Will the advancement of Artificial Intelligence lead to Human Extinction?
by Kian Lord Arthur Romo
Through the years of researching and improvising the world of technology, I think it is pretty safe to say that Artificial Intelligence became a new trend that people rely on in terms of having a much easier and comfortable life. Famous engineers like Elon Musk strive to develop more AI prototypes and more AI Technology like how his Electric powered Tesla Vehicles work in self-driving mode. Which is pretty mind-blowing for most people. Moreover, he also expressed the people a sense of encouragement and confidence that the world is near to the Future.
Since Artificial Intelligence is just starting, does this mean that there's a start of something new? Well as humans we don't know what we can accurately expect but we are pretty sure about self-driving cars, AI-powered workers, or maybe even voice command kitchen utilities. But can we expect Artificial Intelligence Robots that would be the alternative to do human risky and hazardous jobs in the near future? or maybe override of malfunctioned AI Robots that would dominate the entire world that would lead to a huge disaster and human extinction. It like the same concept as the movie entitled "I, Robot" headed by Will Smith way back in 2004. The way how AI robots almost dominate the entire world killing millions of innocent citizens.
We can't assume about what will happen but CB Insights pointed out that "AI doesn't necessarily have to be malevolent to threaten humanity's future. ... “AI doesn't have to be evil to destroy humanity — if AI has a goal and humanity just happens in the way, it will destroy humanity as a matter of course without even thinking about it, no hard feelings.” Overall, we don't really know what lies ahead for the future of humanity. For centuries a changing plot twist has shaped and nurtured the history of humanity. World Wars, pandemics, natural disasters, and more factors that greatly affect the long run of our History. As we welcome a new decade with much better technology, we must also welcome our new sense of pride, passion, and courage. For we are not creators of History but we are History itself.

ANALYSIS
Freedom and Justice (Nelson Mandela)
Nelson Mandela was an honorable and great individual, he was awarded an honorary degree in Harvard University. While reading a manuscript, he gave an informative speech to the people about freedom and Justice. He talked and mentioned about how the Africa and United States will now be together and will support each other without hate and pride. He also added that it became a big deal to the African Citizens in pursuing the goal to stop unfairness and injustice to the country and people. A big applause to the Late Former President Nelson Mandela.
Gender Equality (Emma Watson)
Actress Emma Watson, gave a memorized informative and persuasive speech focusing about Gender Equality. The reason behind why I think It’s persuasive and informative is because she was actually informing the audience about “Feminist” and how it was misunderstood by most people. She wants to clarify about the problem that Feminist is about supporting female and women and not hating on men.
Outsmart, Outlast (Darren Tay Wen Jie)
Entertaining and persuasive speech was the speech that Darren Tay Wen Jie gave to the people as he was a bullied kid and he want to tell the people that they shouldn’t run away from their inner bullies but to acknowledge it instead.

Lester Holt, born on March 8, 1959, is an American journalist and news anchor for the weekday edition of NBC Nightly News and Dateline NBC. On June 18, 2015, Holt was made as the permanent anchor of NBC Nightly News following the demotion of Brian Williams, making him the first African-American to solo anchor a weekday network nightly newscast. Moreover, Holt is also known for his moderation of the first Presidential debate of 2016 and was praised for his role in fact-checking false statements. As for me and just based on his appearance we can recognize him as a great man with a great heart and not just that because he is also a man with passion, honesty, and honor.
We can catch sight of Holt every night live on NBC and experience his soft and crystal clear voice. Just like what my Mother said, he has an extremely presentable voice which resulted to uncomplicated understanding to the audiences. It will always be a pleasant thing to have great voices on great news especially with nightly news since there is a huge amount of chance for audiences to be drowsy in these hours. As what I have observed with his multiple reports, I can undeniably appreciate his personality which played a vital role in the flow of the report. Since his personality conveys a connection to the audience paired with his passion to report unbiased news around the nation. His passion to convey news at the age of sixty which is not an easy task for most people in their sixties. Lastly, is his honesty to never tolerate biased display of information on the media.

