I don't know why but I always come back to this scene. We never get to see him at a loss and confused on what he was. Guess this is why this page from Shin Spirits hits me like a truck.
Hayato has the same emotional insecurity as Hongo does, it's just he's better at masking it. Take that as you will I guess. But there's something about him not feeling as sure as himself as a Rider that makes it every time he fails and gets absolutely beaten down by Tachihbana hurt that much more. I wonder if Hayato is the type of person who stares alone into the ocean at night questioning his reason for living. I think so, if you ask me.

Kamen Rider V3 is so funny because out of suit Kazami is so cool and stylish, especially later in the season...but the suit is sweet faced baby bug. Which makes it especially funny when Riderman shows up and the dynamic is like
