Nico took the square or ambrosia from Will. He still felt slightly faint but he didn’t want to admit it so he just bit into the ambrosia instead. Though he found himself almost instinctively laying his head on Will’s shoulder afterwards.
Annabeth couldn’t the shake the feeling either, which had only started after she had observed Nico asleep. Something about him was either just familiar, or it almost reminded her of the lord of the Underworld, though almost a bit of both.
“I kinda want to say he looks he looks like Hades but I don’t, even then he still looks familiar, but I can’t place it.”

Percy turned aside, gesturing for Will to follow. He thought he saw something move, and glanced at Will. Will had his eyes riveted on something on the other side. They locked eyes. Will whispered one word;
"Run."
Percy took off. His sneakers weren't too loud, they were a nice brand that he'd nabbed from a shoe store after a lot of the chaos went down. But it wasn't completely silent.
Will prepares his bow, nocking an arrow. Of course, that can only do so much, but anything ranged is better than nothing.
About twelve of the Fallen emerge from an adjoining street. They had been too loud.
Percy draws his sword, turning a corner, into another alley. He can't lead them home.

Annabeth listened to what Percy was saying, as Nico, who up till Will had shown up hadn’t talked much at all seemed become like a different person from before, in that he actually seemed to light up slightly when he saw Will. And he replied almost immediately.
“No, sto bene. I promise I am fine.”
He replied first in Italian then in English. And he managed to half smile at the blonde boy. Meanwhile Annabeth was talking to Percy.
“He almost reminds a little of someone now that bring that up…… “
Annabeth replied to Percy though she wasn’t really sure what it meant if she was right about Nico.

"No bites."
Percy moved aside, to reveal the boy behind him.
"This is Will."
Will smiled, though he seemed distraught. "Where's Nico?"
"So that's his name."
Percy pointed to the room. Will practically scrambled over, almost tackling Nico in a hug. "You were gone! You were gone! I assumed the worst- Grazie al-"
Percy looks to Annabeth. "They're half-bloods."

When Percy came through the door Annabeth stood up from where she was sat watching Nico and made her way over to the hallway, looking back at the dark haired Italian boy for a moment.
“No bites?”
She asked automatically. She was mostly double checking more than anything. Though she felt like she ought to ack regardless.
“He won’t talk to me, he’s Bess silent since he woke up…”
She looked over at Nico as she said that. He was still sat on the floor like he had the entire time Percy had been out. Annabeth wasn’t exaggerating when she said Nico hadn’t spoken either he really had been sat the entire time in complete silence.
The dark haired boy didn’t seem to notice Percy has returned at all. Still focused on anything but the door through which Percy had left earlier when Nico has been mostly unconscious or at the very least when he’d been out of it.

Nico sat in silence the whole time as Annabeth’s watched him, neither of them making conversation with the other. Nico didn’t even look at the blonde girl again. Though Annabeth didn’t take her eyes off Nico for one second.
The raven haired boy continued to eat in silence, rather than making conversation with the girl. It wasn’t that he was ignoring her or couldn’t hear her though, with the hearing aids he would have been able to hear her has she spoken to him. Though Nick seemed more interested in the contents of the package than having a conversation with Annabeth.
Before he’d met Will he’d been alone. Before that he’d been with his older sister though she was gone now, and so since it had been just him for so long before he’d met Will he was used to silence, though he wasn’t a very talkative person regardless when it came to strangers.
Annabeth, who had promised Percy she’d keep an eye on the boy, didn’t want to push him. She’d tried to have a conversation shortly after he’d woken up though it hadn’t lasted very long and even though he wasn’t talking to her he didn’t seem like he was desperate to leave either which she hoped was a good thing.

Nico tipped the contents of the packet into his hand, as he sat in the floor. He wasn’t really looking at Annabeth anymore, though he could tell the the older girl was still watching him.
Annabeth didn’t take her eyes of the Italian boy, she still intended to keep an eye him like she’d already told Percy she would, though she hadn’t managed to get much out of him in English, only enough to know that he knew English.
The raven haired boy didn’t look back at the blonde girl. He seemed too focused on the package now and he was totally silent, so quite that it wouldn’t have been hard to forget he was in the room if Annabeth hadn’t been watching him.
After a moment of watching him like that Annabeth’s stood up from where she was stood before coming back with a plate which she set in front of him. The kitchen of the house she and Percy had brought him was still stocked. It wasn’t much, mostly canned suff and it wasn’t a full meal though she figured the boy would need to eat something.
As she set the food in front of him Nico looked at her for moment. Then down at the plate she’d just put in front of him. For a moment he hesitated still not sure what to think of the blonde though he eventually grabbed hold of the plate and started to eat.

