crazy for. Art that inspires me, Eclectic art pieces, contemporary modern decor and yummy cake. Anima gallery and the lounge has been on my list of places to visit for sometime now and they certainly lived up to all my expectations. Anima lounge serves light food and is a trendy place where people can relax, admire art or read art magazines and books. There are also a huge range of healthy options such as a Power breakfast made with buckwheat, chia seeds, turmeric and other yummy fruits and nuts. Gluten free pancakes, kale salads or zucchini Bolognese vegighetti are available with a vast range of healthy and not-so-healthy options. Main meals range from burgers to pastas. There is even a kids menu available. I haven't tried the main meals yet but will be going back soon to test them out. The @entertainergcc has a "buy 1 main meal and get 1 main meal FREE" special running. I tasted the scrumptious carrot cake and the "light" cheesecake. The carrot cake won hands down as I think it wasn't as "healthy" as the cheesecake 😉. @UrbanPointdoha (download your first month for FREE) has a Buy 1 drink get 1 drink FREE and a buy 1 Dessert and get 1 Dessert for FREE which we used. I tried the "Just Beet it" (Qar35) and my friend had the "Anti Wrinkle" (Qar35). At Qar17.50 a drink each if you use Urban Point it's totaly worth it! There is also a contemporary art gallery which is attached to the lounge and showcases pieces in the gallery, in the lounge and on the boardwalk If you don't want to eat, be sure to go pass by to enjoy the striking art pieces outside the gallery on the Porto Arabia broadwalk or in the @animagallery. The gallery hosts new artists and exhibitions every 3months or so. Flip a Coin by @AhmedAlbahrani is currently running from the 15th January to the 31st March 2018. My favourite sculpture piece was from the talented Beijing artist @ZhengLu. He transforms Arabic calligraphy into graceful stainless steel sculptures. If you are in Porto Arabiya, Anima Gallery is definitely worth a visit! . . . *Continued in the comments. #ArtInDoha #pearldoha #anima #animagallery #animalounge (at Anima Lounge)
