Did i stutter?
I'm gonna put Stellar Blade in the same category as astral chain
Both are games that are heavily influenced by NiER: Automata and have great action, graphics, music, gameplay, but the story falls flat on its face, the level designs are cool but repetitive, & the characters are unremarkable. Astral chain at least had much better voice acting and no camel toe physics. They're both hype and fun to play through but def not GOTY material (except the soundtracks, Stellar Blade had some of the composers from Nier work on it)
I'd recommend if you don't care much about story and would rather kill fucking awesome monsters.

well idk if i could call it disappointing because i didnt expect much from the story
Watching a LP of Stellar Boobs
Calling it now the Naytiba are actually...
fucked up humans and other animals.
The moment they started talking about the mother sphere and how they created modified humans that can survive in space and without food or whatever I was like "oh yep that explains why the naytiba look like mutated humans or demons n shit rather than aliens and why there's gorillas, horses, & scorpions".
I'm more convinced now that they went into that sussy underground bunker thing and naytibas with human clothes are attacking them as well as skinned adult exploding fetuses.

Ok so I was close.
I feel like I'd get more if I wasn't watching cr1tikal powering through the game without looking at other things. Not sure if the sidequests would have offered much more like the ones in Automata did. I doubt it. Not quite done watching yet but I want to get some thoughts off.
So anyway
Was pretty obvious mother sphere was sus but I guess she created the androids instead and then the androids...forgot they were androids?
Or are they cyborgs? They're like weird fleshy machine combos. I can't tell if they're born and age like humans or are created?
Also knew the Orc was sus too but didn't expect him to be Pascal a good guy naytiba. I was thinking he was tricking EVE into getting the hypercores(?) for some nefarious reasons. How were they not able to detect he was one? And Man, Mann had a rad design and just got wrecked without doing anything cool
also what the FUCk was up with the tachy battle? there was NO explanation whatsoever. Eve didn't even ask her wtf happened.
I mean overall the dialogue and voice acting was pretty dull. The characters are flat, boring, and not really likable. Lily was the least bad of them. They were all just bumbling through the plot mostly.
The story itself is decent. Not blast my tits out of the water groundbreaking anything but had enough twists to keep me on my toes. The stuff that really kept me watching was the action and the badass enemy designs, especially the bosses. Like holy shit some of them were so good.
Makes me wish there was more variation in Automata. A lot of the smaller details that SB has would have made N:A a lot more vibrant. The androids were all too human. It would have been nice to see more fucked up androids. All we get is that sidequest where Theseus-bot was like damn my OG leg is fucked up that's all I got left :(
It would have been a stark contrast to see the perfect looking porcelain YoRHa dolls next to some 500 year resistance android with mismatched parts, or one who's wired into the wall because they can no longer move. Or have some resistance androids suspicious of yorha androids.
Woulda been nice to have more varied hacking minigames too. And something completely different for emil.
Not sure if I forgot or didn't see or if it wasn't explained but how and why did the naytibas start fusing with machines?
Anyway, not done watching yet. Old man just died and we got the hypercube and adam is just gone.
