Externally, she appeared indifferent. Internally, she felt lucky to have an official landing in her lap so easily. Her praying from the previous week must be paying off. “So you came all the way from the Ministry for a cup of coffee? There are better places in London than here.”
He smirked from above his cup, “But they don’t have Italian heiresses frequenting them, do they?”

“Sheer will and determination, my friend!” he said grandly as he plopped the colourful box on the table. “No room for the weak in radio! Speaking of which, this is from our listeners.” He tried to slide the box closer to the man but it barely budged a millimetre. ‘Man, it must be amazing to be this popular,’ Tilden thought while looking between Mr. Parkinson and the giant box.
He moved back against his seat in order to make space between himself and the box. Nic glanced around its size, wondering what could possibly be inside of it. “I commend you on your strength. Have you looked at the contents? This isn’t some convoluted plot to take out the Head of the Auror office is it?”

“No, it’s just a simple smoke break.”
“Take whatever you need, Ms. Vanity. I don’t blame you.”

Her eyebrows rose up as the Ministry employee sat across from her. Serena eyed him suspiciously, glancing around to see if he perhaps mistook her for someone else. “Yes, it is. What’s a Ministry employee doing here in Hogsmeade?”
Nic’s back raised a little higher, “I’m actually Head of the Auror’s Office.” Undoing his coat, he shrugged it off, making himself comfortable. “Why I’m here isn’t important. They make a far better cup of coffee here than in the office anyway.”

“Nope, but you do! Happy Birthday!”
“My birthday isn’t until--nevermind. How did you carry that from the castle?”

The cafe was nearly filled with the lunch rush on the weekend. Hogsmeade wasn’t usually her ideal spot to work, but she had to compromise for her work. Spying wasn’t as exciting as people thought it was, and she was grateful for the movies making it so that her presence inconspicuous. “What are you doing?” she asked as the person sat down across from her uninvited.
He had figured it was time he made contact with the woman who’d been, in his opinion, lurking around the Ministry. Besides, he needed a good coffee that morning. He ignored the stately look sent his way, “Sitting down. That’s what people do in a coffee shop, is it not?”

Auror Office
The Aurors are the detectives of the Wizarding world, looking at cases of murder and Dark Magic. They spend their days either in the offices, working on their cases, or out in the streets. This job is busy and dangerous; all Aurors risk their lives every day. While their work is grim, the offices are very bright and colourful. They work in open cubicles, with walls covered in the interests of the Auror working within them. There are pictures of suspects, maps, newspaper clippings, and the like.
The Department is headed by none other than Harry James Potter, saviour of Britain from Lord Voldemort. He is a kind boss and is one of the ones that will give you a day off if you need to go see your son in his first Quidditch game or to go a meeting with your landlord. His Deputy Katherine Castle is much the same. It is her laugh that will ring throughout the offices. She is a bright and wildly tough witch, with a clever mind.
Head of Department: Harry Potter
Deputy Head of Department: Katherine Castle
Other Members: John Dawlish, Jay Proudfoot, Naveen Savage, Ivan Williamson, Emma Vanity, Cyril Meakin, Mervyn Wynch, Gabriel Truman, Allison Tennant
