XDDDDDDD...wait are you serious? Alright I'll put it like this.
1: Imagine that you are the master of a palace, a very powerful former warrior of yours is on his way to your place to smash your face into pieces and steal an ancestral relic by force, so far so good, right? perfect And when they have to choose the person who is going to stop him, they choose an otaku chef with no experience in kung fu, what would you do? Exactly, kick him out of the place to save his life. And when you realize that it may have potential and you've no options, what do you do? understand him to confront him and give him the powers. (The only ones who made fun of his fatness were Tai Lung and the 5).
2: Shifu didn't have a reason to train them because they were randoms, Tigress confused Shifu's scroll with the one Po threw in the trash and that's why they chose them, the warriors Shifu chose were red pandas like him. He was against the clock to face a wild boar weighing several kilos. He didn't have time to train them and he wanted to save their lives, he even wasn't going to let Tigress fight. The red pandas were already masters before, there is also the master chicken and the masters bodyspins from the third movie, the goose masters from the series, there was a master ant, surely there are masters pigs too, animals/people who couldn't even be taller than Tigress's knee.
There is no racism (at least between species) for kung fu in this universe, the chameleon thing is just a crude excuse that they made in a hurry so that at least she had motivation since she wasn't going to have one in the beginning, and even if her motivation was even real, that doesn't save this movie from the 20 script holes it has separately from this detail.
Don't try to defend a movie that insults you as a viewer, I'm as much of a fan of the saga as you are or more, and unlike this piece of audiovisual garbage made to get money from children by treating them like idiots with attention deficit, I try to make you see it. What we should do is try to prevent rubbish like this from being released again. You and me deserve more than this, friend.
A lot could've been done better, but I don't find the Chameleon's backstory as ridiculous as people make it sound considering how:
1- Shifu spent half of the first movie trying to get rid of Po, even when he was chosen by Oogway
2- This was literally his reaction in secrets of the scroll

KFP 4: The true hell behind the cameras ft. The Co-director of KFP4
I know I already made my review to this thing, and believe me when I say that I didn't want to talk anymore about this dawn movie (For call it something). But the reason for this statement is something that I cannot ignore, so hold on to your seat because what you are going to read is not a mission impossible movie, this really happened in the same Dreamworks studios.
The devil has different names depending on the religion;
-In the Catholic religion he is called Satan.
-In Islam he's Iblís.
-In Buddhism it's Mara.
But in the world of kung fu panda, the devil has a human name, Mike Mitchell.
Context? Three days ago, as a result of all the protests about the poor narrative quality of the film, the KFP's reddit community was able to find someone from within the production of the film, a witness who could corroborate everything that we assumed was happening within that studio.
This person is no one else but the co-director of kfp4, Stephanie Ma Stine. One of the main people who, along with a large part of the team of animators who love this saga too, fought and fought throughout the production so that the film was not completely destroyed from the beginning.
This woman was contacted by a discord channel to answer some questions that the community was asking in the company of the administrators of the discord group of the kung fu panda fandom, at first this woman seemed frustrated by something that I am going to explain, The entire conversation was recorded and uploaded to YouTube to expose the nauseating experience that Stephanie had to endure during the production of this film.
To begin with, she had almost no power within the production because she was considered someone new to her job and the disgusting bosses at Dreamworks had no better idea than to give all creative control to Mike.
Dreamworks gave a time limit for the duration of the film, later you will know why. This guy didn't have the slightest idea how to direct such a short movie, much less if it was a kung fu panda movie, since the guy treated kung fu panda like a chinese version of the minions, obviously because he didn't give a shit about franchise and he just wanted something that would make people laugh (But his humor and the scriptwriters's was so bad that even it would insult ilumination itself) although not even the children could find this humor funny.
What kind of humor? Well, you know; fart humor, jokes with a childish tone, random chases that contribute nothing to the plot, jokes about annoying and invincible children, jokes without charisma, generation Z humor, random hits, etc...
