To know New York City like a local might still be the greatest badge of honor for travelers. But take a breath: you won’t be able to cover the countless museums, galleries, restaurants and watering holes in one visit, and that’s good news.

Art, like love, is a universal language. And there’s a poetic serendipity to finding love, while you are immersed in art. Bianca and Saima met at a spoken word performance and instantly felt a connection.

Bianca says, “We’ve had many challenges before. But since we’ve been together those challenges have seemed less daunting when faced together. It truly feels like a blessing that we were able to find one another.”
Bianca tells us their story and shares highlights from their big day.
“When we met, neither of us was looking for a serious relationship but we did like being with each other. We did date but it took us an entire year before we could admit what we shared was indeed very special and that we wanted to be together.”
“I’m Colombian and Indian and come from a Christian background. My wife is Pakistani from a Muslim background. We were keen on incorporating facets of both cultures in a way that was respectful and personalized at the same time. We had four events, each with its own color scheme and everything was mostly DIY.
The celebrations began with the dhoki which was dominated by blue. The mayoun, which is essentially the haldi ceremony, of course, was all yellow. Our mehendi featured lots of pink. The wedding was dressed in white, gold, and lavender. Our engagement colors had been black and gold so we wanted to contrast that. We added the lavender because we got married in spring.
The wedding was held in my dad’s backyard with 200 guests in attendance. One of our best friends officiated the ceremony which we kept short so we could spend most of our wedding on the dance floor! Our friends and family really came together to help us bring to together our vision. We picked the flowers the day before from the flower district in Downtown Los Angeles and arranged them all on the day of the wedding. Every small detail was splendid and the amount of work everyone put in for our special day was truly heartwarming. It really did take a village and we couldn’t have done it without them!
We had matching outfits for each event which were all designed by Bilal Kazimov, a friend and an incredible designer. We are so happy with the way the clothes turned out and highly recommend him.”

Our initiative ‘
The two shared interests and ideals – travelling, trying new cuisines, anime movies… and the texts flew back and forth between the two until Saqib asked Amrozia out. A student struggling with her thesis then, Amrozia found her solace in spending time with Saqib, a professional banker, who would help her with research in whatever little way he could. One thing led to another, and before they knew it, the two were madly in love, Amrozia says, “Within a couple of months of meeting we were already very close. We never really understood the transition from being friends to lovers. We are so real and comfortable around each other. That’s the best and the most secure feeling.”
The couple has been inseparable since. From their first bike ride together, they’ve gone gallivanting and exploring all the way up to Ladakh. But a trip to Bali was what it took for them to eventually realise what was brewing. The couple could finally see the mind-blowing chemistry they shared and Saqib knew, most certainly, that he wanted to seal the deal for life.
The trip back home was a ride full of speculations. He knew he wanted a proposal that would last in their memories forever. He went back and forth over a million details but there was one thing he was sure about; he wanted to pop the question with a keepsake that would symbolise the purity and innocence of the relationship he shared with Amrozia. A Platinum Love Band was exactly what he needed.
And finally their Platinum Day of Love arrived…

With a lovestory like one that’s written in the books, Amrozia and Saqib were drawn to the neighborhood library for a romantic date.

Wings on her feet forever, Amrozia couldn’t resist the travel books.

While she was lost in the words, Saqib seemed lost in her beauty.

How in the world did we find each other? But now that we have, we can explore the globe.

Amrozia kept suggesting place after place, only to have Saqib put down every suggestion of hers.

Little did she know that Saqib was getting ready to start their most beautiful journey.

But he was taking his time and she had no idea why they couldn’t agree on a destination.

Dejected and stultified, Amrozia decided to call off the plan and head home, but…

Saqib: I want to climb mountains and swim oceans across the world, but only with you by my side. In this journey of life, Amrozia, will you be my partne

Saqib was swift enough to sweep her off her feet and slide a Platinum Love Band on her finger.

Down on one knee is the most important first step.

Every eternal romance deserves the perpetuity of Platinum.

