having children had always been a difficult conversation for you.

when you were younger, you had to have surgery in your stomach. the doctors had told you afterwards that it had caused a complication with your uterus, preventing you from getting pregnant in the future.

when you met peter you were happy. he made you feel safe and loved. but you knew he was the type that wanted children since he grew up without parents. of course he had aunt may, but it wasn’t the same.

he doesn’t know yet, he’s briefly mentioned wanting children before but you just brushed it off. but now that your relationship was getting serious - you’re engaged - and you needed to tell him.

so you decided to bring it up. in the middle of watching brooklyn 99. and let’s just say you picked either the perfect episode or the worst one to tell him.

“hey babe?” you turned away from the tv and looked at your fiancé.

“yeah?” he turned to you smiling. seeing his beautiful, happy face, you got nervous.

“nothing.” you shook your head and turned back to the show you were watching. peter put his hand on your shoulder, worriedly.

“what is it, love? you can tell me anything.” you smiled weakly before hesitantly speaking,

“well, d-do you want children?” peter smiled widely at you.

“of course i want children, baby. why, do you?” that brought tear to your eyes. you hated yourself for having to disappoint him.

“i- i do but-” you started tearing up. peter frowned worriedly, giving you space to continue. “i can’t have a baby, pete. i’m so so sorry.” you started sobbing as peter held you to his chest kissing your head lightly.

“hey, hey. it’s okay. don’t blame yourself, love. it’s not your fault.” you kept crying as your the love of your life comforted you, sad to see you so ashamed of something that wasn’t your fault.

soon your sobs turned into sniffles and quick breaths. you looked up to your fiancé with teared stained cheeks. he caressed your face, kissing your nose lovingly.

“i wish we could have children.” you frowned.

“but we can, baby.” your eyes lit up innocently.

“we can? how?”

“well, we can adopt, we can hire a surrogate, there’s a lot of ways we can have a baby.”

“oh yeah.” you smiled. “after we get married, maybe we can adopt a baby?” peter kissed your lips briefly.

“of course.”

it was no secret you were an artist. you had always loved drawing and painting. and one of your favourite things to draw, was your boyfriend. of course, he didn’t know that you drew him.

until today, when he was waiting patiently for you in your dorm. sitting there, bored, he looked around the room, where he spotted some paper peeking out from under your pillow.

curious, he went for it, pulling out a sheet of sketching paper. the first thing he saw was a face, but not just any face. his face, he realized.

right as he was about to take a closer look, the door opened. you locked eyes with regulus and noticed the specific sheet of paper in his hands. eyes widening, you reached for the drawing. regulus snatched it away before you could grab it.

“ummm, you weren’t meant to see that.” you said, embarrassed.

“i know, love. but i just gotta say, i think my nose is a little off.” at that you snatched the drawing out his hands in panic.

“it is? i can fix it. i just need—”

“y/n, i’m just messing with you. i love it, it’s perfect.” regulus chuckled. your expression softened as you stepped toward your boyfriend.

“yeah, ‘make you look like a god, don’t i?” you asked smugly, proud of your drawing skills.

“what do you mean? i already look like a god.”

“james, we shouldn’t be out here!” you said laughing as your boyfriend pulled you out into the rain.

he had told he had an amazing idea, and knowing james, it was gonna be something stupid. but in reality, you thought it romantic.

sure, you’d probably get sick but he had said, “so what? we’ll be sick together.”

so there you two were, swaying in the rain, as everyone else in the castle was beginning to fall into a slumber.

james took hold of your hand as you separated to twirl you around, a big smile on both your faces. you giggled, brushing some wet locks off of your face.

james caressed your face and lifted you up, spinning you around again. after he put you down, you started to take off your shoes and kick water at him.

“hey! what, you wanna start a war with me?” your boyfriend asked, feigning offence.

“that’s why i did it, right?” you said like it was obvious.

at that, he kicked water toward you splashing your clothes. you laughed as the both of you kicked water at each other, back and forth. overall, it was a great night.

harry and y/n were lying on the sofa together. she was lying in between harry legs, her back against his chest. they were simply staring at the fire and enjoying each other’s company. all was well. that is, until harry spoke.

“y/n, can you get up? i have to go.” his girlfriend turned to look at him.