And like any sane person would do, Stephanie tried to give it that serious but parodic and heartfelt tone that the first triology had, but obviously they barely listened to her because she was considered new. So she had to resort to encouraging people passionate about the saga within the studio to insist on adding things that would improve the plot. Most of the time when they insisted on improving the quality of the script it ended in a roll of eyes from the higher ups within the production as if trying to tell them; "Damn stupid people, so much bother for a children's saga that is only used to make easy money"
The problem transcended for a long time as more and more absurd ideas came out of the writing team, some of them that even destroyed the logic of the world they were building, all of this was translated into a long and nightmarish trench war between those who love the saga and the psychopaths who only cared about money.
So, what happened next? Well, the movie came out and fans (and non-fans) were disappointed because the movie seems like a draft made by people who didn't seem to speak the same language during the artistic decisiones in the movie. Exactly, because of all this conflict between those who agreed with Stephanie and those who listened to Mike.
And in the end, it was Stephanie who had to politely come forward in front of the disappointed people to give these professionally humiliating explanations, and what did Mike do on his part? Bury his head like an ostrich and do not listen to the criticism that he generated for their horrible decisions.
youtube
(Stephanie's user is called storyduke)
This is the conversation between her and the administrators of the discord group, pause the video calmly and read on your own if you need it, for prove I haven't invented anything of this to defame Mike or something like this. All this comes from the person who was by his side during all production.
In order not to overwhelm you because the video is very long, I leave you a summary of what she said below. I will mainly use the comment of this reddit user called Mystic3012 who explains all this quite well (My comments will be marked in red):
Early on, KFP4 was considered to be live action-animation hybrid, and featured humans (WTF?!). I posted concept art of the human Chameleon (then, The Collector, even though we already have Kai the Collector) vs Po. Seems like Zhen would've been human too. They'd have come from Hu-man City (Wow, how originally -_-), apparently... To add insult to injury, one of these versions had Po, the protagonist, stuck in a BOX for 20 MINUTES. (20 minutes... no words for this. And no, you're not reading wrong, HUMANS IN KUNG FU PANDA. If it hadn't been for Stephanie, this is what they would have given us. Thanks Stephanie, guys)
Mike Mitchell, the director, had total creative freedom. Hence, him + the studio leadership wanting laughs and a more joke-y vibe led to the overall tone, like the F5's comical side missions. Jack Black called him the "comedy guy"(I want to think jack Black is another victim here and he simply couldn't do nothing because his contract does not allow it), while Stephanie brought "things deeper" and "more heart".
Additionally, it was Mitchell who insisted against fleshing out the Chameleon's backstory "What a surprise...right guys?". Apparently, Chameleon and Zhen had ZERO backstory in early versions. By the time the crew pushed him enough to change his mind, they were too far along in animating to add anything but the Chameleon's few lines.
The runtime was a studio mandate since they believed children can't watch a longer film + maximize profits (You motherfu...).
TV shows are non-canon, as they are under separate film and television divisions that are "rivals".
Lord Shen, General Kai, and the Furious Five were VERY last minute additions to the point that their animation rigs were "made of sticks and glue"(The 3D models were so poorly made due to lack of time that if they made original animations, they would directly break, they had to reuse animations from the first, second, third movie and from the Christmas short for the credits. The animations of Crane and Shen's feathers, according to her, were bugged a lot and the wings tended to separate from the body or bend in unrealistic ways during animation tests). Hence, no plot relevance (e.g. not redeemed properly) and inability to bring back their actors, as much as some of the crew advocated for their return. Furthermore, there's a thing where actors are brought in for voice roles with X amount of money, and exponential increases for sequels. Apparently, a single line from Jolie would've cost $20 million (Easy Angelina!! XD. They could have simply changed the actress who played her like for example the one who play her in Secrets of the Scroll or the one of Legend of Awessomless, this was simply used as an excuse not to add them to the film), so you can imagine why the Five were absent...
