A Dream I Can Call My Own

SUMMARY: After an accident on call, Tommy Kinard found himself stuck in a coma, living his favorite romantic comedy movies with the one person Tommy wanted his romcom happy ending with, Evan Buckley. As he ignores the signs, he is stuck in a coma, his reality bleeds in more and more, forcing him to face his past, his mistakes, and his wishes. What seems like a dream twists into a nightmare he cannot get out of. As he runs out of time, it’s up to Tommy to figure out how to stop running from happiness and learn to fight for his relationship with the love of his life.

“I’m difficult,” Evan protested.  “You’re challenging,” Tommy warmly smiled.  “I’m too structured.” “But in a good way,” Tommy said, “Evan, you’re an incredible guy. Big-hearted, funny, impulsive … hot as hell.” Evan wetly chuckled.  “You are going to find someone,” Tommy reassured, “You are perfect, you will find your person.” “But I keep driving people away,” Evan agonized, pulling away from Tommy, standing up and pacing around the room. “I-I don’t mean for it to happen, but it always happens.” He turns to Tommy with tears intertwined with his eyelashes. “Hell, I even drove you away, Tommy.” Stunned, Tommy sits up on Evan’s bed, his mouth growing dry. “Evan … I don’t understand.” “I drove you away, Tommy, that simple,” Evan muttered, his voice small. He looked down, picking at the skin around his fingernails. “I became too much, like I always become for people, and you walked away.” Slipping off of the bed, Tommy gently holds Evan by the cheeks, lifting his head, “But I always come back to you.”

connecting humanity - securing internet access via donations of virtual sim cards (esims). if you can't afford a whole plan yourself, crips for esims is a communal pool that will use your donation to purchase and maintain esims

gaza soup kitchen - provides food, medical care, and classes for children. also has a gofundme

glia gaza medical support initiative - provides medical care through field clinics and tents at hospitals. donations can also be sent through their website.

ele elna elak - provides clean water, food, clothing, and shelter. they also have a gofundme

life for gaza - raising money for the gaza municipality to repair water and waste management infrastructure

taawon - partners with local civil organizations to provide food, water, medical care, shelter, and basic supplies

the sameer project - running various initiatives providing tents, medical care, and necessities. they have their own encampment project focused on sheltering families with children, sick and disabled members, or members in need of perinatal care

islamic relief worldwide's gaza emergency appeal - provides food, water, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and psychological support

baitulmaal - provides a variety of necessities, including food, water, shelter, and medical supplies

hygiene kits for gaza - provides hygiene supplies including menstrual products, wipes, and toothbrushes/toothpaste

anera - provides a variety of necessities, including food, water, hygiene supplies, medicine, blankets and mattresses, and psychological care

palestine children's relief fund - provides supplies and support with a focus on children. also has an initiative for lebanon

Tommy Kinard embracing fatherhood by slowly turning what was once a spare room into a nursery over the pregnancy. Making things with his own hands and personalizing it in a way where his child knows that they are loved.

His favorite and the one that took the longest was the hand carved mobile of woodland animals that hangs above the crib.