Annabeth looked at the Italian boy for a moment before she replied for a moment. Only speaking once she was sure that he had his hearing aid turned on. She spoke calmly trying to form her words as clearly as possible.
“Hey it’s alright…..”
The blonde girl looked at him a moment before introducing herself.
“I am Annabeth. We found you unconscious you were injured. We thought it was safer to move you it’s alright…”
Nico looked at her for a moment. As if he wasn’t sure whether he could trust her or not. He didn’t really like being around others, especially strangers since what had happened to his older sister however Annabeth didn’t seem like she was going to hurt him.
Nico didn’t say anything on reply to Annabeth, he didn’t speak much to others anyway, especially those he didn’t react know he just moved to get out of the bed and sat down on the floor grabbing the taped up package ripping into it which was pretty easy given it had already been opened once.
Percy stepped outside, and cast a glance both ways. No one. Thankfully. He was getting rather hungry. But now wasn't the time.
Maybe later, they would stop by a convenience store. The Fallen couldn't last too long. They were decomposing. The muscles wouldn't hold up for much longer.
That was a comforting, though unsettling thought.
He rolled his eyes at himself and pulled a pouch of m&m's out of his jacket pocket as he walked, tearing it open at the corner. Two yellow ones and a green one fell into his hand. He put them under his tongue to melt slowly, so the flavor would last.
He was a little tired of things being tense...
Two brown, three greens, a red, and a blue m&m later, he stood at the ruins of the burnt building again. If someone was there, they likely could have Fallen, or something. Had he checked for bite marks on the kid? Certainly not well enough. But he had to trust that Annabeth would know what to look out for.
It took too long of him standing there to notice the blonde-haired boy, stooped down near the spot where the first one was.
He stiffened, his hand going to his pocket, slowly approaching.
Not a Fallen.
He held out his hand.
"Want an m&m?"

Nico stirred, finally waking up. The first things noticed when he opened his eyes was that he was no longer in the burned down building. He looked around him, he was instead in a different building it was only then he noticed the note, the action figure and chip. He looked around him like he was still trying to get his bearings.
Annabeth looked over as Nico finally woke up. And it took her a moment before she realized the young boy was actually awake. She took his hearing aids our her pocket and handed them to him not saying anything and she waited for him to notice her. He wasn’t bitten she’d checked that while he’d been unconscious.
Nico hesitated a moment before he took his hearing aids from her. He was freaking out slightly though he managed to slip the hearing aids in without much trouble and turn them on, though when he spoke it wasn’t in English at first but Italian.
“Cosa vuoi da me… (What do you want from me…)”
I took Nico a moment before he remembered how to speak English, however when he spoke again, he said.
“I said what do you want from me?”
He had a thick Italian accent, he’d usually hide it with a New York accent but on this occasion it seems liked he’d forgotten to check his accent.
He followed her in, finding one of the bedrooms, and casting a glance around, before laying the boy down on the bed. He didn't really know what to do, he had a couple of squares of ambrosia left, but if this was a mortal, the consequences could be worse than his current condition. So he treated the burns, and then sat at a nearby desk chair, looking at the package.
It was simple, a little brown paper package. He tore it open carefully, letting the contents spill out onto the desk.
A note, an action figure, and a little chip of what looked like bone.
He hesitated, then opened the note.
Nico,
I'm out looking for supplies. Hope you feel better. I left everything on the counter, so don't forget to eat it.
Hope you like the presents, too.
XOXO
Will
He put it back in the package and taped it back together, then got up and found Annabeth in another room.
"Hey, there's someone else. I'm going back. It's getting dark..."

Annabeth nodded when Percy. Since they didn’t know whether the was a demigod or not, it was safer to treat the wounds the way a mortal would. She sat down by the boys bed.
He must have been waiting for them return for him……. You go I’ll keep an eye on the kid……”
The boy groaned as he was lay down on the bed but he didn’t wake up immediately. Upon closer the inspection the kid had long for a male hair, the shortest it probably came to just about long enough to tie back, though it seemed to be the intended, his nails were painted also and he looked like a younger version of Hades.
The Emo look was almost intimidating but suited the boy fine. He was wearing a back leather jacket, black ripped jeans, and black boots.

“I’ll do it…”
Annabeth drew her dagger, which was generally her weapon of choice, though it came with some drawbacks such as only being able to be used for close combat which came with its own risks but there was a reason she had been among the the lead strategists in her original group of survivors, before she’d met Percy.
“Oh and…. Percy….. found this on the floor outside the house where we found the boy, I don’t what’s in it though.”
She took the package out her pocket and showed him then pushed the door open of the house which Percy had selected.
Percy crossed to the sidewalk, peering at the houses; he had a checklist in his mind. It had to be one without broken windows, a way to securely close every entrance, and look completely uninhibited. He stopped at one with flowers spilling out of their bed into an overgrown lawn, the walls made of bricks, and a painted door.
"Do you want to go in first, and check for Fallen, or will I?"