Not everyone who dies goes to the Spirit Realm. It's not a definite rule behind-the-scenes, but it's vaguely agreed upon that only kung fu practitioners can pass on. It was also Mitchell's idea that all 3 villains were indeed sent to the Realm and that the Chameleon only wanted master VILLAINS summoned. [Pretty sure that retcons Lord Shen but alas-]
Pelican is named Chip, and a female. The fish in her beak is Fish.
Calvin Tsang, Head of Story, directed "a short film for KFP 4". Though, DreamWorks gave him a low budget but apparently he pulled enough favours for it to work out, with Stephanie describing it as "amazing, seriously" and shows "how strong of a director's voice he has".
Future spin-offs uncertain. DreamWorks has dissolved most, if not all, of its TV division.
Though, Mitchell was very vocal about a F5 spinoff. Execs are aware of the fans' demand for it (Wow thank you...-_-, just don't ruin it again).
Shifu's staff lacks its golden piece since it has been repaired following his mastery of Chi, per production designer Paul Duncan. (Same man responsible for bringing back the Dagger of Deng Wa with his attention to detail) (Niceee)
Universal mandated for a tentpole film like KFP4 to have "stars" hired for voicework.
For the record, Stephanie wanted for KFP4 to "stay truer to KFP1 and KFP 2" but was dismissed as a nobody by the crew (Basically what I said before, Mike and a good part of his team are anything but respectful of other people's works).
Case in point, she wanted Tai Lung being brought back to be done right. She pitched for Po/Shifu to have a vision of the Chameleon kidnapping Shifu, prompting Po to go on a quest to stop her. Shifu gets kidnapped anyway due to the Chameleon's manipulations, and he's hence present to say goodbye to Tai Lung. The execs loved it but "someone axed it" (That person better not know their identity because the fans cling to Tai Lung, I don't think they'll laugh much at this 😅). For those who've seen the film, the vision was reduced to Po's dream enroute to Juniper City.
Another example of Stephanie's intervention, she fought for Zhen to be redeemed ONSCREEN after betraying Po, much to the writers' refusal (These people don't even respect their own characters). She was supposed to swoop in out of nowhere to fight the Chameleon for a bit and disappears quickly again. She also ensured that her redemption scene wasn't just dialogue and had action going on. (She admits to Po and Zhen's underbaked relationship not supplementing this scene enough though.)
The writers seemed to HATE comments "poking holes at the story" (And then what do they want us to call that; "purposely destroy the canon of history because of its inaccuracy?" On top of bad in their own job, they're crybabies).
Zhen is a Corsac Fox as its the Asian fox with distinctive facial features.
Nico Marlet, renowned concept artist, only worked on the film for a week, left, and refused to come back (I don't even know if I want to know why, just imagine it).
Many crewmembers pitched ideas for Zhen's family's backstory but all were discarded (They can't even develop their own character, I'll call that technique "Work? What is that? it is eatable? XD").
By the way, the thing about humans was no joke.

(Conceptual art made by Luca Pisanu)
Original reddit forum:
Guys, that's it, how not to write a movie. I think you can already imagine my opinion, it is a complete shame what they tried to do with this saga but at least she was able to save it from being completely ruined. I sincerely ask you all to spread this information, I will leave you a link to the original reddit thread for your inspection. And I'm just saying one thing: I hope they fire Mike Mitchell and all his damn inept scriptwriters, and I hope we never see them again in another production of this saga. And of course, to the executives at Dreamworks: Stick your finger up your ass and don't touch what you don't know how to touch.
Don't be silent about these things, because you know what will happen? That they will do the same thing again with the fifth film because they see that the method works, in addition to the fact that they will also exploit their workers for nothing for such a mediocre product (Because yes, they also exploited them to finish the finale on time). Let this not happen again guys, please I ask you.

If that's only the majority, then I'm afraid of know about the rest but I can imagine XD. And do you know what's the worse part?
For some reason, the film gets worse the more times you watch it, I don't know how it could be possible. Well thinking about it carefully, Cars 3 (yes, a cars's movie) made a better development with Lightning McQueen's retirement than Po's, so yeah its more than possible.