SYNOPSIS:
So the story started with Prince Albert, also known as “Bertie” of England who was the second son of King George V. As the Duke of York he was asked by his father to address his closing ceremony message to the people in the Wembley Stadium during the Empire Exhibition. As he stands in his place to now start his speech, we can obviously see the nervous in his veins to talk in front of a big crowd knowing that he himself had a speech disorder commonly known as stuttering or stammering. As he continued to deliver the speech, he was experiencing continuous stuttering that made the audience feel uncomfortable and also made him walk off the stage due to frustration of not being able to deliver the speech as clearly as it should be. On account of that happening, they establish to acquire a speech therapist however they observed that there were no improvements and changes to his speech. Prince Albert and his family keeps on worrying on how frustrated and stressed they are that made Prince Albert burst into tears and anger because of how things turned out. As he ascend to the throne as King George VI due to the passing of his late father King George V, he then have the fear that gave him the courage to change and improve with the help of their new Speech Therapist named Lionel Logue. Lionel Logue was an Australian actor and speech therapist that became the main reason to the success in solving King George’s speech tantrums. Lionel Logue used unconventional ways in solving the speech disorder and also the key to the King’s confidence. The story ended with the sucesss on King George’s last speech in the movie with the help of the speech therapist Lionel Logue until then they created an unbreakable bond with each other.
REACTION – ANALYSIS:
Just by knowing the title of the movie, I was then not interested because at first glance I thought the movie was just all about speech and people advocating. But then, at the moment I knew something was wrong with Prince Albert, I was curious and interested about what the movie was all about and how I can predict what’s about to come in the following sequences of the film. It was really a great movie especially how the protagonist handles each situation he was in and we can see how hopeful and strong he was to face that type of challenge. Like it was a whole nation he was controlling and having that speech disorder in the midst of war which is not an easy thing to face. Also, we can observe how communication works in between King George VI and his speech therapist Lionel Logue. There we can see their bonds and how they communicated so well with all of the speech practices they went through. We also can see a lot of miscommunication on the film, one example is when they got a misunderstanding to each other then they argued with loud voices. Overall, it was really a great film with great storyline and message that encourage the viewers to always have faith and hope in everything that you want to be better at like sports or personal improvements. Also I can sense that the film also encourages us all to seek advice especially to elders and for me it was an impactful film to unleash the beast that we are really hiding in ourselves due to lack of confidence or afraid to be judge. Watching the story of King George VI, also did inspires me to be myself and that I don’t need to overthink in every situation so in that way I am thinking straight to what I do and don’t expect for what’s about to come for it is my own responsibility to create an outcome.

So within this topic I have learned that there can be a lot of different conic sections available in our surroundings and I never ever realize that before studying Conic Sections. We can really learn more from life if we examine each detail of each object that will give us a new perspective in seeing different things in life. Just like what the wisest man in the history of Athens stated that:
" The unexamined life is not worth living. "

After watching the video about how Jimmy Nelson portrayed his personal experiences about the art of communication, I can say that it’s all about the small things in life, no matter how small it is as long as in the long run it did gave a huge impact to the lives of other people and with that, it would make me happy and grateful. So honestly for me, his speech was really emotional and heartfelt, just based on how he talked and how we did witness his passion about being a photojournalist. Going back with our main focus, I have learned a lot from his speech and with his experiences we can easily imagine and understand what or how beautiful the art of communication is.
Just based on his discussion, I can personally visualized how beautiful the art of communication for the reason that he did used hand gestures and emotions in his speech which makes it more understandable despite how fast he showered his words. So, the art of communication Jimmy Nelson was talking about was on how they did communicate even in non-verbal forms like on how they use hand language to understand each other knowing that they don’t have the same native language. One example of this is, when he was centered by a flock of reindeer’s pushing him and licking him from head to toe and then he started using hand gestures and facial emotions to the man that keep on laughing to him as he calls for help. Second thing I noticed is how they used emotions to easily understand each other during non-verbal communications.
Overall I think that the art of communication is how effective communication can be even in the most simple way and how that simple act of communication can bring impact and understanding to a certain person. Aside from that, I also think that the art of communication is the art in understanding words that isn’t said by other people like on how you understand body language through their movements or how you understand what someone is really feeling through their eyes which makes communication a thing of a beauty.
To end I just wanna say that Jimmy Nelson really dedicated himself to photojournalism and it’s a good thing. Having the dedication and determination to what you are really passionate about because in life it’s all about finding your purpose, and after you find your purpose, you fight for it.

So I’ve come up with my final model of communication which is this one. The TFSRA sequence of Romo’s model represents the five stages of how communication processes in this model and it’s not that short and long model which make it look more convincing to explore. To explain further, me personally come up with this model because since the first day of the discussion about communication and the different types of model. I started thinking and creating my own understanding of how communication works.
It starts with the sender thinking for a certain topic or idea to start a conversation with the receiver then it slides down to finalizing the certain topic or idea prepared by the sender for the receiver. Next, the sender now transmits the message to the receiver in order for the receiver to analyze the topic or idea given by the sender. Moreover, in the analyzing stage, the receiver will start to also think and finalize his/her ideas or opinion of the said topic given by the sender and after that the receiver will now become the sender again. It’s just like vice versa, in which the sender also becomes the receiver and the receiver also becomes the sender. And that is how the Romo’s Model of Communication works.

For the last couple of months the world has been completely controlled by this so called Corona Virus or COVID-19 and honestly it made a huge difference around the globe. It made people changed on how to look at life and on how to live life in the new normal. It made a huge impact on how people communicate to their loved ones and friends in which it made us become curious to explore and find new ways to communicate in the best way possible. With that it resulted to new limitations we never knew existed but despite those limitations, there are still new possibilities. No matter the limitations and possibilities it made us experienced new and different things.
