Today, I was introduced to program called Adobe Fuse CC which is a program used for character design. I started off design my character pretty smoothly as this program’s interface appears to be very obvious. It helps you build character’s body in a matter of minutes. You’re given variety of options within this interface such as extending the body parts, resizing, changing the skin colour, colour in general, etc. I chose to design an alien solider who was born on a planet with the same base as Earth. As I was tasked to create someone who looks like the extended version of myself I picked him dreads and my body construction. In conclusion, the file is saved as OBJ file.

Evaluation
1. How did you feel about the menus and interface? Was this software more complicated than used in previous projects?
I would say that at first I did not feel very confident as I missed the first lesson, so I was slightly left off the introduction. The software is certainly a lot different from the previous flowlab.io that we used to make 2D games, but over time I got used to it.
2. What was it like making transition from 2d to 3D software?
It was a huge step; I’m not going to lie. 2D games are really old and basic compare to modern 3D games. This software opens up your creativity and allows you to design your deepest desires. How did you feel about navigating 3D space in software to design your gallery? It wasn’t easy at first as I mentioned earlier, but after a while I didn’t find it hard either. As this is being such a big interface I had to explore its options to start space navigating. Started off with the scale of its world then started adding basic objects, materials, etc.
When creating your landscape what were you confident with and what would you want to improve on?
As we were tasked to create an island with mountains where the gallery sits on the top of it, I found it slightly hard to shape the land around the gallery to make it look balanced. It was easy to crate the mountains and the gallery itself, but putting it together was a bit difficult or it just took a lot of time and patience. Make suggestions on how you could have strengthened your landscaping skills. My teacher advised me to use a smaller brush when making the landscape around my gallery as this huge brush was pretty inconvenient. Improvement would really just be the patience as I consider my landscaping skills pretty decent, but surely there are always points that could be developed.
3. How did you create your gallery?
I made my gallery by using the geometric shapes. I was mainly using cube as it’s the best shape for creating, Minecraft people know what I’m talking about. I’ve started off with the foundation of gallery then I created outdoor stairs. It was necessary to shape this building first and then start designing. I’ve added balcony, basement, chimney, outdoor pool, etc. All I did was based on cube shapes, it was resized, cut, painted, etc.
What objects did you use and how were your architectural skills?
I used the cube shape for most of the parts I made. I wanted to use stairs sometimes, but I decided that resided and duplicated cube will be more convenient. I wouldn’t consider myself to be a good architect, but I’m proud of what I’ve done. I met the requirements as it looks modern and apparently pretty outstanding.
How well did you use research to develop your gallery?
I’ve looked at plenty of modern galleries in order to gain some basic architectural skills to create my own gallery, so research played a big role in my case. What were you confident with and what would you do to improve your gallery I liked its design and combination of colours. I made it to look like a mansion instead of some boring old gallery. Also the placement and theme of my personal art inside of the gallery seemed to be harmonised with the gallery’s atmosphere. I guess I could’ve make more rooms inside of my gallery, but I did not make enough of my personal art, so wouldn’t have anything to fill it with. My gallery would also deserve a set of furniture or something which would make it more realistic.
4. What pieces of your own work did you display? I’ve displayed a few of my photographs from our photography class as that’s the only class where we really work with some sort of images. These were the images from my “Power of Photography” assessment, but I also added 2 extra images. One was my favorite artist and the other one was an inspiration from my pop art assessment.
Why did you choose these pieces to display?
I was proud of the photographs I’ve taken as this was my first relevant assessment and it had a deeper meaning to me, because it was related to mental illness.
Could you have made your gallery space even better? How would you do this? I’d extend the interior space, add more rooms, furniture, images, etc.
5. What extra features would you like to learn about in Unreal to make your gallery even better?
Probably learn how to include real game props. Be able to create working screens, all sort of technology to make it look more futuristic as I’ve seen in this short animation ‘Dave’. Features, such as visitors in my gallery perhaps, different sort of lights, perhaps make a better surroundings, etc. If it was about learning new features besides my gallery I would like to learn how to recreate my movie visions in Unreal Engine, because this software is way better than the story board website we use. This would give me endless possibilities and I would roughly be able to see what is my movie going to look like.