But dont be disappointed, just remember that chameleon was defeated by the most lethal and legendary tecnique ever made in Earth.
Exacly, master Cheem's Megabonk
They literally made it canon XD
But wait a sec, so that means...
Confirmed, Rafiki's a kung fu master and Simba is more powerfull than chameleon because he already survived this tecnique. They belong to the same universe, I retired it, this is the best Kung fu Panda movieee!♥️
Oh right, they don't add those two either for lack of budget, the movie is actually a piece of shit again you bastards!!🖕🏼
Kung Fu Panda 4-All the budget went to the animation (spoilers)
Hey all, its me, the guy who everyday make a tour around this site but almost never talk. How are ya?
Two days ago something arrived to the cinema's screens, something that me and everyone were waiting for since 2018, the fourth film and the begginig of the new kung fu panda triology.
You know? When I sat on that theather seat with my friends to see what Dreamworks had prepared for us, I tell myself; "Maybe that post I made a while ago throwing shit at what seemed like Kfp 4 was going to be was a bit hard, I hope I can come out regretting what I said that time"
And as soon as the credits ended, it was clear to me, I dont regret a shit. Maybe it was a little exaggerated, compared to what a megamind fan would think about the terrible sequel they made, but still: the film is crappy and boring most of the time. But why?
I'm going to explain some points.
1- Po? Is that you?
I don't know you guys, but i don't think the panda we knew in the end of the third film is the same as this one. Seriously, he share more comparisons with the Po from the legend of awessonless than the one from the films, maybe its a personal thing but it feels that way. At least in the beggining of the film feel like that.
And I don't know what he was thinking about when he decided to follow a thief he doesn't know at all and who tried to steal in his own palace, and that suspiciously know who is the chameleon, whose were her plans, her past, where she lived, where exacly they had to pass through avoiding all the guard inside her home, why the others thiefs of the city hate her so much... With Po's experience with criminals this is like a chef throwing water on a pan with boiling oil, it's obvious what is going to happen.
2- Zheng- Female Nick Wilde but without charisma or half of his intelligence.
I knew it from the first moment I saw Zheng's desing, the people who know me can corroborate that; her facial expressions, her tone while she talk, her animal race, her position as thief, her final when she is part of the justice same as the protagonist... it's clearer than water I think.
Everyone could say this is forgivable if she's smart, but surprise, she's not. This character is just an absurd try of this company for """"conect with infant audience""""(I don't know in what sense, I supose for the cute design, idk). But the point is, the supposed objective of the hollywood companies is give the new generetions better things than we got at their age, but what I see is laziness for write a decent scrip only for take an advantage of a known IP and make easy money. Even the children have quality standars, this is not the dragon warrior and of course this is not kung fu panda.
And talking about the dragon warrior, having our deep and lovely Tigress with her magnific development or Tai Lung back from the spirit realm... why in the hell this character exists?! Oh yeah, for being trending topic in twitter for three days. Yay...
3- The furious five and Shifu, for us : our pretty boys, and for Dreamworks: living jokes.
What made Kung Fu Panda what it is, is not the fucking panda, it's them. They're the inspiration for Po, their allies, the royale representation of kung fu and the ones which everything started with.
Po's a comic relief, and his mission is show his development in part using his humor, but the humor in this film barely works because of the lazy script. Something that even the talented Jack Black himself can't fix, beacuse his only role there is dublin his character, unlike the rest of the residents of the Jade Palace except Dustin Hoffman.
Seth Rogen (Mantis) himself even said that he wasn't even contact by Dreamworks in the first place, only for make a scream in the credits, that's sad beacause he really wanted to see Mantis on the screen. And I know and I understand that the five are expensive, but cmon, they could just simply change the voice actors and offset it with a good script but that's not the case of course. Their role in the film is being a counter for Po's constant jokes, for not to saturate the spectator with jokes, now that's not in there anymore, thank you Dreamworks.