They set their sights and sails to celebrate the journey of life with their Platinum Love Bands

Lauren and Bryanna’s same sex wedding sets new rules of love!
Standing by the corner of a house, laughing, crying, holding each other’s hands, all without seeing each other – these moments between Lauren and Bryanna just minutes before they walked down the aisle is one of the many poignant moments in their wedding film.
Their love seeps out through every frame of this beautiful trailer, from their first kiss, to the reading of their vows, and the exchange of the wedding rings. The beautiful mix of emotions reveals itself in layers as the camera captures Bryanna walking making her way to her bride Lauren, with her mother by her side, holding a her father’s hat who isn’t with them anymore. It’s another poignant moment when Lauren tells her she knows much she wishes he was there and plays a video with clips of Bryanna and her father at their reception. Priceless moments such as when friends and family give heartfelt speeches make for repeat viewing.
The visuals and music balance each other perfectly and soon after their wedding concludes, snippets from their fun reception showcase music, dancing and joyful moments. The exhilarating party eventually makes way for the end of the celebrations and as the newlyweds leave, their loved ones give them the prettiest see-off with sparklers.
While taking her vows, Lauren is captured saying, “Our love story is everything but traditional, but who sets rules for love?” This may be a story with two princesses, yet, it is every bit a fairy tale that is no less dreamy.

A divine Shiv-Parvati themed pre-wedding shoot from the ghats of the Ganges
‘Ardhanarishwara’ is a form of the Hindu deity Shiv which, through the portrayal of Goddess Parvati, boasts of the femininity existing within every man. Taking inspiration from this belief, WeddingSutra Favorite – Magic Motion Media came up with a unique concept for this pre-wedding film shot in Benaras.
The video begins with bride Aiswaria exploring the beautiful and mysterious locales of the city. The images showcase the quintessential essence of the holy city of Benares, from the calm Ganges river to the priests, cart stalls, winding lanes and yoga practitioners. It slowly shift focus to the groom Balkrishnan who, just like her, takes his time traversing the compelling spaces. While the two of them aren’t directly aware of each other, they are shown walking around the city in a dramatic way, aided by an unconventional soundtrack.
The video ends with a twist where Balkrishnan is shown suddenly waking up from a slumber in the train. And as soon as he alights from the train, the film shows Aiswaria travelling right behind him all along in the same train, giving us hints that all the previous images of them were a sort of a dream.
From the raw rustic costumes worn by the couple used to the enchanting elements of Benaras, the video is a subtle tribute to the divine concept of ‘Ardhanarishwara.’ From the spectacular view of the sun rising over the Ganges to the lit pyres on the river banks and the narrow streets, this compelling montage of action, mythology and authentic backdrops make Aiswaria and Balkrishnan’s pre-wedding film a truly unique one.

Dedicated to women who are modern, fierce and sensual, The Little Black Bow’s pre-fall destination line titled ‘Mon Cheri’ reveals sleek silhouettes, fluid fabrics and ingenious designs. Inspired by the charismatic mood that the collection conveys, WeddingSutra Favorite – Shreya Sen Photography creates a visual story where the bride is symbolic as a heroine who is a force on her own.
Artistic backdrops with a Middle-Eastern vibe complementing the designs make this shoot unique. The bride walks through corridors lined with Moroccan rugs, sits in corners decorated with traditional lamps, and pours herself a cup of tea with compelling confidence. Sharing her inspiration behind the shoot, Shreya says, “We wanted to portray a rebellious woman, the kind who has broken rules, written stories like ‘Dreams of Trespass,’ and is undaunted by anything that crosses her path. The idea was to create a Morocco-inspired set and direct poses that were almost nonchalant, yet strong, feminine, and sexy.”
Elaborating further on the muse and her story, Shreya adds, “She is someone who walks through the streets of Morocco, filled with storytellers, snake charmers, carpet sellers, and frankincense merchants. She is a cultural confluence in herself, and she stands between the traditional and modern worlds. However, no single thing defines her. You see her free and tall.”
The Mon Cheri collection offers a mix of colors alongside bright, neutral and shimmering textures. Each piece makes a bold statement. “This is a collection designed for women who don’t plant roots or feet. They’re free-spirited, wilful, and carefree gypsies who don’t quite grasp the concept of settling, who have stepped way away from confined boxes, who don’t wear sexy but are innately so, and unapologetic about it,” says Khushboo of The Little Black Bow.
The shoot offers reflections of orientalist painters like Fabio Fabbi and Eugene Delacroix. Shreya concludes, “This wedding season we hope that this photo shoot, this line, and this woman resonates with brides and her bridesmaids as well as with every woman who wants to wear their spirit on their sleeves, while they purr Mon Cheri.”