Annabeth followed after him this time. “Yeah I’d rather to somewhere more sheltered. Less chance of something else happening.” She agreed with Percy. Before she spotted a package on the floor and picked it up before slipping it and the heating aids into her pocket and continuing after Percy.
The house was pretty badly damaged. The only reason the boy had to stay where he was in the first place was either waiting for someone else to return or I’d he’d been unaware of the fire. The boy clung to Percy in his unconscious state without really meaning to.
"Let's go then. I saw a spot, down by the road, surely one of the houses would work. And the pantry would have something in it." He laughed, though it was a little forced. "I miss Sonic. Man, I even miss MacDonald's. I'd be down for hash browns, solely because they wouldn't be preserved."
He walks around the place first, looking for any sign of another person, but there isn't much. Most of it is gone, burned by the fire. So he starts downhill, humming under his breath, down the unreasonably long driveway, and towards the street.

Annabeth shook her head. She hadn’t noticed if anyone else was around. In answer to Percy’s question she than do replied verbally.
“Yeah well just have to risk it. No he’s on his own.”
She didn’t know what else to say though she didn’t see anyone else around, though she had heard Nico say a name. She had also noticed the language he was muttering in his sleeps.
“He said something which sounded like a girls name earlier though. I thought I heard say Bianca…. But no I don’t see anyone. Though the rest of what he said afterwards was in Italian.”
The boy was unaware of anything going on around him. Even if he was wake up he wouldn’t have been able to hear what anyone was saying without the hearing aids.
"I think they are." He stood up straight, looking at the hearing aids in Annabeth's hand. "Which brings up another concern. If we move him, is he going to freak out the moment he wakes up, and we won't be able to communicate with him properly?"
Percy sighs slightly. "We might just have to risk that though. There's enough to worry about, when he could freak out either way," he murmurs, scanning the area. "Did you see any sign of someone else?"

Annabeth nodded and leant down to pick up the strange black sword “I this swords is his too . I have never seen anything like it….”
She then noticed the hearing aid drop to the floor as Percy went to pick then up, as She picked up the strange black blade carefully touching only the handle of the strange sword before slipping it into her belt along with her own dagger.
“Are those his?”
The boy was light to pick up, he didn’t seem to weigh all that much and he was pretty slim also, so he wouldn’t that difficult to carry the only difficulty in carrying him would come in picking up anything else while he was on someone’s arms.
Percy stooped down, and picked the boy up; an arm under his knees, and the other around the back of his shoulders. His head lay against the older boys' chest.
"Let's get him somewhere safe," he said. The place looked mighty quiet, but that sort of place was too open. And it was more than a little bit eerie.
It was then that he noticed the hearing aids, which had dropped to the ground from the boys' hand. Percy leaned to try to pick them up. But he had a bit of difficulty, with his arms occupied.

Annabeth nodded. “Maybe the place caught on fire a lightning strike or something…..” she replied. She knelt down next to the raven haired boy.
They look like burn marks and also there appear to be marks from as if he’d been struck by the lightning which may have hit the building also…. Even with the medical kit I think we may need to get him back to a medic.
The boy’s raven hair was longish. Shoulder length at the longest, and even at the shortest it would just about be able to tie back, his breathing was shallow but he was there. He was alive, which was unusual. He stirred slightly and mumbled somthing in Italian, which was hard to make out what he was actually saying though it sounded almost like.
“Bianca! Bianca! NO! Svegliati! (Bianca! Bianca! NO! Wake up!)”
Percy followed, not too far behind her. His shoulders sagged, his hand on the pen, thumb on the base of the cap. That was how his hand sat quite often, these days. At the ready. There were people to protect here. To anyone else, it just looked like he had his hands in his pockets.
"What's that? Did you find something useful?"
He stepped forward, peering at the child. He was surprised. Out in the open, and wounded? How could he be alive?
"Oh. Do you want me to get the aid kit out of your backpack?"

The building must have been struck by lightning at some point, and burned down that way, but there was no one else in sight, just the kid, who wouldn’t have less than 10, but wouldn’t have been older than 15. Certainly he was younger than the blonde girl who had walked into the ruins. He lay there curled up on the floor on a pile of blankets
The blonde pulled her backpack back into her shoulder, or has been slipping, she might still have been young though she was the current strategic leader of the survivors. She looked behind her, as if waiting for someone else to follow her into the ruins. She wasn’t stupid, she wouldn’t have walked into a place without checking area first.
The boy looked injured, perhaps in whatever circumstances had led to the place burning down in the first place. And he seemed to be asleep. Next to him at a black Falcata sword bound at the grip in a faded fabric blue and clutched in his hand we’re hearing aids, he must have taken them out before he’d fallen asleep in the place, even presumably before the place had been burned down.
He was alone as best as the girl could tell, at least from what she could tell no one else was around, maybe there had been but either way whoever had been with the boy was long gone, dead or turned I didn’t make much difference with what this world had become.