4-The chameleoooohhn and her "motivation".
I can't say much, basically because out of her design she's nonsense. She says that because of her size, she was reyected for being a kung fu warrior.
Yeah of course but only one little thing, what about Shifu? Viper, a warrior without tips? Mantis, literally a dawn insect? Master Oogway, a TURTLE? The masters goose? C'mon even there's a fucking master chicken! Don't talk shit chameleon!
Her importance for the plot? Its almost a lie, the others villains had links to important characters; Tai Lung (with his link to Shifu's past), Shen (with his link to Po's past) or Kai (with his link to Oogway's past), all of them related to important characters. And her? To zheng's past and present I guess? But again, anyone know this character. She's like a villain from a Disney show, you know the type of villain who say a lot of things but at the end, she don't support nothing to the lore.
And her personality is like a mix of all the previous villains, and this sounds good right? HAHAH nope. Do you remember when as a child you mixed all the plasticines of all the colors to create the final color and you ended up with a color similar to poop? well that's exacly how her personality feels like.
5- Po's dads; the only reason they're there is because they ran out of characters to make the film.
The tittle itself tell everything, they don't do anything for the script in all the film, and their objective could be done since the start.
The script of the film except for the final looks like a draft which they didn't know how to complete, everyone who watch it can see it perfecly. The animation, the music and the backgrounds are the only things notable here.
6- Tai Lung and the cheapness nostalgia.
Fan service is not necesarry bad, above all if is used in a good way, they sold us Tai Lung as a miracle but his importance for the plot feels just like a Stan Lee cameo, I like Tai Lung I can say that. But this is too weak, Shen and Kai are the only characters in the background who don't do nothing except being defeated or make facial expressions.
By the way, anyone else think that the dragon warrior role is understimated? I mean Shifu obligated Po to transfers the role to another one just because yes, i mean he only has been the dragon warrior for less than 5 years and now they want to replace him with a random. Everything just for at the end, take a thief with at least 30 crimes registred and who was a traitor during the 75% of the movie.
7- The """""""""humor"""""""", except they forgot the parts where I must to laugh.
Seeing nonsense hits only beacuse yes stopped of being funny a long time ago, and no, I don't want to talk about the bunnies of the portrait because I would get sick. I had to go to the cinema drunk to endure the filler that the movie had, no joke, it was the only way to laugh at those jokes.
In some point at the beguining Po make a joke about the ausence of the furious five saying that at least he had them in cardboard posters, and this would be a good joke. Only if the stupid film could be prove that the franquise can do something memorable without the furious five, but again, that's not the case.
Coclusion: KFP 4 is just another Po's adventure as Shifu says, it won't tell nothing to you or make you feel different, it's a shame but after Megamind 2 I imagined something like this. It's a dark era for film, expecially the animated one so like Scar said; Be prepare, there're worse things waiting for us.
Do you want something with real quality? You don't even need kung fu panda 1,2 or 3, for make it easy to this film let's take this marvelous example; kung fu panda: secrets of the scroll (2016). You'll say; "An animated short, this is not like-" Shhh Just watch it, you won't regret it.
If you think I'm wrong in something, just rewatch the film. And if still you aren't agreed with me, well, I respect you and I'm happy you like it. I wish I could love it as you do, but sadly this is that type of films that you wouldn't watch all again. Me? I've to write a story, I love you all. Except you, Dreamworks, I'm mad with you, expecially when you do this at the same day as Akira Toriyama's death :(

By the way, anyone else think that the dragon warrior role is understimated? I mean Shifu obligated Po to transfers the role to another one just because yes, i mean he only has been the dragon warrior for less than 5 years and now they want to replace him with a random.