“go? go where?” harry got up after y/n moved away. he grabbed his things from the floor.

“i’m tutoring someone.”

“really? who are you tutoring?” y/n followed harry towards the entrance of the common room. harry stopped and turned around to look at her.

“romilda vane.” he said plainly. he turned around again, prepared to leave but was caught by the grip on his wrist.

“romilda vane? seriously?” y/n looked upset as harry turned around to face her again.

“yeah. is there a problem?” harry asked.

“yeah, there’s a problem. you’re gonna be left alone in a room with her.”

“oh, i see. you’re jealous.”

“what? i’m not jealous!”

“okay, then let me go tutor her.” harry crossed his arms over his chest.

“no! do you even know her reputation with guys at this school? she’ll do anything to pull them!”

“okay, now you’re just being paranoid.” harry muttered. y/n scowled angrily, feeling the tears behind her eyes.

“i’m being paranoid? harry, she’s tried to drug you with a love potion before, remember?! but ron got it instead. what do you think would’ve happened if ron hadn’t eaten those chocolates?”

“i don’t know y/n, but romilda’s a nice girl. i’m sure she didn’t mean to hurt anyone. don’t you trust me?” y/n placed a hand on her forehead and groaned quietly.

“are you fucking kidding me?! of course i trust you! it’s her i don’t trust!”

“i don’t believe you.” harry stared her in the eyes, glaring.

“so you believe her over me?” the tears were getting harder to hold back.

“yeah, i do. you know i never knew you were the jealous type. that’s so unattractive.” fuck it. the tears were falling down the girl’s cheeks, non-stop.

“you know what?! go fucking tutor her, okay! i don’t want to fight with you anymore.” y/n almost choked out a sob. harry left without a word, leaving his girlfriend in the middle of the room, crying her eyes out.

maybe she was just being jealous. but she was just worried about harry. she knew how intense romilda could be about getting what she wants. and she’d never actually do anything unless harry was alone.

the fact is harry and y/n needed each other the most. but harry didn’t see the problem in tutoring a girl in his class. he was upset that his girlfriend thought that he would do something to hurt her. and in the heat of the moment, he said some things he regretted. but he was too prideful to apologize.

of course the tutoring session went how y/n thought it would. romilda not so subtly flirting with harry, touching his arm, laughing at stupid jokes, etc.

at one point she even grabbed his face and tried to kiss him. but harry stopped her before she could. that’s when he realized, y/n was right. she was right not to trust romilda, and he needed to make up with her, now.

he took his things and left, not a word to romilda. he ran into the common room desperately, finding it empty. he ran up the stairs to her dorm and knocked softly on the door.

“who is it?” he heard a horse voice from inside the room. she was probably crying, he thought. now he felt worse about the fight.

“umm, it’s harry.” harry heard shuffling inside the room and lit up expecting her to open the door. nope.

“go away.”

“please, y/n. i’m sorry, you were right about romilda. you weren’t being paranoid you were just looking out for me. i’m sorry, i should have listened to you. you don’t have to let me in but i just wanted to apologize.” at that, y/n opened the door. she stood with tear-stained cheeks.

“come in.” she stepped aside and let her boyfriend in. they sat on the bed in silence. “so what happened?”

“she tried to kiss me. i stopped it.” y/n nodded and muttered,

“i told you.”

“i know. and i’m sorry i said such horrible things to you. i just- i thought you didn’t trust me. i didn’t understand. I regretted it as soon as i said it.”

“what you did was wrong,” y/n started.

“i know.”

“but if you give me your word to never to do it again and keep it, i’ll forgive you.” harry nodded and took hold of y/n’s hands.

“i promise. i won’t hurt you again, okay. at least not intentionally.” there he is. y/n thought. she hugged harry, chuckling.

