Bixby lives inside your Camera, Gallery and Internet to give you a deeper understanding of what you’re looking at. Just tap the Vision icon in your viewfinder and Bixby will serve up contextual icons: translation, QR code detection, landmark recognition or shopping. Quickly access your favorite apps and content in a tap or swipe. Bixby learns your routine, so you’ll always have the right content ready when you need it. From your recent messages and upcoming events, to your next Uber ride and daily news—Bixby pulls the most important information from different apps, so you can accomplish more from a single screen. Bixby is a digital personal assistant on your Galaxy phone that automatically adjusts to your lifestyle and needs. Over time, Bixby will learn your habits and interests so it can better assist you. But first, you’ll need to set up Bixby.
Note: Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.
Set up Bixby Voice
Bixby Voice lets you have conversations with Bixby! You can ask Bixby to create a reminder, search for something online, and tons of other cool stuff.
Set up Bixby Voice with a Bixby key
To set up Bixby Voice, press the Bixby key, and then tap the Next arrow. If needed, sign into your Samsung Account, and then tap Next again. Review the terms, tap I have read and agree to all of the above, and then tap Next. Follow the instructions to set up Voice wake-up. When you’re finished, tap the checkmark.
Now Bixby will listen to your commands whenever you press and hold the Bixby key. If you’d like to use the Bixby key to open an app or run a command, you can do that too.

Set up Bixby Voice with a Side key
First, press and hold the Side key to open Bixby. Read the information about the Side key, and then tap the Next arrow. If needed, sign into your Samsung Account, and then tap Next again. Review the information, tap I have read and agree to all of the above, and then tap Next. Follow the instructions to set up Voice wake-up. If you want, select the option to open Bixby Assistant Home by double pressing the Side key. When you’re finished, tap the checkmark.
Press and hold the Side key whenever you want to talk to Bixby.
Bixby is integrated into your phone and provides you with the best AI assistant. If you choose to change your default AI assistant, other options are available.

Do you wish you could learn about something just by looking at it? Bixby Vision can help you do just that.
Open the Camera app, and then tap MORE. Tap BIXBY VISION at the top of the screen, and then review the information. Tap I agree to all of the above, and then tap Continue. Read the information on the next page, and then swipe to and tap I agree to all of the above. If desired, select the option to add a shortcut for Bixby Vision. Tap Next, and allow the various permissions. Now you’ll be able to use Bixby Vision in different apps.

Set up Bixby Reminder
Never miss another important event. Whether it’s a to-do list or a specific reminder, Bixby Reminder can handle it.
The app icon for Bixby Reminder doesn’t appear by default; there’s a trick to make it show up. Navigate to Settings, and then tap Apps. Find Reminder in the list of apps, and then tap the Settings icon next it. Tap the switch next to Add Reminder icon.
If you don’t want to add an icon, you can still use Reminder through Bixby Voice. For example, you can say “Bixby, create a reminder about the company dinner.”

Feel like you’re talking to a wall? If Bixby is not responding to your voice, here’s how to solve the problem and start communicating again.

Navigate to and open your phone’s Settings. Tap Apps, and then swipe to and tap Bixby Voice. Tap Storage, and tap Clear data. Then, tap OK to confirm. Next, tap Clear cache.

If you love online shopping on your phone, we have great news for you. Bixby knows all about Samsung Pay! In other words, you can use Bixby to make payments, add cards, and more with just the sound of your voice.
Set up a payment method through Bixby
Before Bixby can become your shopping buddy, you’ll need to add payment information to your Bixby profile.
Launch the Bixby assistant using either the Bixby or Side key, and then tap Menu. Tap the My Profile icon; it will display your Samsung account profile picture. Tap Payment methods, and then tap the + icon next to New credit card.
Enter your credit card information. If desired, select the option to add the card info to Samsung Pay. Next, agree to the Registration Terms, and then tap Register.

When you’re done, you’ll see your selected card under Payment methods on your Bixby profile page.
Note: You can only add a payment method to Bixby if your phone has a SIM card inserted.
Use other Samsung Pay voice commands
When you can’t find your wallet or your hands are full, Bixby can take care of whatever you need.
First, open Bixby Assistant Home using the Bixby or Side key. Tap the magnifying glass icon, and then search for and select Samsung Pay. You’ll see a list of different things Bixby can do in Samsung Pay. Tap View all to see a full list of commands. For example, Bixby can help you buy a gift card.
Tap one of the commands in the list to see what it does. Now you’ll know what to say in a pinch.

You can call Bixby for help anytime, anywhere. The default voice wake-up command for Bixby is “Hi, Bixby.” Just say this phrase, and then give your desired command. You can also double press the Power key to open Bixby.
Next, follow Bixby’s prompts to complete the command, if necessary. When you are giving commands for the first time, you will need to give Bixby permission, so it can do whatever is needed to complete the command.