So I think about applying the same method as in any movie with bad jokes, ignoring the jokes. I tried to do the same thing but with the pace that the film managed, such a thing was impossible, the pace of the movie seems to be made for Tiktoker children with attention deficit. From the chaos in the quarry until Po takes the bitc... uhg fox out of prison, only 10 fucking minutes pass, all of that for what? So that you feel like the baseless information and the nonsensical plot that they tell us is of any use? they could simply make a non-canonical short and that's it, but no, yes or they were going to tell us a story written by rotten old men who spend the entire day watching Tik Tok. It's not going to be that the child who sees this doesn't get bored, we know that much today's children don't have many neurons as they say, but even to make movies for them you have to have a certain talent.
In some point at the beguining Po make a joke about the ausence of the furious five saying that at least he had them in cardboard posters, and this would be a good joke. Only if the stupid film could be prove that the franquise can do something memorable without the furious five, but again, that's not the case.
Don't have any respect for this movie, look what it had with you. I understand that it is enjoyable because of the animation but it does not go beyond that line, it destroys important things about the canon and spoils its teaching about the need for change by treating it in a terrible way.
I wish I could love it as you do, but that doesn't mean that the movie isn't bad, because if you watch it with your brain on or remembering the previous movies it's terrible.
. Me? I've to write a story, I love you all. Except you, Dreamworks, I'm mad with you, expecially when you do this at the same day as Akira Toriyama's death :(

Totally agree, that's a denigrating decision for a fraquise which has reached the heart of so many people, winning the "almost-perfect franquise" title. We want a sequel which makes justice to the previous films, keep our beloved characters (yeah, CHARACTERS, with an -s at the end. Take Jack Black's name and write it in big letters on kfp4's posters don't make a good film automatically. Jack Black's an amazing actor yeah, but pay some respect to the others characters who made the franquise be what it is! Po can't hold an entire film/serie by his own, I thought Dragon Knight already teach you that) and bring new amazing one's, and a good plot, and... What I'm forgetting? Oh yeah, a good characters development (It looks like Tigress and Shifu're the only ones who keep this detail, because in dragon knight, it seems that Po lost the few neurons that he had left and that he gained with the passing of the movies). Take more attention to your fans, those ones who admired all the love/talent you put into the previous films and gave all their love to them, not the bunch of stupid childs who only go to the cinema for watch a dumb fat panda banging his head against the walls and making terrible jokes (For that, we've minions movies).
And this my last message for all of you, don't you dare to make the voice actors and your audience lose their time/effort/money in audiovisual garbage which only dirty a beautiful legacy, love the legacy you created ❤, love your trusted audience and love yourselves.
I encourage all of you not to shut up about these things, we have been waiting for this since 2018, and disrespect to the intelligence of the spectator by executives with dumbling brains (yes, because we know that this come from you) should'nt be tolerated. We want a proper menu, not dog food.
Kung Fu Panda 4 - End of an era
Hi, it’s me the guy that loves to draw the tiger lady. When I started making art, I didn’t want to post anything besides my drawings on my social media accounts, however, the leaks for the 4th installment changed my stance on this. I have come to the conclusion that I need to share my thoughts on this, not necessarily because anyone cares, but more so because I need to vent and voice my opinion. I wanted to make this post for a while, however, I couldn’t write together a coherent essay as the trailer leaks devastated me to the point that not only did it leave me speechless, but I could not continue my drawings (temporarily). After a couple of weeks, I finally managed to start formulating my thoughts. List of the things that I have concern over: 1. The setting/plot is similar to what the dragon knight tried to do, which is to separate Po from the five. 2. There is no sign of anyone from the five in the trailer or the synopsis. Also, the leakers could only confirm that 3 of the 5 members of the F5 will make an appearance. 3. The villain makes no sense from a story standpoint. 4. Finding a new dragon warrior also makes no sense. 5. The tone of the film. 6. None of the original creators are involved in the production.
Let’s go in order.
1. The setting/plot is similar to what the dragon knight tried to do, which is to separate Po from the five
DW has been bending backward in order to not have the five in anything after kfp 3. It is very troubling to see that they are trying to rip out a significant component of what made the franchise amazing. One would think that after the flop of 2 shows they could realize that Po is not able to carry the stories alone. And it seems they are repeating the same mistake, but now on an even higher budget.