“let’s never fight like this again, okay? i love you.” harry smiled against y/n’s shoulder and grabbed her face to kiss her. she kissed back lovingly, having missed the feeling of his lips on hers.

digging her hands in the boy’s hair, y/n deepened the kiss, sending sparks down harry’s spine. wanting more, he moved his mouth down toward her neck, leaving a trail of kisses down her collar bone.

y/n groaned softly and pulled harry back up to her lips to kiss him. she slipped her tongue into his mouth and brought him closer, if possible. after a while of making out, they pulled away breathlessly, smiling at each other. harry spoke,

“i love you, too.”

two months ago you met him. a month later you started dating. now peter was coming over to your house for the first time.

three years ago though, when you were 17, you had your son. your now ex boyfriend had gotten you pregnant and ditched you two, leaving you in the hands of your mom.

since you weren’t ready for peter to find out, you asked your mom to take him out for the day while you took peter back to your apartment. she agreed happily, excited to spend time with her grandson.

you picked peter up outside the doors of the science department at nyu and drove back to your apartment. you had made sure to put away all your son’s toys beforehand, hoping you could keep peter in the living room and kitchen.

“so… this is it!” you gestured to the entrance of your living space. peter walked in looking around, small smile on his face.

“it’s really nice!”

“yeah?” you placed your arms around his neck. he nodded and kissed your lips. “do you want a drink? food?”

“umm… maybe water?”

“sure.” you walked away to get your boyfriend some water. for the next few hours you two talked and watched movies, ordering take-out for lunch in between. a few hours passed until you heard the doorbell ring.

“oh. one sec. it must be a package.” you got up from the couch and opened the door, surprised to see your son and his grandmother.

“mommy!” your son ran to your legs and hugged them. you picked him in confusion, placing him on your hip.

“i’m sorry, honey. we forgot his elephant blanky. you know he can’t go anywhere without it.” you were so focused on the current situation, you didn’t hear peter walking towards you.

“babe, who’s at the…” he stopped once he noticed the person at the door and in your arms. “oh! is this your little brother? you never told me you had a little brother.”

great. you couldn’t hide it anymore. your son was the biggest part of your life and peter was becoming really important as well. you looked at the toddler in your arms and looked back at peter.

“no, peter… um… this is cairo. my- my son.” peter’s mouth was left agape. he’s gonna break up with me, is what you were thinking.

“your son?” you nodded. peter’s face slowly broke out into a grin. “he’s adorable! hey, little buddy!” you sighed of relief while you noticed your mother smiling at the three of you. she told you that she would leave after she said goodbye to cairo. “how old is he?”

“tell peter how old you are, cai.” you whispered sweetly to your son. he looked shyly up at your boyfriend. he held up three little fingers.

“three?” peter asked. cai nodded. “that’s so cool! i wish i was three again.” peter sighed dramatically. your son laughed at his joke, slightly warming up to him.

the three of you spent some time talking and you were eternally glad that peter seemed to like your son.

“mommy? why is peter here? who is he?” your son asked curiously.

“well… peter is my… boyfriend.” cairo jumped up and down on the couch, giggles falling out of his mouth.

“mommy has a boyfwendddd!” he stopped. “does dat mean he’s my new daddy?” he tilted his head, hands on your shoulders.

“uhhh, uhm… i-”

“if you’ll let me be, cai.” peter answered for you. you looked at him wide eyed, then smiled. you kissed your son’s nose, holding on to peter’s hand.

“what he said.” cairo returned to jumping up and down. he suddenly lunged into both your arms.

“i love you, mommy. and i don’t loveee peter yet but i do really like him.” you and peter chuckled.

“i love you, too baby.” you kissed cai on the cheek. peter kissed you and your son on the cheek.

“i love both of you already.”

“it’s so cool how women are police officers now. i wish peggy could see it. she was an amazing agent.”

“who’s peggy?” bruce asked. big mistake. he’s gonna run his mouth about this peggy person forever.

“who’s peggy? oh, she was my friend at the army camp. me and bucky were friends with her, actually. she was such a great person, you know? she always saw the best in people, she was brave and honest and she was… gorgeous. she always told me she wanted to be a soldier. and we promised to on a date before i-”

“steve.” you interrupted him, annoyed.

“yeah?”

“you’re mouth is eh… moving a lot, like a rat. shut it, please. thank you steve.” everyone stared blankly at you.

“why a rat?” steve asked, confused.

“because they whine and squeak all day like a bitch.” tony was already laughing at steve’s face. it was a mix of offence and confusion. “all you do is rant about the your time in the 40’s. well, guess what steve, your time had passed! you are literally like 100 years old and the literal definition of a grandpa, grandpa!”

obviously, everyone was laughing except for steve. someone had to be the funny one of the group, you know? steve grumbled angrily,

“piss off, guys.”