While speaking about Gopika, Viraj quotes author F. Scott Fitzgerald, saying, “She’s the beginning of everything… she’s the big bang of my existence, quite overwhelming, indomitable, a touch scary at times, I’m incomplete without her.” Such is the romance of the couple who tied the knot recently in New Delhi. Marked by sophistication and style, here’s how Viraj and Gopika’s wedding was put together by the bride’s aunts.
Gopika’s navy blue sangeet outfit was inspired by Cinderella’s ball gown. The dreamy outfit was accentuated with a diamond neck piece, a glamorous hairstyle and sultry maroon lips. Viraj complemented her vibe with a matching quilted navy blue bandhgala ensemble.
The decor for the night was done up in luscious shades of maroon and red. Exotic flora like roses and lush greens alongside mirrors, drapes, and lamp posts contributed to the exquisite vibe of the sangeet soiree and made the entire venue look spectacular.

One would expect a fashion designer’s engagement to be high on aesthetics, and Canada-based fashion designer Mani Jassal knocked it out of the park with her impeccable planning. The beautiful setup looked stunning, and the 200 guests who followed the all-white dress code added that special vibe to the celebrations.

The bride tells us about everything that made this day special and her journey with her fiance Hark.
“Hark already had a barn on his property, and being the hands-on person that he is, he transformed it into the space that we had imagined and desired for our engagement. The theme of the event was inspired by Tulum, Mexico, where he had proposed to me. The location went very well with the boho/rustic theme we were going for, and for additional space we had a tent right beside the barn. An added advantage of hosting a wedding right at home was that we didn’t have to worry about dates!”

There were so many little details that we incorporated into the function. Hark made swings at the bar to mimic some of the bars and restaurants we visited in Tulum. We had a hammock and macramé swings at the entrance that we sourced in Cuba. We hung organza tassels on the trees. The walkway to the barn was lit with string lights and arrows pointing guests in the right direction. Inside, we also had a projector playing our engagement shoot video, and the dessert table was far from the ordinary – it was a Wake and Bake pop up!”

“I designed my look and wanted it to be very boho, but still be on-brand. The skirt was a combination of tulle with mirror work, and silk with badla work while the top was a bustier to which I added detachable puff sleeves. Even the dupatta that Hark’s parents gifted me was designed by me. It had the lyrics of ‘So into you’ written on the border along with ‘Hark and Mani’ and our proposal date. The dupatta was finished with a gota border that was a tribute to both our mothers’ wedding dupattas, giving it a touch of tradition.”
“The kurta Hark wore was one of the first menswear wedding pieces that I have designed. I wanted him to wear a Lucknowi ensemble, and I designed the sleeves with my signature hierarchy detailing. He wore this with a shawl draped like the traditional Punjabi khasi, which ended up completing the look nicely.”

“I entered the venue with my sister and cousins, which to me was the most memorable aspect of the evening. Typically the brothers walk the bride to the groom, but I didn’t grow up with brothers, it was just my sisters and me. I didn’t think I would cry, but the song playing at that moment, the realization that this was really happening, and seeing my parents crying hit me all at once and it got super emotional.”

“We had 200 guests attending the engagement, and all the ladies were asked to dress in white, while the men were requested to wear linens or florals. Every single person was in sync with the theme.”

The superstar island of the Indian Ocean is not short of luxury hotels where you can find sun, sea and sand, but of its five-star beach resorts, the Royal Palm Beachcomber and the One&Only Le Saint Géran have got to be the most prestigious addresses.
One is the original Grand Dame of Mauritius, built in 1975, and rebranded after a nine-month and multimillion-dollar transformation, courtesy of One&Only. The other is a thatched five star nicknamed the ‘Royal Calm’ for its setting on a palm-fringed ivory sand cove in the sheltered, sunny northwest corner of the island.

The question is: for the Mauritius-bound traveler, where do you check-in?
