2/9/2025 – A Diary of a Grieving American

This morning, I woke up, made my coffee, and tried to quiet my mind. I fought against the crushing panic that lingers in my body, but once again, the tears came.

America, what have we done?

The Bible speaks of the end of days, and I see it unfolding before my eyes. Across the world, nations are rising in protest as their democracies slip away. And here, in the land that once stood for freedom, we have allowed hate to thrive in the name of a loving God.

I feel shattered.

There are so many people I love—people whose skin holds more melanin than mine. I fear I will mourn them.

There are so many people I love—people who speak with accents that tell stories of resilience and hope. I fear I will mourn them.

What have we done?

God, save us.
