Dilatational Studies

I think that this example is successful due to the simplicity of it.  It organizes and displays the information with a clean composition. The graphic elements of the black keys almost act as if they are used in a way to lead your eye to the center of the circle.

This example is a hybrid of dilatational, radial, and axial.  The dilatational/radial grid combined at the top creates a nice composition that moves the viewer throughout to the bottom of the page where there is additional information.  The contrast between the white and black text helps to create a hierarchy of what to read first.

This dilatational grid system has a good sense of typographic hierarchy helps the viewer to draw their eye into the larger text and work their way down.  I can see that the many different elements of text are all focused around a central point. The use of the graphic elements help to push this idea even further by creating dimension.

I found this example successful because of the use of typographic hierarchy.  Our eye is directed to the largest text right away.  I also enjoy the use of transparency which helps give depth and separates the foreground from the background.