Today, I managed to upgrade my gallery a lot. I was introduced to the weather change, including the speed of the weather as well. I’ve created the basement with space floor and the ceiling as well. The wall will soon be cover by my arts. I n the back you can see there’s a glass balcony which leads to the basement. So far I started filling up the walls in the gallery with the art I have done in my other lessons.

What did you do this week? I’ve been given a new assessment task to do related Unreal Engine. Today was more of a research day, looking at different options within the unreal engine such as animations, movie making and VR.  What did you learn? I have learned how to resize the geometry objects in the Unreal Engine using the details panel. It is amazing how many options this program has and that it only doesn’t have to be used for game making.
How do you feel about the work you have produced? I was trying to focus on my research, so I did not end up experimenting like we were tasked to do if possible. I will start off with this the next week as my research will help me to increase my knowledge in Epic Game Launcher.   What is left do?  I suppose to watch gallery architecture to get an idea of what kind of gallery I am going to create in my game world.
How could you add to this /what extra work or research could you do?Research is the key! as long as I am doing research I am improving my knowledge about this specific topic which is all that matters.

What did you do this week? Today, I was introduced to software called Epic Game Launcher which is a program used to create games. It happened to be very impressive and I enjoyed working in it. At first, it was hard to open the actual launcher, but eventually we made it working. We were able to play around and discover some possibilities within this game. What did you learn? I've learned a new way to create games using better routing and graphics. We started the basics of moving objects, changing land, adding water, etc. I also learned how to run this program in case it wouldn’t work as we had face this difficulty. How do you feel about the work you have produced? It was my first day of using this program, so I wouldn’t call myself a master, but I think I have done well with the important basics. Basics, such as how to add objects, how to add an area around the circle in which you start, etc. What is left do? As it was the first day doing it, there’s much more to explore and we’re definitely looking forward to start a first project in this program. How could you add to this /what extra work or research could you do? Research is the key! as long as I am doing research I am improving my knowledge about this specific topic which is all that matters.

What did you do this week? Today, we’ve looked up to program called Adobe Illustrator, which is a program similar to Photoshop, but offers you different options much more interface in my opinion. We were task to experiment and create random shapes using “Op Art” techniques.
What did you learn? I have learned interesting facts about “Op art” and how it’s used to create an optical illusion.
How do you feel about the work you have produced? In fact, this was my first experience using this program, so I do not feel as confident as if I was familiar with it, It was just the first lesson though, I will get better next time. the more time I spend using it the better I get.
What is left do? As it was just disposable task, I am not sure what is there left to do.
How could you add to this /what extra work or research could you do?
My favourite YouTube tutorials are always pretty helpful and educative in terms of this section.

Platform game. Evaluation. 500 words.
A. Making the artwork, making the game.
1.What pieces of software did you use to create artwork during the project I have been using Adobe Photoshop to create any artwork during the project such as my character, background, etc. to create the actual game I used  website flowlab.io which allowed me to create my own 2D game.
2. What tools and techniques did you use to create your artwork?
I have used plenty of tools when creating this game, I needed to cooperate with Photoshop to create needed things for my game. Using pixels, I was able to draw pretty much anything I needed. Characters and objects in my game needed a lot of commands in terms of behaviors. The entire game was based on a background filled with block and traps.
3. What areas of designing and creating your artwork were you confident in? I was confident when creating  my character, background and adding the sound.
 4. What areas of designing your game and artwork could you improve on?
Even though I spent some time doing my background, I knew I could’ve done way better if I had enough time, I always get creative when making such a thing. I am not very experienced game developer, actually I am not at all, but I tried my best, and I am in belief that If I’d spend more time editing it I’d explore those options beyond.  I’d love to explore those hidden options within this game, but I’d have to upgrade to a premium account.
B. Creating a 2D game
1. How well did your games artwork fit with a simple 2D game, what was your art style how did it suit this style of game My game isn’t any complex, is more of a casual game, bringing back the retro style. I used robots as I was influenced by modern game called “Destiny” which is a game based of robot race.  I did not go any crazy when creating this game as I was trying to follow assessments’ requirements.   2. Did your initial preproduction research into existing games help you develop your graphics?
My researched helped me a lot, everything I researched then guided me till the end of my game, I got influenced by games I either saw or played. I guess, my game would’ve been different without doing this research. A decent 2d contains certain aspects that need to be required, otherwise nobody is going to play it!
 C.Your Game
1.What went well when creating your game, what areas of Flowlab were you confident with.
I was pretty proud of the background I made as it looked pretty realistic in terms of 2d game. I done take my time to produce well detailed character, I felt quite confident doing this as I am starting to be creative in Photoshop.  I was satisfied about the sound effects I used as I had them before anyone else even knew about them, I worked them out myself.
2.What was a challenge with flow lab, how could you improve your work with this program? Create certain commands was slightly challenging, at first making my character movable wasn’t as easy I thought it will be, but it became simple throughout the assessment. I struggled with planning this game as I did not know how to design my idea. For example, creating enemies dangerous through the behaviors and the make them bounce back from the block was kind of hard to make.
3.What additional feature and functions could your game have to make it even better?
It’d be good if I had an opportunity to use my own sound, but I could not as I have had premium membership. My game would definitely deserve more levels, however my time was limited, so I did not have enough time for next levels. I only managed to create 2 levels with the same background and I am sure that the players would appreciate new background for the second level.

