We don't have to lie and pretend the United States is bombing Iran because of trans people. I know you queer crackers are unable to imagine any world where your existence is not central but the reason the United States is bombing Iran is for securing its economic interests in the region. My friend @fadel-dani and his family haven't been able to eat bread for three days!!! The famine and war in Gaza have intensified, the bombing has increased, and the blockade has tightened, with food shortages increasing daily. The price of a 50kg bag of flour has reached 500 euros. This is unacceptable. Everything is getting more difficult, and the bombing doesn't stop. They need help!!!

Even worse, Fadel was injured when their home was bombed while they were inside. Fadel was left with shrapnel from the explosion and needs urgent surgery outside Gaza. He also suffers from thalassemia and needs a monthly treatment of 400 euros, which he can't afford now. He also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder because his previous campaign, which raised nearly 15,000 euros to enable him to undergo surgery, was deleted. Unfortunately, all donations were returned to their owners, and a new campaign was created, which collected only 11,559 euros. I hope you will help him and his family. Let us be one hand together and help Fadl undergo his surgery, buy his treatments, and provide food for him and his family. Do not ignore him, my friends, he is in dire need of us.

it's okay, ulysses ogre. you can back up and try dubliners, it's a short story collection with much more straightforward prose, you can dive deep on one piece at a time, and once you've toyed around with that then I'm sure you'll have an easier time with ulysses. besides, I had an irish lit professor who'd been studying finnegans wake for twenty years and she said she still didn't really know what was going on in it. ulysses ogre, what really matters is if you are enjoying your time with literature and feel like you are gaining something, not whether you reach the "correct" conclusions. there's no need to try and force yourself through something if you feel like you aren't on an even enough plane with the text to reap any of its rewards.

I keep seeing people equate "nonbinary" with "no desire to transition" lately, so like daily reminder that nonbinary people transition.

if there are fewer nonbinary people medically transitioning (which I don't even know is the case) I would sooner attribute that to the longstanding history of having to preform a specific kind of cis-palatable gender to access healthcare, leading to people who need said healthcare being more likely to identify as binary on forms that might be used to collect statistics. There are so many transfems out there who show up as trans women on forms who are nonbinary and out as such while in community with trusted people, for example.

I just find it extremely unlikely that given the resources to alter the body, a population of trans people would be inherently less likely to do so, especially when the only defining characteristic of that population is not experiencing their gendered position as substantively matching "man" or "woman."

the idea that "nonbinary" means "not needing transition" feels like part of the larger cultural push to lock trans people (all of us) out of accessing care.
