How well do you know your lover, guardian, or neighbor? If they are a demon, they may suffer from * benders. Fear not, as there is a consistent cycle observed in demons meant to keep you and them safe and happy.
* benders are hormonal imbalances caused by skewed brain chemistry, only found in some demons.

Day 1: Demon takes blockers [pink phase]
● A bit drowsy

Day 2-7: blockers kicking in [yellow phase]

● Hyperactive
● Super strong
● Hungry
Day 8-9: spiraling down [blue phase]
● Losing muscle stamina
● Sensitive to loud noises and bright lights
● Irritable
● Starving, can't get full
Day 10: calm [red phase]
● Not too different from pink phase
● Seems normal
● Jittery, muscle spasms
● No appetite
Day 11: bender [charcoal phase]
● Violent
● Very strong
● Balance issues
● Insatiable hunger
● Vision impaired
● Cannot understand words
● Unexplainable crying
● Long amnesiac episodes

● Cannibalistic, may eat your family
Q: "How can I keep my demon neighbor from eating me alive?"
A: Ask your demon neighbor or loved one what day they take their medicine, or observe it through their window in secret. Write their date down in your calendar, and gently remind them to take it roughly 8 days after their last dose. Remember, the only thing standing between you and that demon's teeth is luck and technique!
Q: "What should I do in the event my demon neighbor reaches day 10 without taking their medicine?"
A: There are many things you can do if your demon goes unmedicated! See the below bullet list:
● Hide in a dark room with all of the doors and windows locked, shove a towel under the door opening to trap your scent inside, cry as silently as possible.
● Cry loudly (may be fatal).
● Sacrifice any loud thing you have on hand (loud children's toy, fireworks, your youngest).
● Throw the demon a fresh cut of meat.
● Raise farm animals, leave the gate open.
● Drink poison.
● Call another neighbor's communicator, it will distract the demon.
● Skip town.
● Put a full-body mirror in front of your door.
● Put pictures you've taken with them up in front of your door, they may remember they know you.
● Know self-defense, cutting the demon will slow them down, possibly allowing you to escape.
● Play dead.
● Do not run.
Remember, demons are worth loving, but not dying for! Always try your hardest to make yourself as unappetizing as possible by being extra kind and patient with them. Demons cannot be killed by regular means. DO NOT RUN. Happy loving!

How are you doing?
I've been okay!! I'm struggling with depression, but in the way where I don't feel sad? I'm just losing interest in like, everything. I'm about to go in for top surgery though, so I think I'll be less depressed during my recovery!! I'm still working on my game, I'm just struggling to focus and create art </3 the coding is going great, though!! I'll be off work for 6 weeks so I think I can manage a full release, all of the art is done anyway :) thank you for checking in!! ♡♡♡

Last month was the 1 year anniversary of the start of development!!
[I've had a rough go in general since then, I hope you're all doing better than I was :) but I'm all good now!!] Fine-tuning the game currently, haha
Updates:
☆ fixed every sprite in the game!! Every CG, too!! All 500 of them!!

Progress report 4!!!
Gosh, it's been almost a year since I started development on nighthive//skindeep!! I've been very busy with work and moving lately, but I've still been making time for development ( ^▽^) Most of what I have left is just CGs. Every sprite is currently fininshed, the game just needs polishing before it goes into beta testing. Other important updates:
☆ Releasing a demo! You've all been waiting so long, you deserve one :)
☆ Finished most of the base game's script! That's almost an entire in-game week of gameplay >:3
☆ ANGST
☆ Each romancable character has a special system to determine if they like you! Gatherine's is super cute :3
☆ replaced every placeholder bg!
☆ cameos from mutuals ocs! (Only in finished base game, sorries)
☆ made theme songs for every character! :D
☆ new character is fully developed >:)))

The layout of Gatherine's house!! >w<
Facts and info:
☆ originally, the "house" was a massive concrete room with nothing but the elevator. The house was designed by Bresklyn and the foster monsters, since Gatherine wants them to be more comfortable. That's why there are some odd design elements, they were young when they designed it.
☆ walls vary in thickness for obvious reasons, like the torture room wall being 2 feet thick. Most walls are paper thin, so everyone knows where everyone else is. Walls were put up by the residents of the house.
☆ torture room(s) are locked, Gatherine holds onto a skeleton key. This key is the only key in the building that unlocks her chamber.
☆ there is a sleeping bag, space heater, and chair in the storage room, where Gatherine cools down between torture sessions and may possibly sleep if she's particularly concerned about you for any reason.
☆ large kitchen, where you can often find Gatherine, who's favorite hobby is cooking.
☆ "your room" is a re-purposed torture chamber, your bed has bloodstains.
☆ bathroom door has no lock, for reasons I cannot currently disclose.
☆ no windows. Many locks on the exit.
☆ Dawsin's room is right behind his office.
☆ door between the moms' room and Dawsin's for safety reasons.
☆ 30 ft. area for you to run around outside ♡

So, the decided span of the game is 5 days, not including the day you're taken, day 0!! There are 5 events per day 1-5 you can choose from, though you can usually only do 2 or 3 daily. Your decisions will shape your little creature, who you can influence to do disgusting things!! There's tiny little things you can do in the game, which effect nothing, and game changing events that will get you killed or ruin your playthrough :)
The characters in NHSD remember the things you do to them, your sins will not be forgotten.