This is my first creation in Adobe Illustrator, this technique is called “ Op Art “ as it meant to create an optical illusion. My design is pretty simple, I went for basics as I am not very familiar with this editor yet. There are 3 stars aligned asymmetrically, so it looks a bit mesmerizing. I used cold colours so it does not look any crazy. By pressing the “Add” key I was able to create this rotating effect.

Reflective Journal
What did you do this week? Today, I have added music to my game which plays throughout the entire game.  As I only used sound effect before, this added the atmosphere my game needed. I received constructive feedback from my class mates, which was very useful as I could make certain adjustments based on their opinions.
What did you learn? I learned how to add music to my game.
How do you feel about the work you have produced? I do feel pretty confident about my work (my game) as I tried slightly hard to make it look as good as possible. After receiving positive feedback from my class mates I can be proud of my work.
What is left do? I heard there is an evaluation left to do next week, besides that I am all up to date, perhaps a bit forward.
How could you add to this /what extra work or research could you do? I could look up how to add my own music to my game by using Dropbox, as there is not other way you could upload your music unless you pay for an advance license.

Adjustments
I made a few adjustments based on the feedback I have received from my class mates. I started off with adding an additional wall around the game world to prevent my character from falling off the edge. My second update were falling blades from the ceiling that had dangerous behavior so they’d kill you if they’d touch you. I also made them movable, so they can fall down, but only hurt my character. I used this “ sharping” sound effect which made it sound and look pretty authentic as well as effective. One of my enemies was missing out the sound effect which made them quite silent, so I decided to praise them with the sound effect and my feedback givers were satisfied.  In the end, I upgraded my question mark blocks, as they were not movable, I had to make them move around. From now on, as soon as you step on them it will automatically lead to a collision.

May I get feedback from you ?
https://flowlab.io/game/view/1030174
Ariel: His work is good because he shows like he is giving his heart to create this game and he try his best to achieve amazing game, it needs some professional making to be better but only few things in this game are bad. 1) The space ship should fly when we go in to it in the end of the game (fly to earth). 2) Sound when we collect objects is bad because it sounds like I’m not collecting the same item what I hear and see what I collect. 3) In this game is easy to cheat because on the start of this game I can’t see the wall and I can jump on the treasure without charming and losing the game. 4) This game is a bit to easy, monsters are not even dangerous enough (they can kill) but they are to slow to catch the character what I play with. 5) Too small map in the game to play on, 2 minutes to win this game, it should take longer (playing in this game). 6) In my opinion, this game is good because it is his first game and he is learning from his own mistakes. Keep on working hard like you always do.
Lewis: The depth to this game is really good and its obvious that a lot of work and heart has been put into it. The design of the colors and the background is really good and really well made and the sci-fi theme has been explored really well.
Leandro: When I first played the game I just wanted to play more because I was just blown away, it is fun to play and the gameplay is really nice and easy to learn. Hope he could do some more maps so I can enjoy more.
