FILM REVIEW: LIVE ACTION OF BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
*If you have not seen Beauty and the Beast yet in cinemas I suggest you don’t read this review as it contains spoilers*
Tumblr media
Where do I begin! I absolutely love love love the film! Everything about this film is beautiful and perfect. Yes I know there is “no such thing as perfect” but this film to me is my idea of perfect.
From start to finish my eyes were glued to the cinema screen, I smiled throughout the film, and I cried my eyes out during certain scenes; the ball scene, the scene where the Beast dies and comes back to life as human, and the ending.
Tumblr media
There are six aspects of this film that stood out to me the most I want to share with you guys.
Aspect no.1:
Tumblr media
I love the fact that the live action film stuck pretty much to the story from the original animation film. I’m happy the directors and producers stuck to the original story because the live action wouldn’t be the same and I personally think it would have ruined the film. Another reason why I’m happy about the original story being in the live action film is because the original animation of Beauty and the Beast is my all time favourite Disney Princess film and I would have been so sad and upset if the live action didn’t follow the original story.
Aspect no.2:
Tumblr media
I love the extra added scenes and little banter that wasn’t in the original animation film. My top two favourite added scenes are; Belle and Beast (Prince Adam) were ‘transported’, shall we say, to where Belle was born and where her mother passed away. I loved that the film shared the story of Belle’s mother, even though it was very sad, because in the original film they didn’t speak and share about Belle’s mother. My other favourite scene was Beast having his own solo! I absolutely loved that so much! Dan Stevens who portrayed/played the Beast had such a beautiful voice and I love the lyrics in the song. I’m so happy the directors and the producers gave the Beast his own solo because that to me is something special and it was nice to see that personality side of the Beast.
Aspect no.3:
Tumblr media
The set, props, costumes, the CGI and Animation. Every single one of those aspects in the film are a 10/10. The set is visually beautifully, the costumes were incredible and looked like they were made to a great standard, the CGI and animation is the best I’ve seen in a film that involves a lot of CGI and animation work. I loved how they made the characters like Lumiere different to how they looked in the original. The Beast was a whole new level! The Beast was incredible and looked so much better than how expected the Beast to look like. Plus can we just take a moment to appreciate the yellow dress. I AM IN LOVE! I also love the dress Belle wears at the end of the film, absolutely beautiful.
Tumblr media
Aspect no.4:
Tumblr media
The music and the singing! The original music and the new music (which weren’t in the original) were sung to such a high standard! Being half Welsh I firstly have to talk about Luke Evans (incase you guys didn’t know Luke Evans ,who portrays/plays Gaston, is Welsh). Oh My God. Luke Evans has a fantastic voice and I loved when he sang ‘Gaston’ along side Josh Gad, who portrays/plays Le Fou, because the tone of his voice suited the song brilliantly! My no.1 favourite ‘musical’ scene is ‘Be Our Guest’. That scene was amazing!! The song was mainly song by Ewan McGregor who is Lumier, Emma Thompson who is Mrs. Potts, and the rest of the extra characters from the film. Emma Watson singing was beautiful, Josh Gad was fab, Dan Stevens touched my heart, especially when he sung his solo as the Beast! Everyone who was a part of this film sang amazingly! Basically I loved the music and the singing and all of it has completely blown my mind away!
Aspect no.5:
Tumblr media
The second to last aspect I’m going to talk about is the cast. When the media etc announced the cast for the film, I straight away fell in love with the cast and it made me so damn excited for the film to be released! Watching the cast as their characters in the film make me feel that the entire cast jelled really well together and I think when a film cast or Tv series cast jell really well together, I feel thats one of the main things that makes a film or Tv series so good. I really hope that makes sense 😹. When Emma Watson was announced as Belle I was so excited but there was a tiny part of me that was a little scared of seeing Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and not Belle. I love Harry Potter and I loved Emma Watson as Hermione Granger but for Beauty and the Beast I really wanted to see Emma Watson as Belle and not Hermione. This is because I felt if I saw E.W as H.G in the film it would have possibly slightly ruin it for me but thankfully I saw E.W as Belle! I loved Ian McKellen as Cogsworth. His voice and the personality he gives to the character fits together perfectly. I can go on and on about each actor and actress and how I loved them as their characters but this post would a lot longer than it already is! I love the cast of Beauty and the Beast and, in all honestly, this cast is the best set of actors and actresses I’ve seen in a film in a long time.
Aspect no.6:
Tumblr media
*This was the only GIF I could fine that had the two specific characters I want to talk about. Unfortunately no images or GIF’s have been released of this specific 3 sec scene at the ending of the film*
Finally the last ‘aspect’. Beauty and the Beast is my all time favourite Disney Princess film and I am a supporter of the LGBT community. I am so happy and proud that the live action of Beauty and the Beast is the first ever Disney film to show an openly gay character. Le Fou, played/portrayed by Josh Gad, is the first openly gay Disney character and I think J.G did a brill job of portraying his openly gay character. I felt he made his character obvious enough, through out the entire film, to let the viewers know that Le Fou is the openly gay character. I loved the ending scene where they showed Le Fou dancing with another male gay character. Even though it was only for a split 3-5 seconds I’m still very happy that the directors and producers gave Le Fou a happy ending with another gay character.
Those are the six aspects that stood out to me the most from film. Which certain aspects of the film stood out to you the most?
If you haven’t seen this magnificent film, please please please do! You will not be disappointed! Honestly, creating this post has brought tears to my eyes because this film touched me so much when I watched it in the cinema and I watched the original animation throughout the whole of my childhood. This film means so much to me and it most likely will for the rest of my life.
I hoped you enjoy reading my review of Beauty and the Beast and thanks so much for reading!

100% Dogs! I have nothing against cats as think they are beautiful and one of the most sassiest animals around but I prefer dogs. I always have done and I always will.
Q5. Funniest moment throughout school?
I have no idea where to start or which moment to share because there are just too many to choose from! One of my favourite moments was two years ago during my last year at school. I was in Sixthform and one of my friends at the time decided that she wanted to leave Sixthfrom as it wasn’t for her. On her last day she was quite upset as she was going to be leaving so me and a group of friends decided to cheer her up by playing loads of games around the school. These games consisted of Ninja Slaps, Tag, and Hide and Seek. It’s a funny memory because we were running around the school hiding but acting casual at the same time because we didn’t want to get caught messing around and not doing work. No teacher suspected a thing! It was a great and hilarious day.
Q6. How many countries have you visited?
The countries/states/Cities I have been to so far are Italy (Rome and Florence), France (Paris), Austria, Philippines, Florida, NYC, Washington DC, and Zambia.

I haven’t found my ‘cup of tea’. As for coffee I don’t mind it but its a drink I rarely drink. I’m not a hot drinks kinda person, apart from hot chocolate! I love a good cuppa of hot chocolate with cream and marsh mellows on top!

My ideal first date is not a cinema and sit down meal first date. I find that kind of date too common and boring. I personally think having a date like that is a really good way to get to know your date.
Q21. How many boyfriends have you had?
None as I’m fussy, I’m not one of those people who are continuously going on dates here and there, I am the kind of person that likes to wait and be patient for the right guy to come by. I’m only 19 so I’ve got plenty of time.
Q22. Favourite memory from childhood?
During the duration of my childhood I lived in a country called Oman, specifically in a city called Muscat. Long story short my parents had jobs out there, hence why I lived there but I wasn’t born there. One of my favourite childhood memories has to be when it was summer and me and all of my friends, including everyone else in my year, where at the beach and we were all having so much fun swimming in the sea, playing football, vollyball, and just having a lot of beach fun!