The pattern seems to be that they are trying to recreate the same relationship that Po has with Tigress by pairing him up with a budget version of her, which inevitably will fail once again just like in DK. I’ll go into what makes the relationship between Po and Tigress work so well in the next point.
Another thing I should mention is that Po also sounds OOC. He is more like how he was in Legends of Awesomeness (boasting about him being the dragon warrior and all that), which had horrendous character writing, which led to all the characters being completely out of character.
2. There is no sign of anyone from the five in the trailer or the synopsis. Also, the leakers could only confirm that 3 of the 5 members of the F5 are going to make an appearance
This poses several problems. One of the main components that make the franchise so beloved is the diverse cast and the relationship that Po has with them. The sort of comradery that you rarely see anywhere else. And all of this alone is just 1 of the problems. Another one is that it makes no sense for Po to go alone since it’s clear that the villain will be introduced to him early on. They are probably going to give a lame excuse that someone has to protect the valley (or they might not even go that far) even though we know they are very capable individually, so you wouldn’t need all of them to stay.
And this ties into what I mentioned in the previous point. At the VERY LEAST Tigress HAS TO go with him. Not only because he is facing a threat that he never had to face, but he is also going somewhere new. It makes no sense from a plot/character standpoint. She is the most capable of the group. It would make perfect sense that at the very least she goes with him. Besides these 2 have such a good synergy that not using it is a crime. They are direct opposites, which is why their relationship is so entertaining. Po is warm, outgoing, energetic, friendly, goofy, and unorthodox, however, he is also serious when needed. While Tigress is introverted, calm, a calculated badass, passive and intuitive, but deep down she is also a very compassionate and conflicted person that we rarely see. These are the reasons why just putting these 2 in a room is enough to create entertaining scenarios.
And if that wasn’t enough, they literally represent the yin-yang. The Dragon and the Tiger, the warm and cold, the day and night, the loud and quiet, the male and female, etc. They need each other to balance each other out. (And no I’m not talking about TiPo here)
If these 2 are torn apart, then one of the most beautiful symbolisms of the franchise would be tarnished.
And this leads to my next point. I’m probably biased on this, but I don’t think that will make my point any less valid.
At the moment, in the current state of the timeline, Tigress is the most interesting character since Po’s arc has no mysteries anymore after the conclusion of the 3rd film. Simply put, she has been sculpted into a complex character that the fandom loves and with whom a lot of themes could be explored at the same time. As of now, her character is incomplete, and to see that she won’t even play a major role in this next film seems like one of the biggest wastes of a character design that I’ve seen in my life.
What makes it even worse, is as I’ve pointed out it makes no sense from the plot/character standpoint to not include her. But that’s not all. You know how Hollywood is so focused on pushing „strong female characters” that they managed to create an incredibly negative stigma around ALL female characters because they didn’t develop them as characters? Meanwhile, Dreamworks is sitting here, with one of the best female characters ever made, that fits into the narrative that the film industry wants to so desperately push, and instead of using her, they replace her with a random ass character.
The illogical decision-making is so layered here that I could probably rant about this for even more paragraphs, but I think you got my point. So let’s move on.
3. The villain makes no sense from a story standpoint
So we seem to have a pretty good idea of what the villain can do. Basically, she can turn into the previous villains and possess their skills and abilities. There are however 2 major problems with this.
First of all, why would she turn into Shen? He is not physically dangerous or a particularly skilled fighter, at least he is nowhere near on the level of a kung fu master. The second issue is Kai. Kai doesnt exist in any form. Not physically or in a spirit form, he is quite literally gone.
These issues lead me to believe that this ability of the villain wasn’t the decision of a story writer, but rather an executive decision to try and lure the fans into the movie theatre. Simply a shameless fan bait.
Another problem is that the trailer doesn’t explain why the villain exists or why we should care about her. This is likely because she doesnt actually have a good reason to exist, they came up with her so that she can turn into the previous villains. Her being a character on her own was just an afterthought. Now you might say that just because the trailer didn’t show why she is important as a villain is not indicative of this. Well, I’ll let you know that the point of a trailer is to generate interest, which it’s supposed to do by showcasing the best parts of the film. So her general absence seems to indicate shallow character writing.
4. Finding a new dragon warrior also makes no sense.
In the 3rd film, it’s established thanks to Shifu that the dragon warrior is a 500-year-old prophecy. Meaning that Oogway literally had to wait this long for a successor. Meanwhile Po in his 20s decides that he needs to find a new one. Seriously? Who wrote this? Where is the consistency? Not even 1 generation of time has passed (both in-universe and -real life) and you already want to replace him Dreamworks? He should at least have to wait or look for one for his entire life.
5. The tone of the film
So it’s pretty clear from the leaks, mainly from the trailer that the tone will be super light, which is not necessarily a problem, however, it means that it will heavily build upon jokes. Which is THE problem. That is because generally speaking the humor in the trailer is childish, unoriginal, full of pop-culture references and… it literally has a fart joke. YOU CAN’T GO LOWER THAN THAT. Remember what I said about the trailers showcasing the best parts of the films? Yea, about that… apparently one of the „best” parts of this next KUNG FU PANDA film is a fart joke. How far had this franchise fallen in the last 8 years? I don’t need to remind most of you that the original Kung Fu Panda films had some of the best jokes in cinema, and yet this is where the franchise is headed now. 6. None of the original creators are involved in the production ALL of the previous points stem from one issue, and one issue ONLY. From everything we know so far, from public information to leaks, it’s very clear that basically none of the original creators are taking part in the making of this film. That’s right, not even Jennifer Yuh Nelson. Honestly, this is not surprising to see because, from all the issues that I have listed, they are only possible if the team that’s the heart and brain of the franchise is simply not there. I cannot put it into words how heartwrenching it is to see one of my favorite franchises turn into a mess. Something that could be considered art on some level, being turned into a generic blatant cash grab. After 2 failed shows, DW still insists on running into the wall the same way as before, but this time with a bigger force.
As for closing, a personal message for Dreamworks: (In the unlikely case that anyone from Dreamworks sees this.) DreamWorks, please for the love of god, look back and analyze what made the films, the shorts, and the specials so beloved. Please look at the fans sometimes and see what is keeping the franchise alive. Look at all the artwork and fanfictions and deduct what people want to see, what they are interested in because that’s what made the franchise so good. I’m not saying to listen to everything the fandom wants, because frankly, that’s impossible. However look at what people generally are interested in like Tigress and the Five, I mean most of the fan content has been revolving around Tigress and still is. Use what you already have and build upon it and don’t alienate your fans. Please listen, otherwise, they might turn on you, and that’s only going to make things worse for you and the franchise. “With a broken heart, it’s hard not to hate.” And with this, I hope anyone who reads this will agree with me to some extent. Let your opinion be heard if you don’t like where things are going, and vote with your wallet. That’s all we can do.

This is a part of a fanfiction that I'm creating in wattpad (Scars from a dark past), this occurs during the events of kfp secrets of the scroll.
The young swordsman goes down the stairs of the future training room that Shifu has under construction while analyzing the strange object he had found.
Until he looks up and sees Tigress carrying a kitchen stool. The young teenager approaches him and leaves the stool at his side.
Niko asks curiously, pointing to the stool with his finger "Tigress, what is that for? Some ancestral tecnique that you chineses do or something like that?"
"You'll see..." She answers and immediately afterwards, she gets on the stool and stares at him with a smile.
"So?..." He asks surprised.
"Don't you see? I'm taller now. Nice tecnique, huh?" Tigress says with the same smile as before, touching him with her shoulder.
Niko gets the joke and looks at her laughing a little "You dumb girl hahaha..."
They both start laughing out loud as Oogway looks at them from afar, smiling.
